I have seen the cases that are designed for the 3DS family. What I want to know is, are there cases out there that people use because it can hold allot more than just the system and a few games... To give you an idea, I want to put all of this into one case.
Now I don't need it for work, or if we go out to eat. But if we go on vacation, I would like to to have something for all of it.
@TB-1599 Can you shoot a photo of your stuff in that case and/or measure INSIDE dimensions?
I've got a grip case too (a bit different than yours) and it's impossible to find a good case.
Ideally, I'd like one with a separate section of the 3DS so its all protected and I don't have to worry about scuffs to the top lid but I'll take what I can get.
@Dreamliner My delivery date is Friday but things tend to get delivered a day or so early. So I can post a few pictures then. BUT to give you an idea I took a few pictures of the case I currently have for my Gear VR..
In this first picture imagine the far right section. Is the size of the new case.
Sorry the pictures are in different orientations, for some reason photobucket is not saving the rotated versions.
This next picture shows what the case could look like with just the "New" 3DS XL lots of loose space on the left, right and top and bottom.
This picture show the case I normally put my system in and how it should fit inside the new carry case. It looks like it should be a nice fit.
This one show the Monster Hunter system grip resting on top of the small system case. There should be plenty of room to place a charging cable and a cartridge case on top. Put some foam padding inside the "lid" of the carry case and it should hold very well.
@Dreamliner
The big case I am using as an example is actually the one I use for my Samsung Gear VR. It holds my Gear VR headset, Bluetooth gamepad, headphones, my LG tablet(what I use with my emmulators) and various cords and chargers. I wanted a case that could hold my "New"3DS Xl in the smaller case that holds the game cartridges. Along with the game grip and charger.
I almost got the Cyber Gadget grip. But I ended up getting this one. https://www.amazon.com/Monster-Hunter-Cross-hunting-gear-Nint...
The big seller for me was the shoulder buttons that make it just like an Xbox 1 or PS4 controller. So no more uncomfortable finger positioning for the Z L/R buttons.. Yea its a little bit more money but it is SOOOOOOOO worth it.
Ideally I want something I can put my 3DS XL (with grip) in right-side-up and ALL SIX surfaces that could potential touch the 3DS are soft. Then enough compartments are left over for my game cartridge case and charger.
OK finally got my case in. ( a day late thank you Amazon.)
with my XL for size reference.
If you are going to use your XL without any other case you will need some padding.
I was able to get all of this in my case. Including
The System with case.
ear buds
wall charger with cable
backup battery with cable
and my Monster Hunter game grip.
Gonna add some velcro to the battery so it doesn't slide around...
Then some elastic straps to keep the grip in place..
But it all fits..
