Topic: Series Nintendo needs to revisit

The main one I want is Golden Sun. I was kinder to the DS game than some people were but it was still far below the GBA games and ended on a cliffhanger, so I think the series deserves to go out on something better. At the very least, the Super Mario RPG remake made me want to see the first 2 games come back with similar yet no longer pre-rendered 3D.

Also its been far too long. I also badly want a new Rhythm Heaven but at least that got a game on 3DS.

A new Punch-Out would be so good. Wii was basically just a reimagining of the the first two, but it showed that Next Level is capable of something amazing. More complicated puzzles with advanced hardware would make it a must-play on any system, and they could stuff it full of a lot more content since it wouldn’t take that much work to develop.

I would rather choose ARMS get sequel as I really want another 3D boxing games with camera angle exactly I want, the 3rd person view and you can move freely in 3D stage, unlike Punch Out that you just only hit and dodge. Not interesting in my opinion.

Donkey Kong and Kid Icarus for sure. No new DK game in a decade is shameful, especially if it's just because Retro has been too busy with Metroid. Kid Icarus needs Uprising to be remastered first with better controls before getting a new game.

Otherwise, I think ARMS deserves a sequel. That game had so much potential at first, but just quietly left the scene as the years went by.

I think this is a very interesting topic as the Switch being such a juggernaut (still the most recent Nintendo system over 7 years later) makes the topic weird to some extent. I mean like for example Rhythm Heaven has been mentioned a few times here, its most recent release was Megamix in 2016 which is only a year earlier than the last 3D Mario (Odyssey in 2017).

@Grumblevolcano I feel like it's mostly an issue of expectations. Everyone is 100% convinced there will be a first-year 3D Mario on Switch 2, but it is a lot less clear if Rhythm Heaven is even coming back — it seems to have skipped one generation, so who knows if it will skip 2 generations?

ARMS obviously is a game which is on Switch but it is unclear if it was a one-off or the start of a series.

Another game I enjoyed very much is Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. A sequel with even more charm would be awesome.

Duck Hunt would be cool if they made it more Banjo-Kazooie-esque like they are in Smash. Maybe bring it back as something of a cross between BK and Metroid II?

Other than that, I'd like to see Donkey Kong Country, Wario Land, and Captain Toad. I also wouldn't be opposed to Star Tropics if they can find a way to make it stand out instead of just feeling like a Zelda clone.

Still a shorter gap than there was between 64 and Returns. Although I guess in that gap there was Jungle Beat, Konga, King of Swing and Jungle Climber and a bunch of Mario vs DK games while in this last gap it's just been a couple of Mario vs DK games.....

Murasame Castle. I feel like they should revisit this IP. There is so much potential in this IP.

As in you have to go around "collecting" ducks to progress the game.

That's not a bad idea, it would be a nice way to revive the IP without coming across as glorifying actual hunting.

I would [italic]love[/italic] to see AMRS II but somehow I doubt that will ever happen.
