I have a Charizard in LGE and Galar.

I'm.not putting anymore time into re-levelling up Pokemon I already have.

I’m gonna try. Already have a Huge Power Azumarill trained and leveled to 100, so let’s see how it goes.

Oh, boy. Charizard. Totally unexpected choice.

How many Pokemon do we now have again?

Bought on launch and I’m only 1 gym down, nothing else. Seems like my chances of coming across the opportunity to get this boy are slim.
I have a few Charizards but I’m feeling the FOMO for sure.

As much as I like Charizard I'm sure GameFreak is trolling at this point considering how many people are annoyed by their Charizard-favoritism

@WaltherP99 the charizard is already at level 100, you don't need to train it

The game has been out less than 2 weeks so locking one of the first terra raid battles to post-game content is a weird choice.

I’ve not won a single 6 star raid yet so thankfully I have multiple charizards over the years. 😅

@calbeau Literally over a thousand. And they still can't help running back into the twiggy little arms of Charizard, game after game. At least this time it's just a raid event and not, let's say, the Champion's signature Pokemon who follows him around for the entire game.

What’s the point in offering these battles as literally only a handful of people will have finished the game in less than 2 weeks since launch?

Nope, I'm nowhere near the end so like the probably 99% of the playerbase I can't do it.

Man, this was rough. I barely unlocked the ability to challenge these raids, but I was motivated to push on so I could get my boy Charizard. Once I found a raid, it took me at least 6 or 7 tries of pairing with randoms until I could finally beat him. The team comp is so important for this and, if someone isn’t pulling their weight, you can’t win. If you’re going to try this, only use fairy types. A dragon will get absolutely bodied and you’ll just take time away from your team. Heck, I was using a fairy type and ended up needing to dump XP candies into it so it could hang in there. Also, if your Pokémon isn’t a powerhouse, use those support skills! It’s much more valuable to heal up your team members than to take a sliver off of his health.

Honestly, I can’t believe they dropped an event this difficult, this soon. It’s clear that most people either can’t do the raids in the first place or, if they can, don’t have a Pokémon that’s strong enough. It just wasn’t that fun in the end. Not to sound like a complete casual, but I really hope they lower the difficulty in the future. Or at least offer a lower level version of the event mon at a 5-star raid or something for people who just want the Pokémon for their collection.

What are the requirements for it to show? I've beaten all 8 gyms, titans and Starfall. Just need to do the Pokémon League I think...

This raid was a lot easier than expected. I was almost certain they’d give it iron tail to cause trouble for the obvious fairy choice. It’s still a post game raid, you should probably be level 100, but it can be solo’d with a huge power/shell bell Azumarill.

Just an FYI this charizard can still be bred, so there isn't any FOMO element to it besides the title mark it has.

IMO i wasn't prepared and i don't feel the need to prepare for how short the event last. Only good part of it is every win gets you an ability patch (gives your pokemon hidden ability, salvages any HA reliant shinies you may have),.

Still funny to me they just can't make a game without charizard and went as far as making it the only available kanto starter too.

The Terra Raid are fun but so Janky. I did catch 2 Charizards though.

There is a recuring bug happening right now with this event. A glitch mainly seen with fighting with an Azumarill with Play Rough. Charizard's health refill randomly when near death. My friend and I crossed our finger for it to not happen to us... but alas it did. Still don't have a Charizard because of this. And we know it's not only us.

FOMO much, Nintendo? Ah well, my kids will get the game tomorrow so too late.

Question, do you need Nintendo Online for these? If not I won't have to bother making my kids any wiser.

If anyone doesn’t know, you need to beat all three story paths of the game, you have to beat the great crater storyline, not trying to put spoilers out here, then you have to beat everything after that story line 😂 then you have to beat about 10-15 5 star raids until the biology teacher calls you and tells you about the black crystal raids to unlock this. I’m trying to make this as vague as possible…. I grinded my ass off to get my son this charizard cause he wanted it so bad 😂 I also trained us both a huge power azumarill to take into this. We got it on the second attempt while joining 2 npcs in the raid even though we just barely did it. Totally epic in the end but prepare to grind for this dude. Meanwhile I’m sitting here with like three perfectly trained shiny charizards in home 😆 🤦‍♂️

@Draxa I wanted to kind of post a breakdown for you guys cause every time I searched online the breakdown was so vague I had to go to multiple sites to figure out why these things weren’t showing up 😂

@spyro202 I’ve seen this happen with other raids as well, I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or if it’s one of their raid moves it is whack as hell for sure though 😂 🤷‍♂️

One vent of annoyance. If you all go for this grind, pray to your gods during the 5 star raid unlock requirement for this. I kept joining groups of randoms, why oh why do they ignore the type matchups? It would be a grass type Tera raid, I’d have two azumarill and one meowscara (if that’s its name?) join. Such a headslappin waste of time 😂 🤦‍♂️ that ish happened to me like three times in a row 🤣

The article didn't mention but the Charizard event also includes Mimikyu and Florges in 4 & 5 star raids which you can access before post game. These are significantly easier to beat if you're halfway through the game.

I wouldn’t worry about missing out. They’ll recycle events at some point or make things available in paid dlc like they did with Sw/Sh. Look how easy it was to get the special gmax Pokémon with the dlc.

Hopefully Greninja will get some 7* love.

Dang, I know it's a Christmas present but I have to wait til the 25th to play it! All this charizard hate would blow my 4th grade mind. He's still the coolest to me after all these years, a Charizard card was a mythical object way back then, guess it imprinted on me lol.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika No, I'm not angry people don't love this game. You're just blowing one thing I said out of proportion. This isn't about "excuses". I have no problem criticizing something, but there is such a thing as being civil about it.

You don't have to grind to postgame to join someone else's charizard raid! As long as you have all eight gym badges to command any level Pokemon, you can just train up an Azumarill to 100 and join someone else's raid!

I only had two gym leaders left to clear so I did that pretty quickly, and then I trained up my Azumarill to 100 from the Exp Candies I had left over from the Eevee event. Then I had to keep hounding Reddit threads to try to find someone willing to host the raid. Took me a while, and a few failed attempts, but I was able to get a Charizard without even beating the Pokemon League!

I would recommend catching the Wild Tera Azumarill, which is already at Lv55, and comes with the fairy tera type (very important to terastallize to break Charizard's shield phase!)

Can anyone trade me one ? I am at my 3rd gym and i dont want to speed run the game only to get the charizard , because i want to take my time playing it

I got this game on day one and I still only beat one gym because I’m having so much fun just roaming around and trying to fill my Dex. I’m so behind in the game…. 😂 I guess I won’t be catching this Charizard dude any time soon!

i am halfway the game , (4 star raids) i will not rush to complete the game i ve been waiting for a yeard , just to get a charizard raid, i ll take my time with it.

The raid is good, lots of nice rewards. I am raiding because the raid is just for one day.

@FatWormBlowsASparky just get a Azumarill, use belly drum than play rough and Charizard is dead.

Was able to drum up a code online (I haven't beaten the game yet) and was able to catch it. But what's this about a mightiest mark? Is that supposed to be shown somewhere or what? Mine says nothing of the sort.
Just an innocently under informed trainer here... mostly on purpose, trying to fly about as blind as I can through the game.
