Good stuff, I'm not usually the biggest fan of puzzle games but this looks pretty cool. I remember seeing the adverts for the original when I was younger and being interested, but never got it. I'll probably wait for some sort of sale to come up (still have a bunch of games to play which I haven't even touched), but this is definitley on my watch list.
This would be a easy decision, getting Super Mario Kart for essentially free with MK8, if it wasn't for Nintendo's extrotionate eShop prices for retail releases. Why should I buy a digital version of the game for £10 more than Amazon is selling? (assuming MK8 follows the trend of £49.99 for retail games)
I might get SpeedX 3D, I remember the original being ok as far as mobile games go. Tappingo also looks pretty cool.
Just to make 100% sure, can the download version of New Super Luigi U be played without New Super Mario Bros U? I don't really want to pay the £30 it costs for the original game, but I'd happily pay £13.50 for some quality 2D Mario goodness at a higher difficulty level.
I caught the end just as I woke up, only got to see Rhydon and Blastoise go down (Blue's last two Pokemon), but it was magical. The full successful Elite Four and Champion run should be up on YouTube, so I'll watch it soon. ALL HAIL HELIX!
This is sad... I mean REALLY sad... I know servers have to go down eventually, but its usually one or two games at a time, not entire platforms all at once. Online play wasn't a big part of Nintendo last generation, but I still play Mario Kart Wii once in a while these days, and that game is still insanely popular online. Guess I'll have to fulfill my dream of having over 9000 VR rank before then...
If nothing about this game gets annouced for UK by the time the US version comes out, I most likely will have to buy a American 2DS just for this game and all the other games Atlus is holding at ransom from Europe.
With all this doom-and-gloom talk with sales numbers, review scores, analysts and trolls everywhere you look in the gaming industry, its nice to see some good-hearted fun once in a while
Diddy being back is cool and all, but my question is what Samus is doing in the eighth screenshot. Looks like a new move to me.
@BAGBOY If in the very unlikely event Yoshi doesn't come back, I will dress up as a Yoshi and stick my tounge out at people all day. They're saving him for the Yarn Yoshi annoucement, trust me. They're not going to get rid of one of the original Smash 64 characters who is still extremely relevent.
Might end up getting Trine 2 for that price, and I'll most likely buy Bird Mania simply because it's less than a pound. I also might pick up Crimson Shroud and Liberation Maiden which are also on sale.
Seriously, do third parties WANT the Wii U to fail? The target audience for the Wii U version was already small enough, and now when/if they do release the Wii U version, that audience will be almost non-existant. And then Ubisoft will complain that the Wii U version did not sell well, so they will not give the console more support in the future, when its their fault as it is Nintendo's. Third parties are just as much to blame for the Wii U's poor software sales as Nintendo is.
RIP Wii U third party support, 2012-2014
I swear Ubisoft pissed off Nintendo fans this time last year as well... AHEMMraymanlegendsAHEMM
The Gamepad is the only thing that gives the Wii U any identity over the PS4 and Xbox One. Without it, it is just an underpowered system which can't compete on any level with its competitors. Removing it would be the final nail in the coffin for the console.
Looks slow and boring, there's just nothing in the trailer to get hyped about. I love the original Yoshi's Island, being the first non-Pokemon game I ever played, but I'm not excited about this game whatsoever.
Nice to see independent guys doing well, but I'd much rather see Capcom actually do something themselves with Mega Man for once which isn't a terrible iOS game...
I'm OK with Smash 4 not having a story mode (SSE was OK, but I could live without it), but the reason that Sakurai gives makes no sense at all to me. Every cutscene in every game gets uploaded to the Interent, and if everyone followed his thought process, what would be the point of even having cutscenes in any game? I simply don't understand him on this.
But as long as we get Classic, Event and All Star modes, and a Melee-style Adventure mode, it should be fine.
In terms of the stage, I'm actaully thinking the All-Star mode hub area. The background looks similar to Brawls, and those platforms would make good places to have the Heart Containers.
