Re: Opening Sales for Nintendo Switch in North America Set a New High

@Hotfusion The PS4 sold 250k & XboxOne 150k but they launched in November, the peak selling period for any product. They also arrived on a wave of excitement from E3, the Switch hasn't had an E3 as yet.

The main problem for Nintendo is that this E3 will be dominated by Project Scorpio so they need a BIG showing at E3 with lots of quality 3rd party support.

@JaxonH I'm also happy with that. FIFA isn't a reason I'm buying a Switch. What I meant was that people who love Fifa, CoD etc won't buy a Switch if there is a better version available. As I've said in previous comments, games like that aren't what Nintendo consoles are about but they do shift systems. A lack of high spec 3rd party games is why the Wii U failed.

I just hope that people understand what the Switch is about. It's an alternative where you can have fun playing online or sat on the same sofa. I think the advertising will help get that message across but it won't necessarily convert PS & Xbox fans that can afford one console.

I don't know about anybody else but I've been playing Xbox One & PS4 since they launched and now I'm bored beyond belief.

The games are melting into one big messy genre that existed in the 360 & PS3.

This is why Nintendo should always try to be different.

If you want to play CoD, BF etc then why would you play on a system with weaker graphical capabilities? That's not what the big N is about. They provide an alternative, a space where colour, fun, imagination & a mature, friendly, social environment exist.

That's why I love Nintendo.

The issue here is that Nintendo are selling this a home console not a handheld so FPS games from 3rd parties should be ok.

We, as Nintendo fans need to realise that the Switch, in the eyes of many Devs, is still a Wii U. Yes it has the option to be used as a handheld, but it's still a Nintendo console not a mainstream system like PlayStation or Xbox. 3rd parties will not bring their big franchises to it unless it sells well.

BUT it's going to be a great Nintendo console and that's what really matters to us.

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

I've preordered one because of my love for Nintendo but I have a few reservations. Firstly the price. The system isn't that expensive but add in a game, joycon charger grip, case & Pro controller and it's £400. That's a lot of money for a system that will have games that the Wii U could handle.

Secondly the battery life especially when charging the joycons on the go.

Lastly the distinct lack of 3rd party support at launch.

Saying that, I'm getting one because of the portability and first party games.
