Re: Retro Nintendo Games Are Returning To Animal Crossing (Sort Of)

Suketoudara

So Nintendo can get rid of the annoying borders here, but not on the main NSO >_< Been hoping for years they'd let us turn those things off and hide our profile icon!

@Waluigi451 It would've been cool if they had games not included with NSO. Imagine if you could buy a GBA and play Animal Crossing New Leaf on it😂

Re: Surprise! Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Arrives Next Year

Suketoudara

@Zeebor15 I have mixed feelings. Love the new Nintendo/lego themed items and the dream collaboration island seems like it could be fun with GameChat! Designing in mouse mode seems like it could be enjoyable too.

But the Kapp'n island seems like a total rehash of the Happy Home DLC where they could've brought back the minigame island or done something more unique and what have they done to Mr Resetti's firey personality?! No 60fps in the Switch 2 version is a bit of a bummer too. I know it's not essential in a game like this, but the added smoothness of the first GameCube Animal Crossing than ran at 60fps was really nice. I hope the next game has it.

Re: Two Classic Donkey Kong Icons May Soon Join Bananza As Unlockable Figures

@rjejr

$20 dlc to enjoy your $70 single player game that you just bought that you had to buy a new $450 console to play.

I agree the DLC is expensive which is one of the reasons I passed on it, as well as the concept not appealing, but you have to buy a console in order to play ANY game so not really sure why you're including that in the cost? Plus it's hardly like you're only paying that for one game, it's a long term investment.

This reminds me of those ridiculous videos from clickbait YouTubers saying Mario Kart World is a $500 game.

Re: Nintendo Updates Its Music App With Another DS Soundtrack

Suketoudara

@OrtadragoonX Much of the soundtrack isn't great but the first "bah! bah! music is iconic.

The weakest part of the game was the visuals/art direction for me. I see a lot of people now saying it looked fresh or good at the time but even when it first came out I remember thinking it looked like a Flash PC fan game and didn't have the charm of the older 2D titles. I loved the multiplayer stylus mini games though.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sold 5.8 Million Copies Globally In Its First Week

Suketoudara

@Elektrogeist1287 I've blocked people with the "how dare you buy the game because it doesn't meet MY standards" mentality too. Hate on the game, fine, but hating on people who are enjoying it is gross. It's like because they're miserable about the state of Pokémon they want everyone else to be as miserable as they are.

Plus most of the time they're just raging about the graphics and not even the gameplay. They assume people have low standards when it's more like a lot of people genuinely don't care about the textures of the balconies etc or even notice these things as they're having too much fun - which is the whole point of videogames BTW

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct #2: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate it?

Suketoudara

Outstanding! I went from a Maybe to a OMG, I can't wait! The sheer amount of content and longevity this is going to have is incredible.

As someone who's not a big online player I was really disappointed Sonic CrossWorlds didn't have the story/campaign mode of the previous Sonic racing games.

Really glad this hasn't gone in the same direction and Mario Kart World will have to up it's ante too, even though it's probably my most played solo Mario Kart since Mario Kart DS (mainly thanks to the 400 P Switch missions!)

I hope we see some healthy rivalry and get some good Mario Kart DLC. Back in the day Nintendo's president Yamauchi used to deliberately pit their developers against each other (I know HAL isn't technically a Nintendo developer) to increase competition. They would compete to win his approval and he'd say "so and so team has done this or that, why didn't you?" Iwata put a stop to it and fostered or more collaborative environment where the teams could work together.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?

Suketoudara

NSO. I went from Commodore 64 to SNES so never actually owned a NES, thus it's been my first time experiencing most of these games, other than the ones I played on my "NES" in Animal Crossing GameCube 20 something years ago!

Before the SNES my only experience of Nintendo were my Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros and Snoopy Tennis Game and Watches!

Re: Poll: Is It About Time Game Freak Added Voice Acting To Pokémon?

