@Gerald If you like that, I recommend The Frozen Ocean, one band I really want people to know about!
This is from his first album, In Exile. However, he put his first EP up for free download (https://thefrozenocean.bandcamp.com/album/s-t). Be warned though, because the style on it is not very consistent. It's emo, electronic, metal, etc....
I can, however, legally get you a free download of this album. He used to be on a record label called Come&Live!, which used to release all it's music for free! This was one of the albums available from their store. Let me know if you're interested!
Actually, I've really been into Kero Kero Bonito for a while. Who I would best describe as the adult coloring books of music. By that I mean, they're intentionally childish in a way specifically to appeal to adults, and they're great at it. Maybe less so for their new stuff, but they're still pretty great.
I sometimes forget they're not super popular because parts of the internet love them.
Hm... Obscure. I don't really have much of a sense of what is well-known and what is not, beyond obvious examples of what you usually hear on radio stations from each era.
It's a rather narrow interest, so I doubt anyone will appreciate it like I do, but I do know one band that I'm certain is obscure. As someone who really has gotten into British Folk/Rock over the years, it was nice to discover a much newer band similar in style of Steeleye Span, Pentangle, etc. Sadly, they are no more, but I only discovered them last year and have loved many of their songs since. They had an interesting run, with some songs played very safe (the two I posted below) and others given quite a twist. Either way, they appropriately keep that 'rustic' feel, while implementing some more current instrumentation:
@Harmonie I've never heard of them. You passed the test!
If you like that, I recommend Gungor. Though they may be well known in some circles (they have a Grammy-nomination,) I doubt that they are very mainstream.
I'm pretty sure you've never heard of them, but this is XTC, and they're a rock band. Always liked their music - they sadly haven't made a new album since 2000. This is one of their songs from the album Oranges & Lemons.
@MarioLover92 That album cover is groovy! The music was nice too!
If you like that, you might want to listen to This Beautiful Mess by Sixpence None the Richer. JUST DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR CHANNEL! Some butt-head took over their channel and is now putting up soccer videos! Nothing wrong with soccer, it's just that...well, I'm not happy about it. They even put up porn at one point (I didn't watch it, though.)
Let me introduce you to Renard Queenston, a furry musician (please don't kill me) who makes electronica music. She's been doing it since the 2000's, as far as I know. She also has a HECK ton of different aliases to release music under, including the following, Kitsune2.
