Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has confirmed that the company is currently not considering any further price changes for the Switch 2 following an increase earlier this year.

This comes via Reuters after Nintendo released its latest financial data, during which it was reported that sales for the Switch 2 dropped over 37% year-on-year, with operating profit sliding 16%.

Despite some concern amongst investors, Furukawa-san has sought to ease this by confirming that Nintendo is currently in a position to secure sufficient quantities of memory as the supply crisis continues.

Nintendo's forecast for the remainder of the fiscal year remains unchanged, so it's currently expecting to shift over 16 million Switch 2 units; a decline from last year, sure, but still an incredibly impressive figure.

Confirmation that no further price changes are on the horizon will no doubt come as a relief for many. The Switch 2's price rose globally earlier this year as a result of market conditions, which has no doubt contributed to the downward turn in sales.

You could certainly argue, however, that the price hike was relatively tame compared to some of the changes taking place at other companies. The Switch 2's price rose by $50 in the US and a mere £24 in the UK. Any price hike is disappointing, of course, but when you consider how expensive the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are these days, it could be a lot worse.
