@Exerion76 Definitely a bizarre choice. My guess is it's leftover from when this was meant as a Switch 1 title, but they really should've scrapped it in favor of DLSS.
What an... odd controller review. Like, the drift complaint is especially strange imo, cause I've put in probably thousands of hours on my original pro controller without a sign of drifting. Assuming this one is the same, not should be completely fine. Just because a controller doesn't use hall effect sticks, doesn't mean it'll drift in like 5 minutes lol.
@harrystein Look, if you are actually interested in hearing an opinion on this, I'm not typing it all out. I don't have a time for that right now. The YouTuber shortcat made a pretty good video breaking down the many design issues of the intermission tracks. And no, I'm not basing my opinions off his video, I just find it to reflect mine pretty well. I'll link below if you're actually interested in the gripes I and others have https://youtu.be/_o3mF1oL00o?si=Hy49X_pks1XtvLhe
That's pretty sweet. Definitely looking forward to this one. Though it is annoying it comes out of the day after Bananza lol. Like give me some time to breathe darn it!
I haven't really played much new on Switch or Switch 2 this year. Would've been Mario kart but we all know what happened there. So, fast fusion wins by default I guess? And then on terms of non-Switch games, I guess I would say Avowed. It was fun I guess. And if we remove the restriction of it releasing this year it would be God of War 2018. Can't believe I didn't play that game sooner.
@SuperBro64 As someone who is very upset about the new update, there's two things I want to say. Firstly, don't let us ruin it for you. I'm glad you enjoy the game, even if I can't right now. But secondly, I'm going to keep complaining about it, because the only way this gets fixed is if Nintendo sees us being vocal about it. Trust me, I understand your sentiment, I felt the same way with Zelda totk when that released. But you just enjoy what you enjoy, don't let negativity ruin your fun
@datamonkey Not sure. It's unlikely any human literature survived into the post apocalypse we are in Splatoon, so it would be impossible for them to read any books we know.
@Dr_Lugae Cause they're mostly straight lines? Same reason baby park is luck based (when you really think about it, most of that track is straight lines). I don't really find it takes much skill to take the obvious move and use your items to drive in straight lines through the off-road instead. Compare that to standard races where you have to manage sharp turns, item management is more important because bagging isn't as broken, and there are loads of shortcuts to learn and execute. And those shortcuts and alternate paths are the real difference maker. This is legitimately the first Mario kart where I have spent a significant amount of time doing time trials, because you need to learn how to execute all the wall riding and rail grinding to be at the top of the game. It's so cool, but now it doesn't matter, because you maybe get one lap if you're lucky.
@Dr_Lugae I've literally played them for hours, it's a crazy assumption to say I haven't given them a chance. And yes, they are mostly straight lines, you literally just have to look at the minimap to see it. I'm also not saying I completely hate them, but they're just not nearly as fun as standard three lap races. Additionally as I mentioned in a previous comment, they are way more lucky based due to the mostly straight driving, leading to them being frustrating to play in high VR rooms, where you can lose multiple races worth of progress due to unlucky item pulls.
@Dr_Lugae But the thing is that we tried "giving them a real chance", and they're worse. They're mostly just straight lines with little to no strategy or skill. Not to mention the nightmare that is bagging on the intermission tracks.
I actually think the use case he's describing in this answer seems fairly reasonable, as they would serve to speed up development and not necessarily to replace people. Now if he's being truthful is another matter entirely.
@Zeebor15 Um, it's not on the same day though? There's two weeks separating them. Also you can just get the Kirby dlc for 20, you don't need to pay the full price for the game again lol.
I'd give it a 9. It has my favorite controls in any Mario Kart game, an excellent track selection, knockout tour, and I actually enjoy the intermission sections (people calling them boring are whack, if anything they're too chaotic). But free roam is really undercooked, and it's a decent launch title, but BoTW it is not.

Re: Fall Guys Rolls Out Frame Rate Update On Switch 2
Heck yeah. This game is honestly pretty fun. Definitely trying this out.
Re: Review: Tales Of The Shire: A The Lord Of The Rings Game (Switch) - The Hobbit, Or "There It Crashed Again"
Well this is thoroughly unsurprising
Re: Ubisoft Reportedly Cancels Star Wars Outlaws Sequel
Someone should ask Ubisoft if gigantic flops make the industry more fun.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Party Jamboree For Switch 2?
The camera is unfortunately not worth it, so no.
Re: Xbox Will Reportedly Announce "More Game Ports" For Other Platforms Soon
I have literally never heard of this guy, so no idea how reliable he is.
Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Has Been Rated For Switch 2
Gee, I wonder if there could possibly be a direct soon announcing a release date.
Re: Acclaimed Puzzler 'Viewfinder' Bends Reality On Switch This Winter
Took it long enough lol. It's really good, if you like stuff like Portal, give this a try.
Re: Hitman: World Of Assassination Has A Hidden 'Performance Mode' On Switch 2
@nocdaes Tbf, handheld performance is a lot better than docked, and I'd imagine that's the way most wanted to play it.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Credits Confirm The Voice Actors Behind DK And Pauline
I have no strong thoughts, but I'm guessing somebody who shows up in these comments will lol.
Re: "Somewhat Mixed" - Digital Foundry Delivers Its Technical Analysis Of Donkey Kong Bananza
@Exerion76 Definitely a bizarre choice. My guess is it's leftover from when this was meant as a Switch 1 title, but they really should've scrapped it in favor of DLSS.
Re: Nintendo Announces First Cast Members For The Legend Of Zelda Movie
@Fizza Tbf, most of the Mario movie cast are legitimately talented actors. It was just that some of them were miscast.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Global Jam' Demo Event For Switch 2 Online Members
@Zeebor15 Wait, there was a steel diver 3?

