Update []: It’s official! Activision has revealed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 for the Nintendo Switch, scheduled to launch on 11th July 2025. Naturally, there’s no word on a native Switch 2 release at this stage, but we’re thrilled to be diving back into these classic titles with revamped visuals and gameplay.
The trailer gives us a look at a brand-new level called Waterpark while Motörhead's iconic 'Ace of Spades' plays in the background. The official website confirms that new skaters and modes will also be featured – including expanded create-a-skater and create-a-park modes – and it also reiterates the previously leaked information regarding the deluxe edition content.
Interestingly, it's also noted that this is has been "authentically remade" with "streamlined goals and the epic 2-minute format." Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 famously ditched the timer for its Career Mode, so it'll be interesting to see if this new release has somehow brought it back.
Original Story: Apparently leakers just can't help themselves, as fresh details on the as-yet-unannounced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 have been revealed ahead of an official announcement later today.
Billbil-kun, who has been known to reliably leak new games ahead of their official reveals, has uploaded two posts on social media that detail the game's supposed release date and pre-order bonuses (thanks, VGC).
Accompanied by a slightly blurred piece of key art (though with the title visible in the bottom-right corner), the posts reveal that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will launch on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 11th July 2025. Billbil-kun also confirms that a collector's edition priced at $129.99 will also be available and will provide players with 3-days early access.
The standard edition is priced at $49.99 with a deluxe edition at $69.99. Those who pre-order either will gain access to the Wireframe Tony Shader and the Foundry Demo when available. Meanwhile, the deluxe edition will contain Doom Slayer and Revenant skater characters, an Unmaykr Hoverboard, and in-game music (presumably also based on DOOM, but unconfirmed). Like the collector's edition, it will also provide 3-days early access.
As per the official website, it's presumed that this title is in development at Iron Galaxy, who previously worked on the PC version of Vicarious Visions' Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. An official reveal will take place at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT / 7pm CET today, where we'll likely get a full trailer showcasing the highly-anticipated remake(s).
Are you looking forward to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4? Out of the original four titles, which is your favourite? Let us know with a comment.

Not that it matters much considering that they'll most certainly announce it officially today but still, happy for those interested in Pro Skater 3 + 4 (me potentially included, but not anytime soon since I haven't tried 1 + 2 yet and that obviously comes first)!
The first Pro Skaters were more my era but I'm happy that 3 + 4 are coming for those fans! I do recall playing them a little bit.
Really curious on how these upcoming releases factor in the Switch 2. Would it be an update ala Xbox's Smart Delivery? Or could it be a new version of the game?
Also great that a Nintendo version is releasing day and date instead of previous Activision releases where they wait a year to port it to Switch and PC (Crash Bandicoot N Sane trilogy, Crash 4, Spyro, Pro Skater 1+2)
Happy to see these remakes get a Nintendo Switch release. But I wonder if they'll do a miracle with this port like the remakes for the 1st and 2nd games.
This game can’t catch a break, can it?
Saw that coming. It also makes since that, niw that Activision and Zenimax are slaves to the maw of Microsoft that they would start blending their IP together for the eventual brand merger (and subsequent mass layoff) under Xbox Game Studios.
For $130, I fully expect the collector's edition to include a cloning kit so I can grow my own Tony Hawk.
One of the rare pre-order moments for me... 4th in my life maybe? And look, Switch version at the same time as other consoles!
3 is an all time game for me. Hopefully I get to shred around the cruise ship as Wolverine again.
Yay leakers ruining everything again.
@JohnnyMind
In that case what are you waiting for, get playing 1&2
@Member_the_game Too busy with the games I'm currently playing first and foremost and in addition I don't know if these are for me personally since I have never played them so while I'm willing to give them a try when I have the chance they're not my top priority.
Regardless, I'm happy for those who have played the originals and are looking forward to replaying them thanks to this and the previous rereleases and others playing them for the first time!
Companies really need to stop making multiple expensive version of games, especially ones with early access.
@Dr_Corndog I know right it’s ridiculously expensive
If it doesn't have Darth Maul, I ain't buying. Stick with the original.
@JohnnyMind
To be fair I was just joking around.
Whilst I can highly recommend them, I do also appreciate that if you've never played the originals you obviously won't have the same nostalgic ties to the games that I have
@johnnymind Personally I would recommend 4 if you ever wanted to try Tony Hawk games. The game has free roam to get used to the controls and the first 3 levels have repeatable events to teach you the basics of the games. After playing that it makes the other games easier. And if you grew up in the 90s the soundtracks are stellar. Hope you are enjoying your games. I'm still waiting for XCX
@Member_the_game No worries, thanks for the recommendation (I'm even further convinced to give them at least a try when I can) and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the originals so much - hope you'll enjoy this rerelease, too!
@betterthanvegas I noticed others mentioning that aspect here on Nintendo Life when saying which game is their favorite, will consider playing 4 first then (and even if these games end up not being for me I'll definitely check out the soundtracks one way or the other), thanks for the recommendation - I'm quite enjoying the games I'm currently playing and I'm also looking forward to XCX, in fact I'll try to start that as soon as my copy arrives... and that will become yet one more reason why the Tony Hawk games will have to wait!
@eltomo Blame Disney for this.
Was really hoping it was going to drop today. But I got my OG Xbox copy to play till then.
This is tubular.
Boom 💥. Can't wait. Might just play on xbox if it's on GP though.
It sucks that Vicarious Visions were not allowed to work on this; especially considering their history with the franchise. At the end of the day, through, I'm just glad we got a remaster of 3.
Tony 4 had a classic mode that let you play levels with a 2-minute timer, but I hope this remake has the free-roam mode, too.
Also hoping Eddie returns as a skater, but I'm not holding my breath.
cant wait for "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 + Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" on the switch 2
Did anyone else have a really hard time playing THPS 1+2 in handheld mode? For an experienced player, I found it cramped my hands trying to play at a high level. I tried it on Switch Lite and also with multiple grip attachments but ultimately just went back to playing the game on PS4. It's a shame because it looked incredibly impressive visually for the Switch and ran smoothly. Just the ergonomics I found to be a problem. It works with a Pro Controller on the TV but then I lost the handheld selling point.
Please put this on Switch 2 @ 60fps 🙏
To me it was always more 1 and 2 which I respectively had on the N64 and the second one much later on the ps1 when I finally got one. I never tried 3 and 4 I had more than enough with the first games. After that I played a ton of Underground 2 on my GC and loved it. I hope they re-release this one at some point it was so much fun.
@Zeebor15 Doomguy appeared as a playable character in the PC version of Pro Skater 3. They're just expanding on that
Finally confirmed! Super amped for this. THPS 3 & 4 are my favourites in the series!
Pre-ordered with a clean conscious.
AND DON'T FORGET DA JOKAAAAA!
For me I have never played 1 or 2 when I was younger so I don't have the nostalgia for it. The same goes for 3, but 4 I played it alot so I am defo hyped to pick it up for 4 and will defo give 3 a go since it is included.
I remember pre-ordering my GameCube along with THPS3 and Rogue leader on launch day 17th of May 2002. I spent all day playing THPS3, great memories. Especially the skate park editor. Really good game amd really glad there remaking/remastering it. THPS4 was good, but obviously didn't have the same impact on me. Looking forward to this one, though I'll hold out to see if it's announced for Switch 2.
@Dr_Corndog Good boards are expensive. If you already wanted the game it ain't a bad deal
