Topic: Did Walmart break Street Date with Metroid Dread?

My local Walmart was selling Metroid Dread download cards 3 days early. If I bought one would I be able to play it, or would it just be like pre-ordering from the Eshop?

I knew a guy who was getting Banjo Tooie for Xmas back in the day, and he got his mum to put it in the machine overnight on Xmas Eve, ready to go for when he woke up on Xmas morning.

Pre-loading a game so it's ready to go would be the modern-day equivalent.
