Update [Sat 23rd Jul, 2022 02:45 BST]: It seems this demo has already gone live on the Japanese Switch eShop. Provided you have access to a Nintendo account in this region, you can download it right now and play it with English subtitles. Enjoy!
Original article [Fri 22nd Jul, 2022 01:55 BST]: Following on from the news in May that SD Gundam Battle Alliance would be receiving a worldwide release for Switch on 25th August 2022, Bandai Namco has now announced a free demo. It's releasing on 28th/29th July, but the Switch version will follow at a later date.
This demo will allow players to try out 'Directory 1: Mission "Tekkadan"!' and players will also be able to transfer across the demo's save data to the full version of the game when it is released.
Here's a bit about what to expect from this upcoming release, along with the original release date announcement trailer:
"After strange incidents known as "Breaks" occur across the Gundam universe, it's your job to find out what's going on and restore the proper timeline. You'll do this by leading three mobile suits into battle - with this entry featuring over 20 different mobile suit Gundam series. There'll also be the ability to battle alongside friends in online co-op multiplayer."

Unless I’m reading that tweet incorrectly, the switch demo is not coming on the 28th like the other consoles. No ETA for Switch.
Just give me a physical release, and I'll immediately buy.
@mereel It’s available on the Japanese eshop. Playing it now.
Big Zam! Danny from Game Grumps will like this.
@switchscreenshots
Thanks for the notice or I wouldn’t have even checked the Jpn eShop yet! It is there and I’m downloading now.
It’ll be nice to get a preview of the game and see hopefully if my preorder was justified!
Edit: Surprised to see the Jpn eShop demo is actually in English! (Eng menus and subtitles, with Japanese voice acting.). It’s probably another game that adapts to your Switch’s system settings. If I set my console to Jpn language, I suppose the game would become Japanese-language only. (though I haven’t confirmed)
@mereel Yeah, unfortunately. Was pretty hyped with this news until I read that part.
@DogDetective So far it's Asia that has a confirmed physical release. But it will have english on the cart. Already got mine pre-ordered from play Asia!
Game is way to expensive on play asia. Love my physical games but not paying 80 euro for this ( with taxes and shipping )
@Teksetter Yes, it would change if you switched your system language to Japanese. If you ever see 英語 in the languages section of a game on the Japan eshop the game has English.
@CorePrideX
That's a common theme due to licensing costs, the same happens with the Super Robot Wars series.

Thanks - that’s a good general tip! Always nice to have some eigo in Japanese games.
Very excited to see Tauruses in the demo! Hopefully they'll be playable, too. Always nice to see some decent grunt representation.
@moodycat @CorePrideX Yeah play-asia is super pricey, once you add on taxes. I ended up ordering River City Three Kingdoms Saga, which would have cost me £48,I added the previous game in the SD gundam series on PS4 to get free shipping, and it cost me just over £60. I can justify 2 games for £60, not so much 1 for £48.
Why don't all these get released on all eShops? Persona 5 strikers still not being available on US eShop makes no sense, IMO.