Suketoudara

@Yosher GameFreak has said Nintendo has no say over the Pokémon games development as they're independent from them and as I understand it The Pokémon Company sets the budget. It's because of that weird three way ownership Nintendo, GameFreak and The Pokémon Company have. Nintendo is basically just the distributor.

Re: Nintendo's "Mysterious" Switch Online Playtest Program Gets Another Patent

Suketoudara

"The industry as a whole" does this too, it's very normal and common. And FAO the news stories about them patenting simply summoning up an enemy to help you were incorrect/misinformation and it's been debunked:

https://www.theverge.com/games/779062/nintendo-pokemon-summoning-battle-patent

Funnily enough the debunking didn't get nearly as much traction and I don't remember all the ragebait YouTube video channels who were frothing at the mouths over that BS covering it.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorld's First "Premium" DLC Pack Arrives This Week

Suketoudara

What, they announced the DLC before launch like Pokemon Z-A?! Well that's plain outrageous, EVIL and disgusting! Stop supporting this multi billion dollar corporation, shills and bootlickers!! I'm off to make 10 YouTube videos on this with crying AI Amy Rose on the thumbnails!

Oh wait, wrong company, it's not a Nintendo game, nothing to see here, please carry on as normal and enjoy 🙂

Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me

Suketoudara

I'll wait until I've tried the Switch 2 version of Crossworlds before passing final judgement but I can't say I was at all impressed by the Switch demo... felt janky, rough and overstimulating with too much visual and audio clutter. And the gimmick of randomly changing into another track was far more jarring for me than having to drive between tracks which I actually don't mind (even though I hope Nintendo eventually gives people the option to choose not to online)

And worst of all, it has no single player campaign/story mode like ALL the other Sonic racing games did and as someone who doesn't play a lot of online, that's a big disappointment, especially as Mario Kart World has the most single player content of any Mario Kart yet and I've spent over 100 hours in the Free Roam mode. These modes added so much longevity to the previous games, I don't know what SEGA was thinking?

Mario Kart World still needs some Quality of Life changes but it's a class act, extremely polished and fun with the most personality I've seen a Mario Kart since Double Dash. And of course that incredible soundtrack. Sonic Crossworlds felt to me like a cheap dopamine factory live service type aimed more at Fortnite players than SEGA fans :-/ And I heard a horrible rumour that Skibidi Toilet might be a future DLC for it (please no)

But as I said maybe I'll enjoy the Switch 2 version more, hopefully it'll get a demo too, although because of the lack of single player content if I do enjoy it I'll likely buy it later on sale.

Re: Review: KUUKIYOMI 4: Consider It Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Delightfully Silly, With Plenty Of Dark Laughs

Suketoudara

Thanks for reviewing this @PJ O'Reilly! I'm so pleased Nintendo Life's finally reviewed one of them. They're genuinely laugh out loud funny and an interesting look into Japanese culture/humour. Don't sleep on them people if you like WarioWare type mini games, but more relaxing and low pressure. Plus they're a complete bargain.

I still haven't played mine yet though as planning to do so with a friend next week.

Mostly aimed at the console itself, I got a lot of laughs out of cheeky takes on 120fps gaming, how the console's mic works, and what HDR stands for.

Don't tell me they're parodying Welcome Tour?!

BTW I just saw the game has a DLC too called Dire Situations that features 30 more difficult scenarios of a dramatic nature that will "test your survival instinct" like a zombie outbreak, meteorite shower etc

Re: Digital Foundry Breaks Down Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 On Switch 1 & 2

Suketoudara

I've just played through Yoshi's Island for the first time - the only 2D Mario I never played (and was blown away!) and will soon be playing through Mario Galaxy 2 which was the only 3D Mario I hadn't played. VERY excited!

Incidentally has anyone else noticed how that one planet boss in Yoshi's Island feels like a precursor to Mario Galaxy with you running around the edge of the planet and going upside down

And the final boss feels like a proto-Bowser's Fury with the giant (baby) Bowser in the background breathing fire at you
