So I have a problem. I have the Zelda joy con for a couple years and recently my right joy con won’t connect to my switch when I put it in the console and it acts like it’s not connected to it so I had to play games with both joycons removed from the system. Can anyone help please?
Have you got another Joy-Con to test with? My son's switch had a similar problem and it was just the side rail on the console needed cleaning. Some Joy-Cons appear to be more sensitive than others though, as it didn't happen with every Joy-Con (he has a few sets and I also tried mine).
If it's not registering as connected when attached to the console, then it sounds like something's wrong with the contacts on the Joy-con. Perhaps they're bent or dirty, or there's some debris stuck in there. It's hard to see, but can you see anything if you look in the bottom of the rail where the contacts are?
@Greatluigi Make sure your joycons are updated. That's always step one if you contact nintendno support. Disregard if they joycons are already updated.
I had a similar problem. My fix was to pop out the left JC for a moment then put them both back in. This worked pretty well and was only a slight inconvenience. And it no longer happens.
