I'm not sure I like that design. And with the size of some of the PSP titles, downloading them will take some time as well.

Plain old gamer :)

Adam

Awesome! Looks kind of weird, yes, but it's a good concept for a portable. Carrying games with you has always been one of the worst parts about portables. I want to amass more games, but I don't want to have to stuff my pockets with them.

Anyone actually have Qore? Rip us some pictures of LBP if you do!

For those too lazy to read the article, LBP and a new Metal Gear are confirmed for the Go.

Come on, friends,

ur right about it looking weird, and with no UMD drive the # of playable games will be small for the device until they release downloadable titles (which they already have but not as many as UMD-based games)

but no 2nd analog stick? it's a no-go for me

Adam

I hate using those analog things on the PSP. Feels super awkward.

yip, i'll prefer a touch screen over their analog-nub anyday

Adam

I remember one of the rumors about the Go being that it would have touch screen. I saw no mention of it in the article, so I guess that means it's not true, though I'll wait until E3 for confirmation.

hm true, but i doubt the screen is a touch screen

can't wait for Nintendo's Conference at E3

I've never been very interested in the PSP, and I already knew it was confirmed.

i wonder if the PS3 slim will be unveiled at E3 as well

SonicMaster

I just looked at the site, and might I say that looks very odd.

Sonic, it was only rumored before... though it was rumored practically everywhere, so it might as well have been confirmed. This is the first time Sony has publicly acknowledged it.

I hope the PS3 slim is true, but I hope it looks much better than that "leaked" pic.

ditto

otherwise i think this could be the end for Sony's good-looking devices

All arguments about gaming aside, Sony just doesn't seem to understand the importance of good design for a product. The idea of a sliding screen that reveals buttons is just fine, but it looks terrible in those photos. You don't have to be Nintendo or Apple to hire some decent designers after all. Making an item people will want to buy involves a lot more than the list of features; it's the physical form of the device that has to bring it all together in an attractive, clean, and intuitive whole.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

very true, unless it's as fragile as their first psp's

my cousin dropped his on accident and the screen shattered

Adam

I don't think it was designed to be dropped. That sounds more like a problem for your cousin than Sony.
The original PSP looks quite sleek. This new one, not that great to look at, at least not in photos. The list of features is enough for me, but I don't disagree that look is important to the average consumer.

yea, it does look sleek (even more sleek than the current PSP's imo) and the battery life will hopefully last longer without the UMD drive

Adam

Dang it, I just got out of the portable world, and already I'm being tempted by a Go and a DSi! It took so much will power to get out of the gaming industry's pocket, and I'm just getting sucked right back in. Must... resist...

No no, that's all backwards, you'll be putting games into your pocket.
