Update [Sun 27th Nov, 2022 02:55 GMT]: Blizzard has now released gameplay footage of Ramattra. He'll make his debut in Season 2 on December 6.

Original article [Wed 23rd Nov, 2022 02:05 GMT]: If you're still playing Blizzard's free-to-play title Overwatch 2 on a regular basis, you might be interested to know there's a double XP event taking place this weekend between the 24th and 28th of November.
During this time players will receive twice the amount of XP from matches. There'll also be some login rewards up for grabs including a "Junker Queen "Five Fingers" highlight intro (22nd - 26th November), and Kiriko " On the Wind" highlight intro (27th November - 2nd December).

In addition to this, Blizzard will be showing a "first-look gameplay trailer" of Ramattra on 26th November. This will give players a look at the hero's two distinct forms, Omnic and Nemesis - allowing players flexibility when protecting their teams. Ramattra will join the lineup next month on December 6th:

Too bad I will have to grind half the BP for him.
Removed - unconstructive
I'm enjoying the game a lot, honestly more than Splatoon 3. Sure, the first 3 or so days were rough and getting a handle of the controls was tricky, but as an overwatch newcomer color me impressed. What it really needs is a full on MOBA mode with lanes/turrets.
Ramattra? That name needs a rework, yikes. Sounds like a poorly conceived Pokemon.
Working on the prestige titles for the battle pass with two more weeks left, so the xp boost is appreciated. Will be casually playing a lot this weekend.
I mean yay free intros I suppose. A bit late for the double XP since I finished the free tier if the BP already. Guess I can get another title or two before it's over.
@Snatcher You know it's kind of weird, but if you're actually enjoying yourself, that "grind" is known as "playing". Crazy right?!
@SonOfDracula sounds fine to me, it's in line with other Omnic characters in the game's universe like Zenyatta and Mandatta. People look for anything to whinge about I guess.
Yeah…XP is no longer a reward. Playing a few times a week I’m well part through the battle pass. XP doesn’t get you coins for cosmetics, which they know is the real prize.
Game is fun, but I feel like I’m maintaining enthusiasm in the face of an actual blizzard of negativity from every monetization choice they make.
We will not be playing 😁
@PrincessKatamari Zenyatta sounds cool, Mandatta sounds like they mandate, which doesn't sound cool. I'm not people; I'm a person.
Honestly, I cannot be bothered to play this now. After the shutdown of 1 and the grind, it definitely feels like my best interest in the game is absolutely not a priority for it.
I'd be down with some kind of offline single player that had some level of local multi-player though.
So I got the xp boost for $10 on the first BP and now I am working on 'vanity' title number 3 having maxed out the 'rewards'. So this tells me there is no need to pay for the XP boost as I will get there before the end of the season.
It does help I only play Mystery Heroes and which supposedly has a chance to give you Ramtruck (or whoever is locked up) even if he isn't unlocked for other modes.
So for me personally, OW2 is now F2P and very much a 'I will pay if I want but probably not' vs an upfront investment of more (I played OW1 and bought a couple chest packs to try and get skins before) of $50+ so that makes their new model a win for me.
The game tired me out a couple of matches.
I think they would need to rework the whole game and give players a much biggers skill ceilling if they want to keep the game alive. TF2 is still very much alive because hitting enemies is fun, and that's pretty much what an FPS should be
