Yesterday, Nintendo dropped a fantastic new trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, also providing us with a solid release date of 25th March. As you might have spotted, the game just so happens to fall a month before Kirby's 30th anniversary, and it looks like Nintendo has some plans to celebrate.
In amongst all the excitement yesterday, Nintendo posted to social media to offer up a special wallpaper. In the tweet, the company tells fans to "stay tuned for news regarding #Kirby30 activities coming soon."
Of course, The Forgotten Land will likely be our biggest Kirby treat of the year, but it'll be interesting to see what else Nintendo has in store for our favourite little pink blob of joy. We'll make sure to keep an eye out for any exciting announcements.
In the meantime, make sure to check out our gallery of glorious Kirby and the Forgotten Land screenshots if you haven't already. There are a whopping 34 images in there in total, so don't miss out.
25th March can't come soon enough, right?

I'll take a Kirby Game & Watch thanks since you've done that for Mario and Zelda, we won't talk about F Zero.....
Kirby is a huge merchandise seller more than games so likely its new clothing, plush etc
Kirby 99 come on Nintendo you want this, we want this. Do it!
My wallet! I already got a look at some of the new plush that will be coming out they they look cute but I really loved the retro designed plush that came out on the 25th anniversary. I regret till this day not getting that dreamland plush because now If I want it, I have to pay up to 600 US dollars 😫 One of my greatest regrets ever. I’d love if they rereleased those plush.
Can’t’ wait to see what the activities could be and if ppl overseas can take part in many of them.
COLLECTIONS!
Kirby game and watch please. I've started on that cash cow road so might as well continue.
@Freek I mean, I've got the Zelda last week and it's AMAZING!!
Would love a Kirby edition....but what game and watch would they use, and what games would be on it?!
Gotta keep Sakurai happy, somehow.
Admittedly, I've only played Planet Robobot (Kirby piloting a mech, enough said.) Fighters Deluxe and the sequel. I'm hoping that they bring back the Mecha aspect for one of the levels.
2.5D remastered collection - Return to Dream Land, Triple Deluxe, Planet Robobot.
Local co-op added to the latter two. Maybe even online and local wireless for all.
Might be unlikely, but I'm pretty darn good at willing games into existence. Starting to believe reality really is just in my head. No one can reply to this comment unless I willfully render them in the programming. Please understand.
@IronMan30 Sakurai hasn’t worked on a Kirby game since Air Ride and advising a bit on Amazing Mirror. Shinya Kumazaki has been the director of many of the current modern age games.
In an interview he did say he was in contact with a previous director/s regarding advice on how to appeal to long time fans of the franchise. This person is most likely Sakurai.
Although Sakurai might give advice he isn’t working for HAL and hasn’t for years.
I’m sure he’s thrilled though!
@garfreek I guess if it’s retro Kirby then Kirby’s Dreamland and Kirby’s Adventure for sure . Kirby Superstar is my fave classic Kirby title but that’s snes so that might not be retro enough. So I guess DL1, DL2, and Kirby’s Adventure.
Zelda/Metroid could never.
Call it farfetched but I'd love a re-release of the Kirby anime
@JokerCK Have it be a riff on Mario 35. Maybe something like Kirby 30 or something (some nice alliteration there as well. It would certainly turn Kirby from easy to OH GOD NO as all the enemies start piling up, especially against bosses. King Dedede is gonna have a field day.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the game to celebrate Kirby 30th anniversary.
@Freek
I'll take F Zero GX game & watch.
@garfreek
Yeah they're great, I love both of mine.
Kirby's Dreamland and Kirby's Adventure, maybe Kirby's Dreamcourse would be fine.
@Kayvoo I'll take two thanks.
😁
@Freek Dreamcourse over Kirby Superstar for snes rep!? I know ppl like that spin off but Kirby Superstar is so popular in Japan it made it on the top 100 list there and has been so influential to later games in the franchise and smash brothers. I’d love deamcourse only if they put Kirby Superstar first lol
@Kirby_Girl I say that sarcastically because people accuse him of favoring Kirby in Smash. The "logic" with my joke Nintendo treats his character well, he'll keep making Smash Bros. Kind of a dumb joke, but I still like making it.
Kirby's awesome, I'm excited
How bout a sweepstakes for a trip to the Kirby Cafe? That’d be great.
I really like the concept of another Kirby remaster. I’ve really been wanting to play some of the better 2D games, so I’ll definitely bite if a collection is released.
@NinChocolate or like a Kirby cafe in like New York or something where I could actually visit
@IronMan30 oh I see. I’m biased so I’m all for Kirby being treated well and getting nice treatment in smash. I mean smash plays the way it does because of the Kirby games lol. Everything from how powers control, master hand, the mirror guard, and even the scrapped idea from dreamland about characters getting shot off stages. Sooo if he’s biased good lol
Sadly if Sakurai were as biased as ppl claim Kirby would be top tier again like n64 😩 I only wished he were but he’s been absolutely fair contrary to that nonsense from others.
Nintendo better keep up their nice treatment tho 😏
@OnlyItsMeReid Going to the Kirby Cafe is on my bucket list. I wanna go SO BAD.
How about adding all the smash bros copy ability’s to forgotten land?
@Kirby_Girl fwiw, I don't mind the bias. Kirby games have always been oddly enjoyable to me. Idk what it is that makes most of them so fun, but I like them a lot.
A collection of old Kirby games please
If the Mario Kart rumors pan out, hopefully Kirby in Mario Kart is part of the celebration...
Please, please, remake Epic Yarn for the right system this time! And, IDK, add online co-op. Or something. Just - WHY WAS THE REMAKE FOR 3DS AS IT HAD ONE FOOT OUT THE DOOR???
Really hope a Kirby Dream Collection 2 gets released this year.
Can't wait for Game and Watch: Kirby edition
