NVIDIA was hit with a cyberattack last week, and while we won’t get into all of the details, a leak since then may have relevance pertaining to a new type of Switch system.
TechPowerUp has since come forward with a list of leaked files. Among them is an NVN2 folder, an apparent NVNDLSS driver, and possible files about T239.
This is notable for Switch as NVN is the API that Switch programs are written against. NVIDIA developed the technology for Nintendo.
I look forward to playing the Switch successor in four or five years.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,419 games (as of March 10th, 2025)

Leaks =/= rumors/speculations people love to talk rumor mill but when something to obvious leaks that there is more to the story it's time to kill the messenger.
@nitrolink Does the Pokemon cycle ever line up properly with new console releases? Gen VII was released on 3DS when Switch was the big thing, and Gen V did the same for DS/3DS.
I wouldn't get too excited until Nintendo shows off new hardware. I would rather see better-optimised development on the Switch seeing as it's a RISC/ARM (Mobile/tablet) based system. After all, people developing games on the SNES used the SA-1 chip to exploit the sub-processor on the system to make games run smoother. I hope that people can find ways to exploit the Switch hardware to make games run at better frame rates.
@Grumblevolcano Right... But that's backwards. Of course if a new console is out the new gen will launch on it. But that doesn't mean a new gen means a new console. Maybe we'll have 3 generations on Switch. Or... Better yet, maybe they'll decide to let this generation last 4-5 years.
I think DLSS is a natural step for Nintendo to take. They're already working with Nvidia, and they can't just make their hardware drastically more powerful as that would cost a lot more money. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Switch Pro" was actually similarly specced to the base Switch, but with added DLSS support in order to make games run at a higher framerate and resolution.

It's one thing to be skeptical about a potential Switch pro, but I feel that some people get too heated up about how much they don't believe it's not happening.
In any case, I think it's happening but not anytime soon.
@BrazillianCara Folks around here get heated about the Switch Pro discussion simply because they (we) are tired of hearing about it and/or reading about it. Most core gaming folks around here meet any news headline regarding a Switch Pro or a Switch successor with extreme eyerolling.
As you said, it probably isn't happening anytime soon. But that won't stop the clickbaiters from throwing chum into those lucrative waters. We continue to see the rumors and the subsequent discussion pop up again...and again...and again, as they have each and every year since the Switch's launch. Honestly it's exhausting.
Nothing but a painful reminder that a more powerful Switch is years away. Not 2022, not 2023, most likely not 2024 either. And even when Nintendo deliver the Switch successor we're going to have that segment of the fandom that will be baffled as to why it isn't as capable as the Steam Deck. Yes, some Nintendo fans are just bananas, assuming we'll be getting a portable PS5 equivalent or something equally ridiculous.
"Hey, bro. Bro bro bro! Did you know Nintendo are developing a successor to their most popular console ever!"

@Magician You forget about that annoyining marginal demographic of people who will say it's old tech by the time it launches. Y'know, coz they suck the joy out of anything.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@link3710 I wish the 3 year cycle would end for gens to last longer though releasing 3 mainline games in the space of a year (Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Legends Arceus and Scarlet/Violet in the timespan of November 19th 2021 - November 18th 2022) instead of letting Gen 9 release in 2023 or later makes me think it'll never change. Stuff like the anime probably force the cycle.
