Topic: How to transfer game data to non linked switch

Hi. My daughter has a switch linked to her mum's nintendo account. I am buying a switch for myself. I wish to transfer the game data for Mario Odyssey that I have on my daughters switch (under my profile).
I will not be linked to their mums nintendo account.
Is there anyway around this?
Can I delink her account from her mum's and link it to mine, and then transfer the data?

If you mean to move only the save data tied to your own profile, then you can simply transfer the save data or the entire profile.

If you mean to literally transfer the game itself though, and that game was bought digitally, then it’s not possible to move a license to a digital game from one account to another.

@DJDavideon Just bolstering what Eel said. You cannot transfer game save data for one game from one nintendo account to another. That Mario Odyssey game save progress is locked to your wife's account. The only way to get that Mario Odyssey progress onto your switch is put your wife's account on your switch, and the game save data for all games played with the wife's account.

Just from the read it's not happening since the mom account is the registered game data. And if the mom doesn't give the access to transfer the data is a mute point now. She will have to replay the game again. The family situation doesn't sound good because the mom will not give the access here. So it's best to learn from this and create her own NSO that will save her game data to the Nintendo cloud so the girl doesn't have this problem regardless which console she games on as that will update her save data to either consoles.
