If you can't handle someone's opinion of a game being different than yours, then simply ignore their opinion and like the games that you want. People are going to have different opinions that yours, so be more mature by realizing and accepting that. With that said, 3D Land is good but not great (in my opinion, of course). I certainly wouldn't call it mediocre but I can see why people would call it that.

No.
The level design was uninspired, and the difficulty was nonexistent until the second half, but those levels were mostly recycled. The bosses were boring and repetitive, and everything was overly simplified.
While it was a decent game, it was a thoroughly mediocre Mario game.
3D World was everything 3D Land should have been.
Super Mario 3D Land is mediocre. It was okay and all, but the most memorable thing about it was the fact it had a tanooki suit and traditional 2D Mario power-ups.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it mediocre, but I don't think it deserved all the praise it got when it came out. The second half of the game with the re-used levels is really a drag at times, and it's just worse because the game doesn't have any particularly creative level tropes and re-uses all those it has, plus you gotta go through all of them again with Luigi if you want the last level. Besides that, it's a lot of fun and sticks well to minimalist gameplay, sans some moments that're a tad too easy.
Hang on! What? There's a level you can unlock with Luigi? Right. Time to replay!
Of course it's not a mediocre game. It's one of the best 3D platformers ever made. It's just worse than all the other 3D marios.
Compared to Super Mario 64, Sunshine, both Galaxy games and 3D World, it definitely is mediocre. It's an overly linear, rather limited Mario platformer that felt more like an attempt at a 3D New Super Mario Bros title than a big new upcoming game.
But come on, people have opinions. And if many people (myself included, to an extent) think 3D Land is mediocre, then let them say that.
As sexy @Knux stated. I don't know if this is a cry for attention or you really are this childish. If you can't have your own opinion and brush off those that you don't like, then you got a problem and a site such as this isn't the place for it. If you like something continue enjoying it find others that have similar interests, don't acknowledge others who don't and upset you, it's common sense. So don't look for pity, just man up. Cause the threads of whining/disagreeing of others are old. :/

It's a nightmare-like level, in the same vain as the last level in Super Mario 3D World.
It's an amazing game. The first half rather short and easy (but this adds some mass market appeal I guess), the second half rather repetitive, but it's a great platformer anyway, at least for me. But anyone has its opinion and I don't care how others consider it. There a re a lot of things most people consider mediocre and that won't stop me from enjoying them. To each his own.
Here's a life lesson: Like something that others don't? Don't bash them. People have different tastes than you and I. If we're all the same, then life will be mundane and boring. Find some group that has the same tastes as you and mingle.
I won't say it's mediocre. But 3D World blows it out of the water.
Level design is bland, there are no alternate characters, the game is a cakewalk, the soundtrack is both less original and less rememberable.
3D Land seems like a game that was rushed to production in order to get 3DS sales back on track at that point.
