The Pokémon Company has today announced that Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles will receive its English debut at the Pokémon World Championships in London on August 19th.

The special will be shown before a live studio audience at the event - providing yet another reason to try to get the ExCel in the coming weeks if you can.

Sadly, many of us will not be at the World Championships. But fear not as The Arceus Chronicles will also be made available on Netflix UK just a little over a month later, on September 23rd.

For a full rundown of what to expect from the upcoming show, take a look at the official blurb from The Pokémon Company below.

When Ash, Pikachu, and friends receive a mysterious message from the Mythical Pokémon Arceus, they meet up with their old friend Brock and head to Mount Coronet to investigate. There, they find a rampaging Heatran and the group responsible—Team Galactic, previously thought to be dismantled. The team’s commanders are determined to find their missing leader by opening a gate between dimensions. With a trio of Legendary Pokémon and Sinnoh Champion Cynthia on their side, our heroes have a lot of help, but they’ll need all they can get to save Sinnoh!

The internet hasn't crumbled quite as much as we would have expected at seeing topless Brock once again — and hey, there's still time — but the series nonetheless promises to be a nostalgic return to the Sinnoh region.

Originally airing in several Asian countries, The Arceus Chronicles has taken on various forms from a four-part staggered release in Japan to a 63-minute feature release in South Korea. Apart from the trailer above, this is pretty much all we know about the special.

We are excited to see the gang back together again in a special that will undoubtedly serve to drum up our excitement for Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet which releases on November 18th.
