We love a good sale, and this week, it's Capcom delivering the goods. As Golden Week — a week in Japan where four national holidays occur between 29th April and 3rd May — approaches, many Japanese developers reduce the prices of their games in order to celebrate the break. Well, how else are you going to spend those extra days off?
While Golden Week isn't celebrated in the West, we do still get to see the discounts. Capcom has slashed the prices of multiple big releases across the Switch and 3DS eShops in North America, starting today! At the time of writing, the sale isn't currently live in the UK or Europe, but we'll let you know if that happens. We can't keep missing out... can we?
Every major Capcom franchise you can think of has had some kind of discount. Ace Attorney? No objections here. Devil May Cry? Let's rock. Resident Evil? No, you're not dead — or imagining it. And what about Monster Hunter? The savings are bigger than Bazelgeuse. Street Fighter, too? No need to go for broke.
We've got a list of everything that's on sale for you, thanks to our friends at Nintendo Everything:

Multiple 3DS games for less than a $5 bill? Huge savings on some releases that came out less than a year ago? It's basically irresistible.

Where are the European discounts on 3DS? 😭
The 3DS Ace Attorney games are a steal at that price.
Only really good discount is MH Rise but with Sunbreak coming I'd rather wait for that plus the base game to go on sale.
Same old sales as always. When will these 10+ year old Resident Evil games go down more in price? I’d definitely buy a few of them if they gave a better sale
Oh come on! That's 2 3DS sales NA has got that EU hasn't now! I really want to get a few Ace Attorney games on sale.
So another 3DS Capcom sale that is going to skip EU
Noted....
I wish the first Monster Hunter Stories game on 3DS was on sale.
Most of those sales are the normal amount they're always discounted to..
Debating on MH Stories 2 though since Rise bored me to tears and that looks a lot more enjoyable.
@Ear_wiG Yep, I'd definitely go for RE and maybe even double dip on a DMC game, but they seem to think selling less at a higher price is better than selling way more at a slightly less price, so I'll continue to not buy them.
Their last EU sale was just a month ago. Granted, these new prices are a bit lower. But with the amount of backlog I have, I can easily wait for a sale till 2023.
@majinx07 Nintendo published that one in NA
@majinx07 Same, I am still holding off my hands from that "fair priced" (considering the circumstances) sealed new copy of it for 90 euro nearby me.
But the eshop price is a tad to high for me, because I know how "killing online stuff" does work with Nintendo.
I do have the game on Android, runs and plays great, but I do want to have the OG experience, which is on the 3DS.
I just might spring on Monster Hunter Rise with that price. Heard it was good, I’ll test it out myself.
Pretty tired of not getting these sales in Europe.
Onimusha is fun if you're into old school Resident Evil and Samurai films. Surprised they haven't already ported the sequels over as well.
No Monster Hunter Stories for 3DS...?
I’m thinking of picking up DMC on switch and then Monster Hunter Generations and Ace Attorney on 3DS. I might as well just get them because I have zero plans to ever get rid of my 3DS. Might as well load ‘er up at that price.
If I didn't suspect Capcom would bring Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice to the Switch at some point (and am kinda surprised they haven't), I'd totally jump on those 3DS discounts.
Edit: Some comments have a fair point: why is there no discount for the first Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS?
Would be good to have something like this in the UK so I don’t have to resort to other means hint hint
Your 10% discount codes aren’t working again Nintendo Life. I tried to use them yesterday but the site said the code had expired.
I wish these discounts would come to the EU eShop for 3DS. I’d love to get the AA Trilogy at this price, but as I already own the DS originals I don’t want to double dip at full price.
The second time Ace Attorney games are on sale in the US after the 3DS and Wii U eShop closure announcement, Europe still waiting.
Just a little note that while the Ace Attorney Collection looks way sharper on Switch, the 3DS versions are IN 3D! Only way you'll ever be able to enjoy them in 3 dimensions.
Wow. $5 per Monster Hunter game on 3DS. Those games never clicked with me, but I'm tempted to get the set in case they ever do.
Once again, Capcom forgot they released Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS.
Oh cool I’ll pick up monster hunter stores 3DS surely that’s been discounted as well…
Oh…
I see that Monster Hunter Rise and am tempted, but I fear I won't have the time or patience to learn the ways of monster hunting. I have like 3 long JRPGs in my backlog anyway, I probably shouldn't add yet another lengthy game.
Shame! In Europe only Resident evil Mercenaries 3D has a discount at the moment! Shame again!
Finally i will play MH Stories 2, played the demo and loved the game!
@TheBigK MH Rise is super easy to get into, and the game have a strong playerbase, so, you will have a good time playing with other players online. If the game in question was MHGU, yes, it's dense, but Rise, you can go with no worries.
And more, the MH games are best when appreciated in short bursts, so it's not so lengthy. You can play it between other games, some hunts here and there.
I have 500+ hours on MHGU and i never played it for much time straight.
Fantastic prices for the US. I already have what I want from the list but I do need to pick up the case dlc for both DD and SoJ.
Looks like only RE the mercenaries 3D is discounted here in New Zealand
Mega Man Legacy Collection on 3DS is also on sale, you missed that one.
I actually already have all of those except DMC 1&2, Shinsekai & Monster Hunter 3 & 4 Ultimate.
Great gaming to be had there.
Street Fighter IV for 5 bucks? Now that's a steal!
Is it just me, or is Monster Hunter for 3ds never on sale in Europe?
@IronMan30 not really. Maybe when Rise goes down to 19 or 15 but 30 is still to much for a game that is so repetitive with every iteration.
Just my opinion. Take Res Evil for example, all decent prices for those games and especially the ds ones. Devil may cry also.
Spirit of Justice is £25 on the UK eshop! Dual Destinies and Apollo Justice are £20 each. We really need a sale more than the US where these games are already cheaper and were on sale a couple of months ago!
Same old same old discount pricing for many of those Capcom games. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles' price has me most intrigued as I don't have that game yet. I might bite.
@DdG1408 I more meant that is the only unusual discount than normal. I.e., steeper. DMC and the RE games are normally those prices on sale.
Too bad all the RE games aren't $7.99...why just Revelations 1&2?
"in the UK or Europe"
Pretty sure that the UK is still part of Europe, no matter how often the Brits try to claim otherwise.
What's next? "in the UK or on the world"?
@RainbowGazelle 3 as far as i know, but probably much more. So ***** sick of everyone skipping europe, and Australia probably feels the same about it too.
@KeeperBvK the UK is europe, and so is Russia.
Oh my bad, there is a Capcom sale in europe. Biggest one weve had here in a long time!
Why not EU as well? I was waiting for sales on a couple of those 3DS games...
