THQ Nordic's latest digital showcase shared all sorts of game announcements, but perhaps the highlight of the lot was the final teaser right at the very end.
The company has officially confirmed a new South Park game is in development, cutting down its list of unannounced games by one. Apart from this, the only other thing we know at the moment is the involvement of South Park Digital Studios.
It's been some time since the previous South Park video games, and this new one is likely to be an entirely different experience.
The most recent entries South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole are both available on Nintendo Switch and were published by Ubisoft.
If we hear any updates about this upcoming game, including platforms and a release date, we'll let you know.

Glad Ubisoft's scummy mitts are off this IP now. Wonder if it's a full title or something more akin to the Xbox Live Arcade games?
Either way will keep an eye on this.
I absolutely loved THQ's showcase. They're keeping the strategy and RPG genre alive and well and hopefully this South Park is another quality release.
Toilet jokes, you say?
You have piqued my interest. Please excuse me while I pull up a stool.
i loved both South Park: The Fractured But Whole and South Park: The Stick of Truth, i wouldn't mind if it was a third RPG Game or something completely new with South Park.
damn it butters.
I'd pay about tree fitty for a n64 port.
THQ though? Gonna be a hard pass.
@XenoShaun Funny enough, they're a few of the Ubisoft games that are actually worth playing.
Matt Stone did an interview a while back when they signed that deal with Paramount and said they were currently working on a 3D South Park game. I imagine this is that
So this mean Ubisoft no longer has the right to make any more South Park games? Shame as I enjoyed both there games.
@JackDeschain And I said god&@#! it, monster! You ain't gettin' no tree fitty!
Chef's Luv Shack 2 confirmed?! One can only hope 🙏.
@Ironcore What have they ever done to you? They've had solid releases lately. More so than many other publishers.
@BinaryMessiah Just absolute garbage through the 90s-10s. Maybe they are better but usually when I see their name on something I either pass or regret not passing if I try it out. I have played a few decent titles tbf but generally not.
It's about time. I enjoyed the last South Park game. They do have their flaws, but if Trey and Matt are involved, the SP games usually have the same kind of humor that appealed me in the TV series.
Fantastic news. I loved Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole so much I rebought them on Switch.
@Ironcore Sans every single publisher in the 90s-10s? I know they were linked to all the awful cartoon video games, but they had some excellent titles such as Red Faction, Atlantis, WWF and WWE series, Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War, MotoGP, Supreme Commander, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Darksiders, UFC, Stacking, Saints Row, Full Spectrum Warrior, de Blob, MX series, many portable ports like Age of Mythologies (DS), Viva Pinata (DS), Sabre Wulf (GBA), Titan Quest, Destroy All Humans, Tak series, Juiced, Drawn to Life, and the list goes on. Just like any publisher they had some amazing games before they became THQ Nordic.
Well, I loved stick of truth and fractured but whole. We'll see what they happen to roll out.
I hope they do a time travel story set in the Covid/Post Covid timeline.
I adored those specials. They could do a lot with a game that has the boys as kids and as adults.
After Fractured but Whole I got tired of the turn based play style.. give me 3D turkeys or I’m not interested
@XenoShaun
Ubisoft made two of the best South Park titles to ever, so I'm not sure why the hatred?
@OrtadragoonX I would love a game about adult Butters selling NFTs.
It is a shame we can get new South Park games but not new Simpsons games. I would love a sequel to The Simpsons: Hit & Run, another game like 'The Simpsons (2007)' or an open world game where we can explore all of Springfield and some of the towns around it and hopefully they make one.
I'm not a fan of turn based rpgs. I would much rather have a south park game of a different genre.
This just reminds me that the South Park games Let's Go Tower Defense Play! & Tenorman's Revenge aren't backwards compatible and are still only on 360.
