Topic: Metroid Prime Federation Force (and Blast Ball)

@TwilightAngel I dont think Next Level games expected the amount of backlash because they thought the game would justify itself. Now whether it did or not is an entirely different subject yet I feel that if this was a middle finger to Metroid fans this would be some half assed game that had no meat on its bones what so ever. The treehouse however shows that this game can stand on its own as a game and I think it relates to the prime series well enough to warrent the title. This isnt some sort of spit in the face, this is a development studio trying to take a key part of prime and using it to create something new and fresh. Is that really a spit in the face?

Honestly, this looks dated and ugly from what I saw at the Nintendo digital event. I don't think it should be on the 3DS, and it should be on the Wii U. Right now it looks to be wasted potential. This was the Wii U game needed, but Nintendo just decided to make me doubt my decision to buy a Wii U instead.

@koopa-king I watched some of the gameplay of this looks decent,i'll give this is a chance when it releases if it does. But i still feel like i been slapped by Nintendo with this tho. I do feel bad for Next Level tho they were lambs to the slaughter. Oh well nothing you can do about it.

@TwilightAngel Im glad you looked at the gameplay. Hopefuly when this game releases it does well by critics, then again its Next Level Games so we should expect a quality title.

But the problem is the game will not sell now, it could be good but people won't buy it tho. Cause there's alot of hatred towards it including from me,but i'm going to give it a chance cause it's next level like you said it's going to be a quality title. Poor Next level

I wonder if this game will have extra multiplayer modes other than blast ball. The Campaign co-op seems pretty cool, but the blast ball multiplayer I could see getting stale rather quickly. Maybe they will provide multiple multiplayer modes in the final release. I would like to see a prime hunters/echoes PvP online multiplayer.

Well, maybe if this game fails they'll finally put the series to sleep.

Seeing how the initial reaction to a new Metroid game is "it will suck please cancel it".

@MegaBeedrill I wasn't trolling i actually felt this way towards the game,but like i said before to Koopa King i'm going to give it a chance but others won't.

@TwilightAngel Well it's you're opinion, I'm glad you'll give the game a try though. I do apologize if I came off a little harsh to counter flame, but honestly this whole situation is a bit blown out of proportion for how much hate it's recieving when no human being except those at the championships and the treehouse had a chance to even try a test demo. I get it's not what metroid fans hoped for, but nothing like people are asking seems a little too harsh.

But the confusing part is that this doesn't look like a full retail game. Nor does it look like a game that Next Level has been working on since Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.

And we base that on the two minutes of gameplay we have seen.

Yeah sorry being such a fanboy to Metriod we should wait and see what happens with this game and the fans.

I should clarify. I see LOADS of potential in Blast Ball. They could vary the weapons, the maps, and other elements, and have a a really interesting game. But as far as Federation Force looks? Nope. It's multiplayer co-op first person shooter in relatively small areas. Nothing I've seen is encouraging.

There is single player campaign I've heard. Co-op story is just an optional choice for you.

I would love to see them expand blast ball a bit, the single player we cannot judge cause.. well.. we've only seen the multiplayer, and splatoon would be kinda the same boat as this since splatoon is mainly multiplayer based anyway with a short single player mode.

It sums well what was the issue with the event. Most games were announced for the 3DS, which for some reason automatically means they're wasted opportunities.

I laughed so hard when I saw this. Sorry, but I'm kinda mad after the digital event today. The thing is, I would have liked this on the 3DS a few years ago, but I think it's too late for a game like this on the 3DS. For the record, this is the only game they announced for the 3DS I really think would've been much better for the Wii U, and really should've been on the Wii U. (This was also a response for @Morpheel too.)

I predict... this game sells well. Sure it'll get hate forevermore, but I think enough people will buy it off the eShop in the end given a sale or two.

I'm hoping blast ball has a stand alone eshop version. The sports game looks nice...I just don't want to co op hunt. Monster Hunter is collecting dust for that reason.
