@Hotfusion The PS4 sold 250k & XboxOne 150k but they launched in November, the peak selling period for any product. They also arrived on a wave of excitement from E3, the Switch hasn't had an E3 as yet.
The main problem for Nintendo is that this E3 will be dominated by Project Scorpio so they need a BIG showing at E3 with lots of quality 3rd party support.
I've had big problems with my neon left Joycon. If my knee is in front of it, I get lag and I've even had moments where Link just keeps running when I stop.
I've tried the dock in front of the TV and behind with no luck.
@FragRed I ordered from my local shop back in January and I'm good to go as well. This is one of the reasons I always order in store instead of online.
@JaxonH I'm also happy with that. FIFA isn't a reason I'm buying a Switch. What I meant was that people who love Fifa, CoD etc won't buy a Switch if there is a better version available. As I've said in previous comments, games like that aren't what Nintendo consoles are about but they do shift systems. A lack of high spec 3rd party games is why the Wii U failed.
I just hope that people understand what the Switch is about. It's an alternative where you can have fun playing online or sat on the same sofa. I think the advertising will help get that message across but it won't necessarily convert PS & Xbox fans that can afford one console.
@sillygostly Exactly! The Switch is a home console, not a portable so it needs a proper version of FIFA not a downgraded, feature less port. For the sake of the Switch in regards to non Nintendo fans purchasing the system, FIFA 18 needs to be up there with the Xbox One version at least.
I don't know about anybody else but I've been playing Xbox One & PS4 since they launched and now I'm bored beyond belief.
The games are melting into one big messy genre that existed in the 360 & PS3.
This is why Nintendo should always try to be different.
If you want to play CoD, BF etc then why would you play on a system with weaker graphical capabilities? That's not what the big N is about. They provide an alternative, a space where colour, fun, imagination & a mature, friendly, social environment exist.
@UmbreonsPapa There are limits at some shops but they preorder through many outlets, local shops, big retainers and there's at least 15 online stores as well. The only way to really so it is for people to have to register on a central database but that isn't gonna happen.
The problem is that, like PS4 & Xbox One launches, a lot of consoles are snapped up by people that the sell them on eBay. I think the Switch will sell very well at first but Nintendo need to carry the momentum and secure the 3rd party support.
The issue here is that Nintendo are selling this a home console not a handheld so FPS games from 3rd parties should be ok.
We, as Nintendo fans need to realise that the Switch, in the eyes of many Devs, is still a Wii U. Yes it has the option to be used as a handheld, but it's still a Nintendo console not a mainstream system like PlayStation or Xbox. 3rd parties will not bring their big franchises to it unless it sells well.
BUT it's going to be a great Nintendo console and that's what really matters to us.
@MarcelRguez point taken but the confusion over what the Wii U was will remain with the Switch. Casual & mobile gamers will see it as a tablet, which many already have.
@MarcelRguez The Wii U had a lot of games at launch and even had AAA 3rd party games. In comparison this launch is awful. I've preordered mine and will always support Nintendo but I'm not convinced it will do any better.
3rd party support is terrible and a lot of Devs/publishers will wait and see how it sells but without their early support, sales will take a hit.
Not a good sign. EA will bring FIFA and then leave without saying good bye. I'm not bothered about Battlefield, Fifa and the like but they do help shift boxes.
I've preordered one because of my love for Nintendo but I have a few reservations. Firstly the price. The system isn't that expensive but add in a game, joycon charger grip, case & Pro controller and it's £400. That's a lot of money for a system that will have games that the Wii U could handle.
Secondly the battery life especially when charging the joycons on the go.
Lastly the distinct lack of 3rd party support at launch.
Saying that, I'm getting one because of the portability and first party games.
Bit off topic but I want to take the Switch on holiday without the dock. Anybody know whether it's possible to charge the joycons without the dock? Or do I need the recharging joycon grip?
@Sinton in a way it's not even competing with them. It's something that's different enough to warrant somebody buying it as a second console because of the potability. It is the only console you can play Nintendo games on. If it gets suitable 3rd party support it should do well.
@Darkwario1 With puns like that I was tempted to hit the report button but your comedy keeps the net afloat. I've been trawling through these comments and your jokes are terrible but also a ray of sunshine. You must be a laugh at your plaice! I'm running out of lines now.

I'll be finishing Mario Odyssey, ranking up with Splatoon 2 and demon demolishing with Doom. Might even grab Arms from the eshop sale

Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Cancelling Nintendo Switch Preorders Days Before Launch
@tudsworth I agree. I prefer going in and chatting about games than saving money and ordering online, I prefer the experience.
Re: New Frontier Days Becomes A Nintendo Switch Launch Game
Such as riding on them and??
Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Cancelling Nintendo Switch Preorders Days Before Launch
@tudsworth That and the fact that if people don't shop in store, staff lose their jobs.

@TheWretchedCrow I know what you mean. I was going to place an order but I'm not sure about it now.
Re: Video: I Am Setsuna's Nintendo Switch Launch Trailer Piles On The Accolades
@TheWretchedCrow It's listed on the Argos website. I'm not sure Argos have ever listed digital before so I'm guessing it's physical.
Re: Video: I Am Setsuna's Nintendo Switch Launch Trailer Piles On The Accolades
@markie7235 We're getting a physical in the UK.

@FragRed It hasn't. He's just guessing it will to be a bit negative.
Re: It's Still Quite Easy to Secure a Launch Day Nintendo Switch in the UK
My mate works in our local Game shop, where I ordered my Switch and according to him, including mine, they've had 3 pre orders.

Motion controls incoming.

Re: 13AM Games Confirms Runbow Pocket is Close, But Deluxe Retail Release Will Skip Europe
@Folkloner I hope so. I couldn't put Runner 2 down.
Re: 13AM Games Confirms Runbow Pocket is Close, But Deluxe Retail Release Will Skip Europe
@LordGeovanni If you've got a Wii U, try Runner 2. It's a very addictive game.
Re: 13AM Games Confirms Runbow Pocket is Close, But Deluxe Retail Release Will Skip Europe
Runner 2 was one my favourite Wii U games. I really hope they release it on eShop for Switch. It's the perfect on the go game

@Shiryu don't normally pull people up on spelling but if you're waiting for days until your lunch you'll be starving 😂😂😂

@gamermole Same here. I'm hoping for a midnight launch but I normally get home do the system update and nod off.
Re: Feature: Reflecting on Time Spent With the Nintendo Switch
I'm worried about 3rd party support, battery life & price of accessories but then I remember ZELDA ON THE BOG! Take my money now!

Re: Talking Point: Handheld or Console? - With Nintendo Switch, Does it Matter?
Preordered mine so I've got it to take in holiday In April. Perfect for the plane journey and relaxing in the hotel room.
Loved the off TV play on the Wii U so can't wait.

At £35 no. Not a chance. Should have been a pack in. This Switch is getting very expensive.

Re: Yes, You Can Charge Your Nintendo Switch In Tabletop Mode
Can't wait to get my hands on the console but it's getting very expensive.
£280 console + £50 game + £35 decent battery + £15 case and that's without a Pro controller.
I wanted this for a 4 hour flight and 2 hours at the airport. Looks like hand held is the only way to play & charge.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Anti-Matter No they don't but you are being a bit short sighted. There's a lot of games that aren't violent on Xbox & PS and you're missing out.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Anti-Matter There are a hell of a lot of very good Japenese games on PS4 as well you know.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Anti-Matter that's the problem with Nintendo, they don't cater for all tastes whereas Sony & MS do.
