Update [Wed 8th Jun, 2022 15:05 BST] It's true! Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is getting a free demo today! Take early command of your forces as you join lone mercenary Shez in battle with all of your favourite characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
You can download the demo from the Switch eShop, and make sure you let us know what house you'll be picking! Though you can also play through all three main routes — Scarlet Blaze, Azure Gleam, and Holden Wildfire — up to chapter four. And don't worry, progress from the demo will be carried over to the full game when it launches on 24th June.
We've already been able to spend some time with the game, so make sure you check out our hands-on impressions before diving into the demo.
Original article [Thu 2nd Jun, 2022 12:00 BST] Over the past few weeks, we've been getting a glut of new Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes trailers and details, and we've now seen all three of the main houses in action. The game launches later this month and is the second Fire Emblem Musou game after Fire Emblem Warriors on the Switch and New 3DS.
But it sounds like fans will be able to have a go at the game a little ahead of its 24th June release date. Over on Nintendo's store page, a listing for a demo of the game has appeared. There's an option to download the demo, but it's not currently live yet, so you'll have to sit patiently until you can get your hands on some chaotic Warriors action with your favourite Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters.
So you've still got time to plan which house you're going to pick when you fire up the game! Here are all of the trailers for the houses so you can get a feel for who you'll be able to play as.

Hope they announce that demo in a Direct
@mariomaster96 Came here to say the exact same
oh man yes please
Yea, let's hope a new direct is soon! I'd love to get a demo for this game, but I'd love to see more of it in a direct as well
Would give anything for it to be a pseudo-E3 direct announcement!!
We ARE almost overdue for a Nintendo Direct....
Judging by the pattern of info for Three Hopes so far, this feels like a candidate for a shadow drop around tomorrow rather than a Direct announcement.
I already have this game pre-ordered.
Woo. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully we get to transfer demo data to the main game.
Pretty sure all of the other Nintendo x Warriors games had demos as well (except HW Definitive Edition?), so I'm not surprised.
It's appreciated anyway, hard to get a demo for games these days!
Can't wait! When I hear the demo is announced I'll be so fast downloading it!
I hope this is an instance of a demo being released prior to the game's release and not after. Fingers crossed it also allows the carrying over of save data to the full game. 🤞🏼
I really hope a demo releases this week because it seems a bit counter intuitive to release a demo in just a week away, (really I'm just saying this because I haven't had the money to preorder the game yet and I'm hungry for new info because we had gotten three trailers in three weeks until just a few days ago when nothing happened.)
YES! Cant wait to get my hands on it later today. Love that Fodlan Universe and I was really eager for more of it. And yeah, Blue Lions all the way, you know it.
I can’t wait to give this a shot, loved aoc!
I'll pass on this for now. I remember trying the Hyrule Warriors AOC demo when that released and good lord did it stutter. Maybe if/when I get around to buying Three Houses and have a more personal connection to FE but right now, I'll respectfully decline.
And just as I asked for it in the other article, what excellent timing! Going to try it out right away.
Inject it into my veins!!!
Ashen Wolves base game lets gooooooo!!!!!!
Nice timing!
Impressions talk pretty good about this game!
Welp guess that’s another demo I’m gonna have to download.
I did love hyrule warriors and I enjoyed the demo for age of calamity so who knows maybe I’ll enjoy this.
Having never played Three Houses, but loving Warriors/Musou style games, I'm giving the demo a shot...and I must say its really impressive so far. I really have no idea about the story, etc., but the writing is pretty top notch so far. Presentation is clean and crisp...it looks really good. Also...as a pet peeve of mine...I have to say I love how synced the voices are to the lips when speaking. Even when a pause is done during speaking, the lips stop moving, then start again when the voice speaks again. Its a tiny detail, but adds to the immersion to me. I also really love the anime/cartoon style to the graphics with the bold black outlines, etc. Its just a classical cell shaded look that will stand the test of time. Combat is also quick and responsive. I might actually have to get this when it comes out!
Demo is fun, but performance is... pretty bad.
Really like that we can select genders/names for both Byleth and Shex. Would be nice if we could play as all four variants with the same save.
@Kestrel how bad is it? NL just got done saying the performance was good on their hands on in previous article. Have not tried demo yet since still at work
@Arawn93 framerate's noticeably worse than Age of Calamity (played 'em back to back) and enemy pop-in is really bad.
But possibly the actual game with have better performance than the demo? Here's hoping.
The framerate is better than Age of Calamity. Not sure how anyone would get the impression otherwise.
That said, I am surprised they ditched the "performance mode" feature from the last Fire Emblem Warriors. The graphical tradeoff was worth the better framerate.
30 fps is not ideal for a musou game, but the demo is so much fun and is full of great gameplay and nice story elements.
@AlphaElite
Yeah I’m not sure what anyone means by saying it’s worse than age of calamity in terms of performance, it’s way better.
Demo has been great so far and seems like one of the longest demos I’ve ever played, feels like I’ve bought the game already.
Still getting conflicting info. Whatever I’ll find out when it finishes download since back from work
Meh, not impressed. It’s just Hyrule Warriors.