Re: Feature: Three Laps, Two Players, One Vegas Jumpsuit - 10 Things We'd Love To See Added To Mario Kart World
@harrystein Lol, I argue your point and you immediately get upset. Just an amusing observation, nothing more.
Re: Feature: Three Laps, Two Players, One Vegas Jumpsuit - 10 Things We'd Love To See Added To Mario Kart World
@harrystein Except neither of thos c things are usually faster. Straight drifting is an absolutely terrible strategy in this game.
Re: Random: Yes, Pope Leo Really Did Sign A Popplio Pokémon Card
This is delightful
Re: Fantasy Life i Switch 2 Physical Release And Photo Mode Update Announced
Oh my goodness, it's an actual physical release. Shocking honestly
Re: Poll: How Many Hours Have You Spent In Mario Kart World So Far?
I have 50+ but probably won't play much more. The update really ruined it for me tbh.
Re: Random: Of Course Helldivers Are Now Calling For A Switch 2 Port
I'm still kind of in shock the Xbox port is happening lol. I knew a lot of people wanted to but dang, never expected it to really happen.
Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Donkey Kong Bananza
Got to try the in-store demo today. It was delightful.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Developer Has Been Revealed
@N00BiSH In fairness, Galaxy was almost 20 years ago. I find it hard to believe that much of the team is the same as it was then.
Re: Preview: Donkey Kong Bananza - DK's Getting His Own Odyssey, And It's A Helluva Trip
Yeah, this one's gonna be good. I'm honestly fine with no 3d Mario for a while if this is as good as it looks.
Re: Of Course Mario Kart World Is Being Review Bombed
The comment section on this article is absolutely embarrassing. People will really bend over backwards for billions dollar companies unfortunately.
Re: Of Course Mario Kart World Is Being Review Bombed
@riggah Yeah no. A legitimate critique is not the same thing as racism lol.

@TrogdorTheBurninator The sales numbers listed include physical copies and the bundle I'm pretty sure.

Re: Feature: Every Switch 2 Launch Game, Ranked
@geiseldiesel The users on this site. It's based on average user score.
Re: Feature: Every Switch 2 Launch Game, Ranked
@Buizel I'm guessing it got a little review bombed over the 80 dollar price point.
Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update
It kills it for me at least. This destroys any interest I have to play online, which was most of what I was doing.
Re: Three Nintendo Ray Tracing & Rendering-Related Patents Published In Japan
I would love to see a Splatoon game with ray reading. It would probably be insanely demanding, but it would be cool.

@Kilroy The intermission tracks aren't bad, but they suck in online play. They're just too luck-based to have any place in high VR online races imo.

I actually think the use case he's describing in this answer seems fairly reasonable, as they would serve to speed up development and not necessarily to replace people. Now if he's being truthful is another matter entirely.
Re: Drag X Drive Switch 2 eShop Price Revealed
@Joe11 The only real benefit I can think of is the ability to pre download the game, but I'm not sure that really matters with this game lol.
Re: Nintendo Confirms The Release Date For Drag X Drive On Switch 2
This game still looks really unfun if I'm being honest. Like others have said, a strong demo would do a lot. Only picking it up if it reviews well.
Re: Nintendo Confirms The Release Date For Drag X Drive On Switch 2
@Zeebor15 Um, it's not on the same day though? There's two weeks separating them. Also you can just get the Kirby dlc for 20, you don't need to pay the full price for the game again lol.
Re: Man Busted After Allegedly Stealing "$10,000 Worth Of Nintendo Switch Games" From Public Libraries
Stealing from a library is pathetic man
Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Updated Donkey Kong Bananza's Switch 2 File Size
@Apebitmusic I suppose I am making some assumptions lol. But typically only their biggest games get dedicated directs, so seems like a safe guess.
Re: Nintendo Appears To Have Updated Donkey Kong Bananza's Switch 2 File Size
Nintendo's compression continues to be absolute witchcraft lol. A game this big with a file size this small seems like it should be impossible.
Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Updated For Switch 2 And Switch (Version 2.0.0)
"Fixed a bug where CPUs could be controlled by unused but connected controllers in certain minigames."
Wait that could happen?!?! That's delightful.
Re: Nintendo Reminds Us DK Is On The Way To Switch 2 Next Month
Still the same footage though. Definitely a direct coming with more info i'd have to imagine.
Re: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?
I'd give it a 9. It has my favorite controls in any Mario Kart game, an excellent track selection, knockout tour, and I actually enjoy the intermission sections (people calling them boring are whack, if anything they're too chaotic). But free roam is really undercooked, and it's a decent launch title, but BoTW it is not.
