Max brightness, power saver on, headphones on, wireless switch off, 3D was on for about two hours and off for the rest. For 5 hours from Nintendo Gamer.
They got 9 hours with the brightness on the middle setting and having power saving mode on and having the 3D off.
Quite the bump up.
My understanding was that that was also playing DS and VC games. Regardless, it makes me more excited for this thing. Come on Nintendo, just give me the silver one!

Is it the same as 3DS? If so, not much of a complaint with this specific hardware. If not, that's discouraging.

Do you know if it tranfers the same way as 3DS to 3DS? If so then it's not a specific hardware flaw.
Considering how banged up my 3DS has become, I'll most definitely upgrade...unless another issue arises.
...Once Silver comes out here. This'll be the first time I'm holding out for a color. The Wii U may be the second.

I pretty much agree with most of those points. They still say if you want a 3DS pull the trigger on the XL
The only negative I see is the lack of charger. Sounds awesome, this definitely confirms a day one buy on my part. Silver it is.

1)I loved the 3DS stylus.
2)a lot of people were expel ting the XL to have a 2nd stick because of the Frakenstick. Just says its disspointing.
3)the resolution is the same as the 3Ds. I guessed they were expecting it to get better like ot does on tablets when a new one comes out

Could someone PLEASE tell me if the L and R buttons are as clicky as the 3DS? I liked how they were that way and they didn't break so easily. If it's made out of the DSI plastic I am going to scream.

I'm sick of all the reviews critisizing the lack of a ProPad. It's not a valid complaint, anyone who actually expected this to happen was stupid, Nintendo will not add a second Pad until at least next gen, because they do not want to fracture and obsolete the fanbase. They already have massive backlash from DS fans, and even though people are complaining about it now I garuntee they would do the same if we actually got one on the next system. "But it's only two years after my XL! WAAAAH!"
