Topic: Nintendo Switch Lite won't connect after system update

Okay, so, to put it simply, I got a Nintendo switch lite for my birthday. It's second hand, and the people before me didn't factory reset it before they gave it to my parents.

It needed an update before I could reset it, so I updated it. Mind you, while I'm in the process of updating and reseting it, it needed me to connect to the WiFi, and it connected just fine.

I updated it, reset it, and tried to reconnect to my WiFi. It wouldn't connect. It couldn't even find my WiFi, or any others in my area. I tried different Hotspot and nothing shows up.

I went and took it to someone who I thought might know what was wrong, but even that person didn't know what's wrong. Everything else is working just fine, my switch just can't connect to any wireless internet. Any ideas on what to do?

@Lizzzzzz When did you perform the update? I ask because the most recent software update, released on April 22nd, was specifically to fix a problem where the console wouldn't detect wifi access points with certain security settings.

Check which version you're on in the system settings, the most recent version is 18.0.1. If yours is earlier than that, Nintendo's advice is to temporarily change your wifi's security to WPA2 (AES) to download the update.

@CinnamonRobin I updated it a few days ago (Sunday, April 28th). I checked the version that I'm on, and it is 18.0.1. I'm not currently at home right now, but when I get home I'll try to see if changing the wifi's security to WPA2 (AES) does actually work.

I would recommended a Reset so it's only your data that will be on the Lite.
