In my opinion no. Share you're opinions in the replies(No Arguing)!!! Is it worth it or not??? Is it just garbage or great??? I wanna hear you're opinion!!! Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah(Had to full out the message body somehow)
For me, the Switch 2 is absolutely worth it. It's a great handheld device that I'll be playing for years to come. The controllers feel amazing and are premium in quality. In the first few months of it being out, we've already gotten multiple games I consider to be great on the system. The seamlessness of going from TV to handheld mode and vice versa is really convenient. All of this makes for an excellent system.
That said, I would like to note that what is worth it for me is not worth it for everyone. Some people value gaming less than I do, and others may sadly be unable to afford the console in the midst of the tenuous economic climate we currently experience.
"well it appears I am upside down. what ever will I do?"

Do I like Game Key Cards? HECK NO. Do I like Nintendo of America's newer censorship policies that led to American Switch Neptunia releases being canceled? HECK NO. Do I think the Switch 2 device itself is awesome? HECK YES. Whether I'll get one at this point is another matter entirely though 😅.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons

Honestly, I got a Switch 2 on launch and didn't touch it for months. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to get one when I wanted one, and that was a mistake as it turns out I could have just bought one at any time. I think if the Switch is your only platform then the Switch 2 is a no brainer, but I feel like the value proposition is way less for any other kind of gamer. Playing five year old third party releases in their most compromised forms? No thank you. I play the Switch for exclusives, and it looks like we'll be a good ways into the second year of this thing before we have even more than a handful of those. Right now I have spent way more hours on my Switch 2 playing my OG Switch games.
Except, by your statement, you do know: its not worth it to you, because you aren't buying the product that actually currently exists. Maybe some future product might change your mind, but that doesn't mean you don't currently have an answer.
For now, it's only fine. For now, it's a switch pro. I wanted more power, and I got it. But for the larger casual market. It's mostly skating on fumes of hope.
For Mario Kart World, certainly not.
It'll be worth it when there's a new 3d mario, 3d zelda, and or Mario Kart World gets features to make it worth while. Mario Kart 7 & 8 were so glorious, I justified getting a switch 1 just for MK8. This incomplete MKW and it's more-luck-based racing (vs drifting skill on MK8), this game doesn't have legs, and it collects dust.
Also, no, for the dumpster fire eshop spammed with sh** AI slop and shovelware. Can you imagine if switch 2 is your first switch and seeing this eshop? Or seeing this eshop after spending $450 for a christmas gift for your kid? It looks like you bought a computer already spammed with malware. I don't even browse eshop, and if I do, I always stop rather quickly, because it's so full of ai slop, shoveware garbage, and a lot of it is smutty. It's not a good look, and doesn't build value for the brand, or foster hope for it's future.
And the next 3d mario or 3d zelda better not be switch 1 game holdovers like DK Bananza and MKW were (you know what I mean). I want games designed for next gen.
For the time being, I don't think holiday sales for the console will be that great, because of the lack of 3d mario/zelda, and MKW doesn't have the legs like MK8 did. Pokemon helps. And if Metroid Prime 4 is good, it's coming so late in the season, I think it's timing isn't positioned well to move consoles for the holiday season. I still can't help think MP4 is releasing late because hope-for-MP4-being-good is stronger than it's end product. Prove me wrong, Nintendo. Forgive my pessimism.
I have yet to be wowed by anything on it that isn't available in a similar form on Switch 1. So no it isn't worth it yet, but if you think you're def going to get it eventually, you might as well get it now to play some stuff in a bit better of performance
@OmnitronVariant everyday is literally full of AI slop cover art, hentai or shopping simulator games. It doesn't feel like anyone is approving anything anymore.
I still haven't gotten one myself yet. I'd say the main games that I'm interested in are Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave when it comes out. So at the very least I might get one next year after a few more exclusives launch.
Very worth it for me. My OG Switch was showing its age and a lot of recent games just didn't run well on it. Plus the new pro controller is wonderful.
I'm very glad I got to play Bananza but, mostly, I've just been playing my backlog of games which didn't run well on Switch but now runs well on Switch 2. I'm also looking forward to FF7 remake.
Aren't there enough of these kinds of threads already? We get it, you've discovered independently that a popular product is "bad" and want to flex how everyone who does like it is a sheep. Or something. Cool. Do you want a sticker or something?
Really, for me, the Switch was a solid console. The Switch 2 is the same thing but more modern. Can't complain

