First I want to say I'm extremely stoked for DQIII 2.5D HD Remake. I've been a huge fan of the Dragon Quest series ever since the NES days (I'm 34).... But overall this 35th anniversary was -extremely- disappointing for me... Kinda lame they only revealed the title for DQXII too... And no new info on DQ Infinity Strash???.. Come'on... Not a fan of the kiddy games they announced at all...
Really reaaaally had my hopes up for an English localization of DragonQuest X and/or DragonQuest Heroes 1&2. Perfect games to bring to the west...
@kkslider5552000 The treasure game and the bejeweled/candy crush game... Pretty clearly geared toward younger kids. And the DQX offline wasn't much better either....
Most other DQ games at least look fun for all ages and have a bit more intricacies and depth to them.

I would say 6 announcements in half em hour was good. I was not expecting them to show much more than that on 12 anyways and would prefer a port of the latest ones or an HD-2d remake of other title but it is cool nonetheless. The others I don't care at all but there was something for everyone basically
MY DQ disappointment is that the sequel to the excellent DS Rocket Slime game never came over here and that there's currently no way to buy the version of DQ 8 with orchestrated music, for the record.
Other than the first game being a puzzle game for mobile, the only disappointment was S-E's refusal to define which games are coming to which platforms. I assume DQX Offline, DQ III Remake, DQ Treasures, and DQ XII are locked in as Switch games. But none of that is for sure.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,371 games (as of December 23rd, 2024)

Bit silly that there are ‘no plans’ to release Dragon Quest X in the West. You’d think Armour Project / Square would take the chance to bring it over, especially with the demake that is the offline version, but it’s not to be apparently.
I’d honestly take the offline version over nothing.
@TheJGG There's a small chance that the offline version might come over, seeing as they didn't say it wasn't... but seeing as the actual game isn't coming over probably means the offline one isn't either.

I find it funny people are saying it was too kiddie when in the stream they were talking about the next one being dark and adult for a series that does well by not being dark and adult.

I would have thought the offline version is more likely to come to the west because it would be simpler to localise and they wouldn't had to host servers worldwide. Personally I'd rather play it offline anyway.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
I now won’t play my Switch mobile port of Dragon Quest III in the backlog but wait for the HD version. I might play I and II as the release nears though.
