Topic: Nintendo Switch Sports

One thing I wonder with this game. Why is golf in an update. They obviously had the game mode ready so why is it not in the game. This should have been a switch pack in.

The irony is Deca Sports (Wii, NDS, 3DS) have 10 different sports, Olympic Games including Mario & Sonic games have more than 10 different sports, Go Vacation have more than 40 different activities including sport games.

Looks ok, but just wish it had baseball and boxing on it instead of volleyball or soccer.

I am hoping they add Baseball, Disc Golf, and Archery.

It doesn't look that great to me. Tennis, Badminton and Volleyball look like 3 very similar games.
Also, it's disappointing that you still cannot move your character around. Is it really that difficult to make joystick controls for these games?

That's something that already annoyed me in the original Wii Sports Tennis. It feels like the game is playing for you.

@Ryu_Niiyama Clubhouse games has a decent bowling game as far I recall. Admittedly haven't played it much, but to me it felt pretty similar to Wii Sports Bowling.

Clubhouse Games Bowling came close, but it just wasn't on the same level as the Sports series.

You didn't hold the trigger and release to release the ball, which is part of what made Wii Sports feel so natural and immersive. It was also sped up. It just didn't feel as good. Definitely the next best thing in the absence of Wii Sports. But, as they say, the king has returned.

i'm honestly so happy for this and i plan on signing up for testing, but the absence of baseball and boxing is very disappointing. but I just hope the soundtrack is there too. i want to hear the music. i want to have nostalgia. i want Wii (er, maybe Nintendo Switch) fitness test (which i doubt will be there, which is fine). I want the training games. honestly i just hope it lives up to the original wii sports's legacy and really gives the nostalgia. i was a little disappointed when i saw the non-Mii characters so hopefully this is all it can be.

I'm really happy about this (and Mario Strikers) but to be honest, they really should have included all of the Wii Sports Resort games and Wii Sports games. It's quite unfair to only include a few. Here's hoping they add them all somehow.
Go Vacation should also receive a graphics update for the Switch . The current graphics aren't all that great. The content and gameplay are already there. Still a lovely game though.

@dmcc0 I didn’t enjoy that one as much. @JaxonH has the right of it. Even though I knew it would, I spent the direct the second they announced switch sports going “please have bowling, please have bowling” so I am super excited. I need to rewatch the direct but if they have online play as well I am set. Wii sports is Mother-Daughter bonding time in my family (with my mom, I don’t want kids).

@Ryu_Niiyama Its been a while since I've played either, but after JaxonH mentioned it, I do remember the controls being a bit different to the Wii version - I remember my daughter constantly throwing the ball backwards a lot as she was so used to the Wii controls.

I hope they add boxing also would it be cool if they add running track due to the leg strap also surfing or something like that

Resurrect the balance board and add surfing.

Gosh dang it. That really should have been a thing.

@JaxonH I feel like the leg strap could fit that role considering how precise it is in Ring Fit Adventure.

I really wanted golf, and thank god its coming in another update, but if I don't get matt in boxing, I riot.

The balance board could detect shifting your weight around, which one joycon on one leg can’t do (not even 2 joycon on each leg could do that). I think that window of opportunity closed with Wii U, the last system to utilize the balance board (there was an SSX snowboarding game that used it on Wii, but I’m not sure how well it controlled).

Club House Games Darts was also really good. Best mini game on that compilation, imo.

But Bowling and Golf remain my favorite. Golf in Wii Sports Club on Wii U was legendary. To date, no golf game has served as a more realistic sim, and none ever shall. Hitting the ball off the gamepad screen into the TV screen was just… incredible.

I never liked the Boxing. But I guess every sport has its fans. I think the Volleyball and Badmitton could be good, and even the Chambara and Soccer looks fun enough. Tennis is decent.

But Bowling and Golf. Those are definitely the standouts. So glad Golf is being added in. It just wouldn’t be the same without it.

@JaxonH I'm not going to be that mad if it never shows up, I only ever did like it for matt, now bowling and golf, that was my jam.

Looks fun, but I highly doubt I could anyone in the family to play with me, so purchasing it would probably be a waste (same reason I had to pass up on Clubhouse Games).

The only one of these I've picked up so far is Go Vacation because the adventure/exploration elements just made it work enough as a single player game.

Will I be able to use this on a Nintendo Switch Lite Console does anyone know? Because on the Nintendo Switch Sports main page it has this Photo that is below but no where on that page does it say that you can't play it on a Switch Lite.
