Wow, uh. . .I actually thought it would be more than that. Nice.

Cool story. I hope it's good.

Crikey! A hundred and ten dollarydoos!?

@Erigen 😂😂😂

£49.99 would be a very nice price indeed. I was expecting £58.99, but it will be known soon enough

That's a lot of rupees! 😮

That’s not too bad still hopefully this remake adds new content and stuff especially since this has a much bigger development than the Star Fox remake

@Matt93

At a 59.99 price point, it's probably not a big effort remake.

This is $60 dollars DIGITALLY, still $70 physical in line with all their other games. So no it's not a cheap game I surely hope yall weren't expecting it to be $80 physical.

I know this is unrealistic, this is more a joke than anything. But imagine if this points to a shadow-drop tomorrow lmao

@RasandeRose Even so still excited for this

@Aimaileafy I think Nintendo knows the price tag

@NintonicGamer To be fair, I felt like it was probably going to be 80 physically initially. Mainly because Nintendo could get away with selling Ocarina of Time for 80 USD. Zelda is their second largest IP, and people are going to buy Ocarina of Time regardless of the price point.

As for the price itself, I feel like it being 60 digitally and 70 physically makes it clear that this game is probably going to end up being a straight remake, and not a retelling. I doubt it will come with extra content or revisions to the story/flow of the game unfortunately.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I expected, glad it isn’t $80 like FE. Still skeptical of this game but hoping tomorrow’s direct will get me excited

That’s the price I expected. They think it’s worth more than, say, the Star Fox remake. But it’s still a remake of a very old game, so $80 would be a pretty hard sell.

$94.95 AUD is $68.36 USD.
$104.95 NZD is $61.67 USD.
That’s an average of $65.015 USD, which most certainly doesn’t round to $59.99.

Flagship Switch 2 games have been $69.99 or $79.99 USD, so it would make zero sense for this to be less than that.

Those prices do come out to an average of £48.10, so £49.99 is very likely.

@NintonicGamer The prices listed in AU/NZ are an average of $65 USD so the assumption that it will be $60 USD is tenuous at best.

@Matt93 I bet this will just be a prettier version of the game, like Star Fox 2026.

This is an interesting wrinkle, even though it could be incorrect, I guess. I'm in the "big redo" camp. I think if $60 is the digital price, then that comes out to $70 physical. I don't think the pricing necessarily indicates the strength or "depth" of the game. It's possible that Nintendo knows this is an "older" game, so they didn't want to charge the more standard $70 digital. Just supposing. This also probably has no multiplayer or online features. I don't know. We'll know pretty soon!

@Aimaileafy this information literally comes from Nintendo's store, mate..

@MirrorFate2 Just got to wait and see tomorrow either way I am excited

@VoidofLight StarFox was much cheaper so I think it will be a little bit more than a 1:1. They wont change the structure, story and stuff like that, but I'm pretty sure they will change some areas, enemies and dungeons (one with water for example)

The full trailer for tomorrow will make everyone's pants explode and the price $59.99 is quite reasonable.

If that's for the physical edition, then that's pretty good, because it might also mean you can pre-order it through Amazon for $10 less.

So it is $10 below their top premium price. Which I guess one could argue makes sense for a top-notch ambitious remake.

@RasandeRose The price of such a good is less about the production costs and more about the willingness to pay of the customers. The WTP for a remake can be lower than for a brand-new game, just because of the nature of the game.

I would pay $80.00 USD for this because I am part of the problem. That being said, I hope it's more of a reimagining than a remake.

I might end up playing this at some point if my roommate gets it, but whether it's 1-to-1 or a faithful remake I'm not really particularly interested in it on paper and am almost definitely not going to buy it myself. One, only been a few months since I last played through OoT anyway and I still think it holds up fine, and two, I kind of think both options are bad? A faithful remake of a game that still plays fine is pointless (especially when the original is playable on the same console anyway) but also anything they do to try to modernize it by making it more like BotW I think would just make it a worse experience.

This chip suspects this project is a graphical facelift with enhanced cinematics.

This price point is making the prediction extra crunchy.

This chip has spoken.

I'm under the impression it'll be more than just a 1:1 remake, but it really depends on who is making it. Will Nintendo be the ones making it, or will it be outsourced like how Star Fox (2026) was?

at a lower us price expect a 1.1 remake which will be a disappointment.. for those who expected a bigger overhaul of the game..

I wonder if it being slightly more expensive than Starfox is a sign its more ambitious or just “Zelda tax”

@johnedwin yet no one has seen the full trailer to assume anything about it... Shouldn't make any judgements till after the direct after it's over

@asdfghjklz
Look at how other games are priced rather than currency exchange rates. Ocarina of Time has the same digital price as Yoshi and the Mysterious Book in Australia, which is $60 digital/$70 physical in the US.

It's an interesting one because;

It's a remake so should be cheaper but...
It's many people's all time favourite, so could be sold for more.

Difficult to predict where the price will land.

