Mobapad M6 HD joycon are a must imo. All official joycon functionality including HD Rumble and NFC, gyro, best d-pad ever, swappable d-pad with rocker dpad, all buttons are mechanical omron switches, rear mappable buttons, swappable face plates with round gates and octagonal gates, much more ergonomic... these put the official joycon to shame.

That's a LOT of games. But this is my shortlist of excellent games that look good and run great on Switch. At least this gives you a sizeable list to look into and see what interests you the most, to narrow down your selection from.

Wow...what a list-some of those are what I like but BOTW was my first Switch game and still need to do one last task before it's down. So got long list of backlogs as well.
Pikmin 4 (the other 3 are on Switch as well, but I think 4 is a great place to start), Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and if I could recommend only ONE game it'd have to be Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (it comes out next month!)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't notice any of these games mentioned so I thought I'd throw them out there... If you like character-action games, No More Heroes III is very fun. And there's some great indie beat-em-ups, Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge I'd put up there with even the best 'AAA' games and The Takeover is another I'd recommend. For a light-gun style game, there's The House of the Dead Remake.
I'd qualify Luigi's Mansion 3 and Super Mario Odyssey as mandatory. Everything else depends on your preference in genres. I would wholeheartedly recommend Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2 and 3. But they might be too much game.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,252 games (as of April 30th, 2024)

Super Mario Odyssey, BOTW, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are the first games I'd recommend getting. Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is amazing if you like RPGs, then 2 and 3 if you enjoy that. After playing BOTW give it a few months then play TOTK - it's definitely worth playing both. I'd get either Super Mario Party or Mario Party Superstars - whichever you like the look of more. Super Mario RPG is amazing if you want a more light-hearted RPG experience.
