i think putting a message board and more channels would be cool. and it would be cool if they had three rows for the games and apps than just one or choose between one to three
The ability to run games from the SD card. It's just plain insulting that they didn't prevent this problem from occuring after working so hard to finally fix the Wii storage issue!
Other than that, I'm not sure how much they really CAN do. If the DSi was designed anything like the Wii, the potential for firmware improvement is EXTREMELY limited.

I would like to see an easier way to have a revolving series of your camera pics on your top screen... right now, as it is, you have to "star" photos and the one with the latest star goes up on the top screen... don't like that, and it needs to be easier. Desktop management. That won't require a firmware update and should be an easy thing to improve.

And so can tell other users of the system important info, like, please don't delete certain photos or check out this site, info-tid-bits for anything/to-do-list etc.

A good thing to do until they (possibly) come out with a nintendo messenger for dsi (Not Pictochat!!!) is to use the google mobile site on your dsi browser. It is at www.google.com/m/ig and then download the widget Gmail app and use it as a messenger because it sends email in 1sec. It is what I will use until then.