@MirrorFate2 it’s possible but taking it and doing 150 shrines and such would really make it the goat . But if they do a star fox style remake I’d still buy it and love it . There is a lot of fans who didn’t like breath or tears and keep asking for a linear style Zelda so it’ll cater to those fans and all the years and breath fans are still going to buy it . Either way it’ll be one of the highest selling games this year and next year . GTA is probably going to steal game of the year awards . But oot remake and onimusha and re r are going to be in the running .

@Sausage_patty oot remake will not be in the running as a goty candidate unless it was a complete overhaul of the game which it wont be..

Sounds like a reasonable price point. I guess we'll hear it straight from the horse's mouth later today!

@johnedwin it seems a certain someone is going to be eating their own words after you get proven wrong.

Damn, that's pretty much confirmation we're getting a 1:1 remake

It will be a new experience for me since I never played Ocarina of Time.

I'm thinking it will be $70, but if it's $60, that's even better.

Hopefully, it's a November release.

Its nintendo which is very expensive in switzerland. Starfox costs 50chf so for zelda I expect 60chf at the minimum most likely 70chf. Hell they sell BOTW at 80chf here so who knows. I k ow switzerland is famous for having cows but I'm done being milked like one.

@RasandeRose my thoughts exactly! It will be a one for one remake then.

@TheGreatPotatoChip

I think our only hope is the Potato King.

@DTfearTheBEARD I agree just wish some people stop comparing the price to the quality of the game I mean Nintendo knows how to work their magic to make their games look extremely beautiful while pricing their games fairly since not all games will be above $70 or $80 only by certain basis.

Disappointing news, as this suggests it will just be a simple, straightforward remake.

I had rather paid more for an ambitious reimagination.

This game is going to be amazing, no matter the price it gets. The cheaper it is the more money i'll have to buy the merchandise ans accessoires of ocarina of time

@VoidofLight Nintendo's second largest IP is definitely Animal Crossing, in terms of sales.

$95 is a bit rich for my neck of the woods but hey… Nintendo knows they own my soul.
I would like Shigeru Miyamoto to give me an energetic thumbs up when I hit purchase though

Shut up and take my rupees!

Not many games are a day one or preorder these days but OOT is my favourite game (or at least top 5). Honestly, I don’t really mind if it is the same game but with nice new graphics and some quality of life additions. It’s practically the perfect game already, I just want to play it on the big sceeen!

@PokemonDMG ₹5,673.92 currently, so yeah that's a lot of rupees

I have been hoping more for a bold re-imagining than a Starfox style remake, but if this price is correct, then it seems it won't be as ambitious as I'd hoped.

Wow ok. I was braced for £60 at least.

Ah well hoping it would’ve been $50/60 USD but considering the size and scope of the game $60/70 makes sense. Can’t wait for the direct!

@Gamecuber same, this price screams graphical upgrade and maybe some quality of life improvements but otherwise 1 for 1 to the original. Some fans will defend this, pointing out that games like the ff7 remake change too much, but I'd remind them that the original game is still readily available to play, so having something new based on that original game would be preferable to me.

Very expensive for digital
I will be getting Cartridge version
normal ends up cheaper as well
Still don't think 5his game needs a remake though

This'll be huge if true. It's been a hot minute since I saw a new game being released at £50.

$60 USD sounds about right, but I want to see official prices for each region before I get too excited.

I never thought they were going to change up too much. Game is a bit too sacred and revered.

The good thing if it’s just an overhaul graphically and they don’t add or change it up too much, is that they are more likely to also do Majora’s Mask imo. Now that they will have the engine and style already built

$110 is the price for standard Switch 2 games in Australia. $120 for premium titles like Mario Kart World and the new Fire Emblem (only the second $120 example so far from Nintendo), and some third party games like Cyberpunk Punk 2077. Star Fox is $100. A game on key card, like Star Wars Outlaws, is $90. Street Fighter 6 Year 1 & 2 Fighters Edition is $80.

Since the new policy of not aligning eshop prices with physical, Nintendo house games now sell at $15 less in the eshop.

The one caveat is that these are official retail price. Most of the large retailers sell physical games at least $10 less. Particular stores, notably Target, get special promotions and sell even cheaper. Typically only for a few days and stock is limited. I got SF6 for $65 and DK Bonanza for $90.

It's interesting that Zelda Ocarina reborn is priced at a standard Switch 2 game, not at the Star Fox price. That suggests Zelda will be a more expansive remake.

PS: For Americans, this Australian price for Zelda is equivalent to a $70 Switch 2 game in the USA.

£50 for a remake of one of the best video games of all time?… take my money!! 💴 saying that, I think I’d rather have the physical version for such a legendary game. Zelda OOT and GTA 6 just 2 weeks later - I think I’m gonna disappear from society for a few months 😂

@JohnnyMind @johnedwin when n64 came out in 1996 the games were 80$ then they dropped down significantly and then there was the funko and electronics boutique selling used games for nothing.

@johnedwin yeah if it is just the n64 game with a new coat of paint idk .

@RiasGremory I agree, for the most part, however, I think Mario Kart World should have been $60-$70 instead of $80.

Ocarina of Time Remake looks amazing! I'm excited to play it!

The console is beautiful, but I'll hold out for an OLED model. I might pick up the Pro controller though. What will you be buying?