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Switch2 isn't 'perfect'... but no console/system is. It absolutely does enough of what I want/need it to do though to justify my purchase and enjoyment.
Despite a lot of the 1st party games not landing for me, the third party support is awesome and I've pumped a ton of hours into Wildhearts, Silksong, Absolum, Cyberpunk, Hades 2(!)
I'll likely get a Steamdeck OLED around holiday period, and then between the 2 devices I should have all/most bases covered.
But yeh Switch2 is a great bit of kit, at a very reasonable pricepoint (IMO)
I feel it isn't worth it yet, it needs more exclusive games. I'm not really interested in re-visiting older Switch 1 games or playing mediocre versions of multi-platform titles at much higher prices. I'm looking for maybe at least 4-6 must have exclusive Switch 2 titles to justify the purchase. Also the launch hardware is quite poor, inferior for its time than the original Switch 1 I think. Lastly in the UK and Europe the pricing is ridiculous. A currency conversion shows the Switch 2 is less than £250 in Japan where as the official suggested selling price in the UK is something like £400.
As for the hardware itself the CPU performance is quite low at about 2000 passmark CPU score, it sits between PS4 and PS4 Pro in CPU performance which was confirmed by a developer but not hard to calculate at A78x8x1Ghz and its GPU is around 1.3 Teraflops or less for portable mode and about 2.2 Teraflops docked. However DLSS brings a lot to the console as it can render at ridiculously low resolutions like 640x360p and be upscaled to HD. The Steamdeck in comparison delivers about 9000 passmark CPU score and about 1.6 Teraflops GPU performance but with definitely inferior GPU architecture than cannot match DLSS upscaling although recently FSR4 has managed to get working on Steamdeck so this can perhaps improve Steamdeck performance in the future. Also the Switch 2 has a low grade DLSS feature which is often used where the most active parts of the screen do not get post processing to lower frame generation times. This hasn't been seen before but something that any GPU can do really to improve frame rates if it has AI upscaling and so we may see this adapted by other hardware. It reduces visual quality but gives a significant performance boost.
So far the Switch 2 had fantastic launch numbers but has significantly slowed down in Europe in sales and Switch 2 third party software sales have been abysmal. We are waiting for post Christmas analysis but Europe at least feels like sales have been much slower than the US and Japan probably mainly due to excessive pricing. Already there has been heavy discounting. I missed out on a sub £300 price for Switch 2 with Mario Kart on Aliexpress that was available on 11/11 which was the Hong Kong spec model. I would of gone for it at that price but out of stock before I could order. There is zero chance of me paying around £400 for the Switch 2 with Mario Kart. I just don't think its worth anywhere near that price for me but I'm happy to wait until 2026. I currently have 3 original Switchs. The launch model (cough), the OLED model and a Switch Lite. I use the Lite model most. So I'm going to sell one of those but I still can't decide on which.
I should add I'm primarily a PC gamer and my Switch is my secondary console. I do not have a PS5 or Xbox Series console.
So I'm looking for exclusive Switch 2 games that I cannot play on my PC. I'm not interested in Switch 1 games because a) my older Switches are far more portable and b) for home use I can run Switch 1 games on PC at 4K 60fps emulated on PC. My steamdeck also emulates Switch 1.
So for me I need many more exclusive Switch 2 games or at least a fantastic low cost deal for the console with Mario Kart World.
Absolute worth it for me. I think I've played the system pretty much every day since launch.
I enjoy the majority of Nintendo franchise so it was always going to be a hit for me. Between Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World, Pokemon Legends Z-A and now Age of Imprisonment it already feels like I've got my money's worth...and if it's anything like the Switch I've got 7+ more years of great games on the horizon. That's not to even mention the third party titles (e.g. Yakuza 0) and Gamecube games (e.g. Wind Waker) I've yet to devote my time to.
. I'm looking for maybe at least 4-6 must have exclusive Switch 2 titles to justify the purchase.
This made me wonder. Since so many big Switch games were cross-gen or enhanced ports, I didn't technically have 6 truly exclusive Switch games until well into 2020, more than 3 years after I bought the console. For Switch 2, I will only have 2 2025 exclusives (not counting the exclusive DLCs etc) but there are a lot I am interested in in 2026; I may or may not hit 6 in 2026, depending what else is announced.
