I have decided that I am in the minority of folks who feel that Helldivers II is overrated. I do like: the gear progression. I don't like: the movement, the gunplay, the friendly-fire, or the multi-input commands for strategems. Aside from the flashy splosions...the Earth Defense Force series does all of this but better.

Just being honest.

So, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth does let you freely choose between a few different alternate costumes for your party, but for whatever inane reason this feature seems to be locked to around 1/3rd of the map area of a single region.

Once you get too far away from Costa Del Sol the game forces everyone back to their default outfits. It's not just the beachwear either. All alternate costumes can only be worn in the tropical portion of Corel, even if the story portion of the game they were introduced in isn't related to Costa Del Sol at all.

For example, Yuffie wears a fancy dress during a certain cutscene at the Gold Saucer, and although you unlock the outfit afterwards, she can't actually wear it there. You have to go back to the area around Costa Del Sol to do so (the same is true for the beachwear, as well as the Shinra military gear you obtain during the Junon chapter).

Everything is fully coded for combat & exploration, the game just arbitrarily limits the feature for whatever reason I can't fathom. It'd be better if they didn't give the option at all rather than open it up and pull it away soon after.

Just to be clear this is a small issue in an otherwise fantastic game (though once again Fort Condor can do one. Luckily it hasn't popped back up yet), it's just so frustrating because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Been dabbling in PSO2 NGS here and there again. I kind of don't like how the new-player complimentary gear gives me an express lane through the story. I haven't had to use item enhancement at all because I'm walking through. Just a casual observer.

Reached Chapter 14 of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth this morning and let me tell you… most of the words coming out of my mouth since I began Chapter 13 have been one of three: “what”, “the”, and a certain swear word. This game has left me on tenterhooks for hours now and it’s blowing my mind at times. The story is superb and I’m being left just the right amount in the dark in order to fully enjoy the twists of the story.

That said, when it comes to playing the game (the cutscenes are immaculate and superbly directed) Rebirth is unbelievably unpolished and janky. Some of the sections are blatant filler and it boggles the mind how on earth this kind of garbage was allowed past quality control and play testing. Chapter 11, Chapter 6, Chapter 2 in particular are very guilty of unnecessary padding. There were times when I wanted to throw the controller at the wall. Square has a brilliant story and cast of characters, and the game is already very long, how do they have such little imagination that they have to resort to the lowest level of game design?

How many people on here have a PS Vita? I bought one a few days ago and i really like it!

@Groovz
I prefer 3DS over than PS VITA.
PS VITA games library are too awful for my taste, almost no interesting kids games, almost every PS VITA games are also on PS4 so I don't need the PS VITA version.

@Groovz I have the LCD model and I really like it. There are not many games for the Vita that I like but still it is awesome system with few but solid games.

I own:
1. God of War 1&2 Collection - it is perfect!
2. Minecraft
3. Mortal Kombat (9)
4. Resident Evil Revelations 2
5. Injustice Gods Among Us

And I am looking to expand those with:
1. Uncharted Golden Abyss
2. Borderlands 2
3. Assassin's Creed Liberation
4. Terraria
5. Shovel Knight

ShonenJump121

@Groovz I haven't had time to use mine, but the Vita does have some great games on it.

Muramasa Rebirth
Unit 13
Tearaway
Gravity Rush
Killzone Mercenary
Freedom Wars
Soul Sacrifice

One of the main reasons it failed was because Sony gave up on it super early, and so by a few years into the system's lifestyle, it had very little first party wise.

It would be like if Nintendo made a few first party games for the 3DS and then went "Eh, that's enough." and never made anything else.

Well, because I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games so 3DS games library with tons of kids games variety is perfect for me than PS VITA games library that filled with more rated 18+ games, boring mainstream sport games (fiffa, NBA, etc), inappropriate visual novel games, etc that doesn't even look appealing for me.

Groovz

@Anti-Matter i agree with you that it has a lot of mature games, but can't you just appreciate the vita for what it is and not trash it because its library doesn't appeal to you?
Also, there are some Lego games that are better on the Vita.
For example. Lego Chima and the Ninjago games.

@Groovz
Well, I know Lego Chima and Ninjago PS VITA version look better than 3DS version, but... I still cannot get a lot of PS VITA kids games I can consider because I will not buy video game machines if I only can get less than 6 kids games as it will not looks a worthy purchase.
I have ever had a wish to get PS VITA just for curiosity but it get buried by other video games hype as I still unsure how many kids games with a few rated Teen games I can get from PS VITA.
So far, these are PS VITA games I want to play.

Reality Fighters (Teen, 12+, CERO B)
Pets
Modnation Racers Road Trip
Lego Chima
Little Deviants
Tearaway
Danball Senki W
Invizimals (2 versions)
Lego Ninjago Droids (Not sure)
Lego Ninjago Ronin (Not sure either)
Smart As...

Still... Very few PS VITA games I can consider added with the discontinuation situation, to find used PS VITA in OFW condition, No jailbreak is really hard.
Also, PS VITA battery life is worse than 3DS.

Groovz

@Anti-Matter What do you mean it's hard to find an unmodded ps vita? There were a lot on ebay last i checked

Groovz

Anti-Matter

@Groovz
I live in Indonesia, the country that have a lot of jailbreak and modded PlayStation and other video game machines.
Currently, to find OFW PS VITA in Indonesia is really hard as almost all the PS VITA machines here in Indonesia are already jailbreak CFW Henkaku, so it really put the original gamers in disadvantage.
Actually I found 2 - 3 OFW PS VITA machines in Indonesia from local online shopping website Tokopedia but I still unsure if the machines are really in great condition even they are used items.

I personally will not thinking to get that game on Switch 2.
That game needs at least PS5 power to get better performance.

Re: Vita games, maybe you ought to look into the Atelier series?
They're not kids games per se, but there's hardly much objectionable in them, and they have a very gentle, girly aesthetic that you seem to enjoy. There's like 10 installments on the vita too.
As for games actually aimed at kids/families, I suppose there's Little Big Planet Vita and Everyone's Golf.

I'm not a fan of Atelier series as i'm not interested with Moe looking girl characters.
I prefer handsome athletic / muscular looking guys instead.
If talking about girlie games, it must targeting for girl audiences with no fan service intention such as Cooking Mama games, Princess Peach games, Imagine / My Universe games, Barbie games, Style Savvy games, Nicola Kanshu games, etc. .
I don't even like watching sexy bikini girls / big boobs female characters wandering around all the times.
I prefer shirtless six pack guys over than sexy bikini girls.

But there is one Atelier game that I have interest for having cute Chibi looking design like Nendoroid, it is Atelier Marie Remake.
I'm not crazy for the girl characters over there as my intention for that Atelier game is for the male characters.

The only exception for sexy looking girl characters that I don't really mind is from FF X-2 as I knew the game have kinda Charlie's Angel's vibe.
