Topic: Live A Live (Switch)

Very excited for this one!

Game is definitely better than I remember especially since I don’t have to half translate/use fan translation but I forgot how grindy the Edo chapter is. (I gave up on the carp boss because I couldn’t remember how to get down to the north side of the moat—after I backtracked) I saved it for last on purpose and games still need to figure out a better way to reward stealth play on a stealth character. That being said I miss these types of games (the feel and experimentation) although stuff like Octopath is in some ways an heir to that mindset.

Ooops, had no idea this had it's own thread, I have been spamming the main Switch thread this whole time. Sorry everyone!

Went back and completed the "True Ending" - I mean technically there are seven True Endings depending on who you pick at the start of the chapter, but I ain't gonna replay this seven times for a couple of extra lines of dialogue. I am happy for Cube to get the final exchange, as they represent my favourite chapter and their little final exchange is actually quite fitting for the ending.

I do fully intend to go back and play the Alternate Final Chapter though before I shelve this, though.

And about that True Ending? I'm just kinda speechless. This game is so wonderful and continued to surprise me with each brilliant development. I truly loved this game. Like I can't remember the last time I finished a game and just felt this strong of a passion for it.

I think it is truly special and is easily my GOTY for this year. Can't imagine anything else coming close and I think I will have a Live a Live shaped hole in my heart for a long time to come.

Finally got to the middle ages chapter, wow, what a ride. For such short stories, some of these really pack a punch that put some 90 hour affairs to shame.
