Last month, Nintendo and the US chain Cold Stone Creamery teamed up to make Kirby ice cream. This month, it's Baskin Robbins' turn to make Splatoon-themed ice cream ahead of the imminent release of Splatoon 3. And while the Kirby ice creams sounded delicious... these ones let you decorate the sweets with blue and yellow ink!
There are a number of different desserts that are on offer, from a small ice-cream cake with Splatoon characters on it to a limited-edition Splatoon flavour of ice cream: Ikasu Soda & Grape ("ika" is the Japanese for "squid", so it's a fun play on words). Even if you don't want the squid flavour, you can get Splatoon-themed cups (one of three designs) or a variety pack, which comes with eight flavours and a Splatoon box.
The coolest thing, in our opinion, is the jelly soda, which is a vibrant yellow-blue lemonade float with popping candy that comes with two flavours of jelly to pour over the top: Grape and lemon.
Sadly, the Splatoon desserts are Japan-only... but if you happen to be in Japan right now, you can sample the inky delights at Baskin Robbins (known as "31" in Japan) from September 1st. More information is available on the website.

Contains no natural colours or flavours.
Canada did something similar with fro-yo back when Splatoon 1 was crazy
Man, they're pulling out all the stops for this one, I kinda want ice cream now.
Why can't we have nice things, too?
And once again, Nintendo forget there is more to the world than just Japan.
Not that it really matters as there is No Baskin Robins where I am, but thats not the point, Why does Japan get all the cool stuff
@Bunkerneath You think you want this but you don't. I took my kids to the Nintendo x Cold Stone Kirby promo. They wiuldnt give us the Kirby cup because we didnt order a large (my kid is 5 I'm not cracking them out with 4lbs of sugar). The flavor was a regular flavor with a stupid Kirby themes name. This is the same dumb ****.
Dont feel like you are missing out if it is marketing for dumdums like me. You aren't.
The thing on the stick looks like that thing you put in the dishwasher for some reason.
I genuinely did not know Baskin Robbins was a real thing, I only knew it from Ant-Man lol.
Is that tide pod flavour?
Japanese people call Baskin Robbins "31" because they're so afraid of the English language that they can't see past those numbers. If you try to explain the real name they act like you just set fire to a rescue shelter for disabled baby red pandas. It's super weird.
@BabyYoda71 i go there every few years to buy ice cream cakes for kid birthday parties. they are strong.
I wouldn't say it looks edible, but I bet it tastes good!
Beats squid and kid flavoured ice cream...
@Sonos I live in Canada so that would be why I’ve never seen one.
That cool what we do not get it
Hmm, I may need to visit my local Baskin Robins while I'm still here.
Back during the first Splatoon’s release, Nintendo of Canada worked with a Froyo place for 2 exclusive flavours, but they didn’t show up at the locations near where I lived. So, its neat that Splatoon just has that link with frozen dairy for some reason.

Huh. I'd have thought Kirby's Dream Buffet would been a better fit for this.
But... sniff it looks so amazing... WHY DOES JAPAN GET EVERYTHING COOL
Of course it's japan only. They get some cool stuff.
Ooh what fun. Bring it here please?
I worked at Baskin Robbins very briefly. I disliked it so much I don't think I made it past the training stage. I recall being there learning how to make smoothies or something, and just wishing I was back home so I could keep playing Ocarina of Time, haha. This would've been 1999 probably.
It's beautiful, but it looks super chemical. I doubt my wife would let our daughter drink. But it's beautiful!
WHY JAPAN WHY
Looks great on pictures but not to eat. Try to limit my food coloring intake where I can.
