If Mario Kart 8 and F-Zero had a baby, it might look like Redout 2, an anti-gravity, neon dystopian racing game that's finally coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Redout 2 is already out on PC and all the various Xboxes and PlayStations, and includes a single-player career mode and competitive multiplayer, with up to 12 people to race against across 36 tracks. You can customise your own hovership with 12 chassis choices, flaps, wings, spoilers, rocket engines, and more, and then do a classy car photoshoot with the game's Photo Mode. There's also a bangin' soundtrack that features electronic artists from Zardonic and Dance with the Dead to the legendary composer Giorgio Moroder.
Redout 2 promises "lightning-fast" racing, and dubs itself the "fastest racing game in the universe", so expect a lot of speed from this game when it comes to Nintendo Switch on July 19th.

How does this game compare to the Fast Racing series?
That is to say, we alreayd have an anti-grav arcade racer on the Switch - it was a 2017 launch day title - Fast RMX.
Episode 1 Racer immediately came to mind when I watched the trailer. Anything close to that with online play is must play for me.
I hope the sequel has a better conversion to Switch than the first game.
I'm really interested in how well gyro works with racing lines. It could be ace if done right (and surprised Nintendo hasn't done it for F-Zero!)
I got really lucky and was able to buy it in the 5 minutes that Nintendo accidentally put it on the eShop lol. It's an amazing experience but in its current state I am unable to play it beyond the final B league track.
@CharlieGirl how was the first game? Its been on my wish list forever, but I think the price is too high. I may get it on sale but already have Fast RMX and other racing games I like. Is Redout worth it--on sale?
@dugan A lot of the issues with Redout have been patched out since launch, which is good because it was rough at launch. It's now in a state I'd describe as "it's ok." Not worth a full $40, if you ask me.
Still doesn't have local multiplayer either, so buyer beware.
Play this game on Steam, not Switch! The difference is brutal.
This game is epic. Gameplay is difficult but perfect.
But if you play online on steam you always will be the last one. People in this game = hardest difficult ever!
I don't have the time to dedicate myself to the time this game requires. It's a very long learning curve! It's not like F-zero that you pick up and throw pretty quickly
@CharlieGirl thank you! with that information I will wait for a more than 50% sale.
LOL this game is coming purely because Nintendont refuse to make a new F-Zero