Okami HD, and hopefully I can get back into Persona 4 after not playing it for a few weeks. Also a bit of Mario Kart Wii online, which I'm playing to mark the end of my Wii era since I'm getting a Wii U next week. The first game my Wii played will also be the last one it'll play while having a dedicated spot under my TV.
Its kinda amazing how something that is extremely easy to do wasn't discovered until just under 14 years since the game came out, and how new stuff is being discovered in games years, sometimes decades, after they first released. The AGDQ stream really made be interested in speed-running, so this actually pretty exciting more me.
Eh, I'd just get the PS1 version on PSN if I ever want this game. The art style simply don't look as good as the other versions, plus its cheaper on both the Wii Shop and PSN.
@Kroisos Because Nintendo takes a share of the profits for every game sold for their hardware from third parties. If you take away that support, that is a lot of money down the drain. And without third party games, many people simply won't buy the console, which reduces the overall software sales for the console more. Just like how third parties rely on the console manufacturers to offer a platform to develop for, console developers rely on third parties to sell the hardware.
Nintendo completely screwed up when designing the Wii U. By making the architecture so different to the Xbox One and PS4 (and even the 360 and PS3) and making it so comparatively weaker to the other eighth gen systems, they have alienated thrid parties in terms of multiplatform games, which frequently are the most profitable games for them. Third parties simply do not want to develop multiplats for the Wii U, and when they do the games are poorly optimized and sell the worst of all platforms by a long shot in most instances.
Nintendo are not doomed, and the Wii U is still completely worth buying for many people for Nintendo exclusive titles alone. But to be honest, with every bad article that comes out, I see the the chances of the Wii U being Nintendo's last home console go up more and more.
The 3DS though, is doing absolutely amazingly and Nintendo are doing a fine job with it.
Even though its sad that they're pretty much dead now, its hard to care since they haven't made a good game in almost ten years. I say let the company die so the employees that are still there can move onto bigger and better things.
@B3ND3R I ment the anime dub, not the game voice acting. So far there's been no announcement of the localisation of anything Attack On Titan as far as I know, so we could wait years for the anime dub to end, and only then could the game come out since it has the entire story in it.
I watched the anime a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, so if this game ever comes to the West I'd be sure to pick it up. Too bad even it if ever comes out here (which to be honest is unlikely), it most likely will have to wait for the English dub to finish, and that could take years...
It is completey fine to have local multiplayer in games, in fact I think games that have online multiplayer but not local multiplayer are just stupid.
But, we are now in 2014, decades after online multiplayer was introduced. There is absolutley no excuse not to have online in your games now. How would having online ruin the living room experience? People who just want to play locally can just ignore the online aspects, and it would only please people who play online. I would of gotten a Wii U much earlier if I could play Mario with friends who live hours away, instead of having to wait sometimes months to see them in person.
Nintendo needs to get into the 21st centuary, this is unaccpetable.

So much bad luck on Maple Treeway, got knocked off four times!

One point difference @DreamyViridi! So close to beating you!

Second in that race and first in the room! Let's go @DreamyViridi and @FubumblR!

DCed... And I was doing somewhat well in that race...
Re: Play: Mario Kart 7 with Nintendo Life - The Return
7th, no big suprise there.

4th overall, but with how well I was doing before, that's a victory for me!

2nd on Maple Treeway. first good race I've had in ages...

Seriously? A freaking Blooper in 6th? Terrible item, along with the Tanooki Tail...
Re: Play: Mario Kart 7 with Nintendo Life - The Return
Is it just me, or are people just way more evil with their items in 7 than they are in Wii? Anyway, joint last with 10 points...

Blue shell... But I was in second D:
Re: Play: Mario Kart 7 with Nintendo Life - The Return

Maybe I shouldn't use B-Dasher with Slick tyres after not playing for five months...
Re: Play: Mario Kart 7 with Nintendo Life - The Return
Tied second in the GP with Luigi Man! Awesome! And somehow won my first race since August...
