Just days after a rumour about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered coming to the Switch, COD fans have now spotted a Nintendo Switch listing on Activision's official 'Online Services' webpage. This support site allows you to scroll through a list of games and view the current online status of each one.
What's got the internet talking about this though is a temporary 'Nintendo Switch' server listing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
This entry was released in 2018 on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and obviously isn't the rumoured COD game for Switch. The listing here could easily be a mistake or technical glitch, as Activision removed it soon after it was spotted.
Back in February, not long after Microsoft announced it would be acquiring Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, president Brad Smith voiced interest in bringing the COD series to the Nintendo Switch. Here's what he had to say:
"We’d like to bring it [Call of Duty] to Nintendo devices. We’d like to bring the other popular titles that Activision has, and ensure that they continue to be available on PlayStation, [and] that they become available on Nintendo."
Again, this is probably more likely to be a technical error, but it sure is interesting timing after the recent rumour. Would you like to see a Call of Duty game on the Nintendo Switch at some stage? Let us know what you think down below.

Thank god. Include local wireless and I’ll buy half a dozen copies.
Yey, confirmed?!
COD has to be coming to Switch at some point
Sooner than we thought, perhaps?
Call of Duty, one of the games ever made, coming into Switch, one of the consoles ever made. It's one of the scenarios ever!
Worst-kept secret in video games right now
"89GB download required."
Please come to switch!
I don’t even need a campaign just give me wave mode and semi stable online
Trade Black Ops 4 for Black Ops 2 and you'll have my money the moment it comes out.
As mentioned in the article, this was something back in 2018 and for a short time, you could connect your Nintendo account to your CoD account.
Four years later, I'm still very disappointed in the direction Activision chose to go, and their lack in setting limits has effectively costed them their reputation, now notoriously known for taking up so much storage space on your devices. Once again, I hope Microsoft comes in to fix these sort of problems.
@Arkay
100% agree. Older CoD games just feel much better to play because of simplicity
Of all the Cod games to bring to switch, Black Ops 4 is the most odd, I would've thought either CoD Mobile, cause it being on ARM already and able to run on weaker hardware then the Switch and beyond UI it would be the easiest to do. or even CoD4 Remastered as its a staple and popular game and its size and requirements could be parred down easy compared to others plus I would think a Campaign would work better on switch over a battle royale due to mobile nature and Black Ops 4 has no campaign
I want CoD with a single player campaign or I won’t buy. I hope we get MWR
Should have done mw2/3, bo1 or bo3.
FortNite has some bad framerate hiccups on Switch. But at least it is there! We should have already got a CoD years ago.
Give me Modern Warfare trilogy, World at War, or the early Black Ops games. I don’t even need the online multiplayer
Yes please! No call of duty will best black ops II for me.
Gimme MW trilogy on the go and I'm a happy man, they can keep the new ones
Yes please, cod on the go
@ModdedInkling that's exactly why I liked them, I could just jump in a game and play.
COD and Madden at some point will land on the Switch. The console has sold too many units to just ignore them.
Legend has it that somewhere in the hidden basement of Activision headquarter Bobby Kotick is playing a rare version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for Switch and he ain't sharing it with anyone while cross playing it against other people on other platforms.
@Total_Weirdo apt name.
@HotGoomba I think you missed out the word best three times.
@smiffo99 no. no i didn't.
