Monster Hunter Rise continues to add frequent events and indeed gifts of items to help players along. A big update this week made some tweaks and fixes while lining up event quests, and a rather charming one is now live.
That set is a recreation of armour from the very first game in the series, so will be particularly meaningful to players that have been on board since day one.
Below is the list of free goodies that can also be claimed from Senri the Mailman, which will help new players (or lapsed players stepping back in):
- Max Potion x 30
- Ancient Potion x 20
- Heavy Armor Sphere x 10
- Lazurite Jewel x 20
- Golden Egg x 5
The official Twitter account for the game is definitely worth following at the moment - there's extra activity around Rise thanks to the recent PC version, and there are regular snippets of information about the upcoming expansion, Sunbreak.
It might be time to fire up Rise for a few hunts.

Claiming this as soon as I'm done with work.
Ugh… I’m not a fan of rampages. Bummed that new armor is tied to this mode. Even though I’m good at it, it’s a slog.
I just want more resident evil content from capcom 😔
Haven't played Rise, but I'm curious if this game has more revealing clothing options for men and women?
Cool armor but not worth doing 3 rampages for. Why did they tie this to Rampages? This could have been a cool reward for completing one of the tougher Emergency Apex quests.
Am I the only one who just didn’t do the rampages past the first required one.
@blindsquarel There's at least one more required one past the first one. Most people probably just did them for materials to ramp up their weapons or make rampage weapons (some of which are very good). Are you not ramping up your weapons?
Rampages are by far the game's worst concept. I really hope Sunbreak doesn't have a heavy emphasis on them.
@MisterMan
I only did the single player stuff no online. And no I didn’t ramp them up. Never really got hard enough to warrant it for me. Especially since the rampages are so boring. There was only one required rampage for me.
@blindsquarel You can play the Hub in single player. So you just did the village which is low rank and very easy. You're missing out on quite a bit then.
@MisterMan
Yeah I know there is a secret final boss but I was ready to move on after the village quests on both playthroughs. Eh maybe next time I play.
@blindsquarel yeah, final boss, several elder dragons and few other monsters, new switch skills and a new tier of difficulty.
@russell-marlow I made a layered armor set using pieces of the last boss' gear, essentially bikini armor for my hunter. You can mix and match pretty much anything with the right materials while maintaining whatever defenses and skills you prefer. So the short answer is, if you want revealing attire for your hunter, you can absolutely have it, with a bit of creativity.
@Realness Good news is it's a really quick rampage. Main targets are one Rathalos and one Zinogre. Impossible to fail and doesn't take long at all.
Need to fireup the game and get the bonus.
@russell-marlow I guess? You can make some armor part invisible. There's also a swing wear look type armor/ layered armor, sexy pose and the layered armor is to make your character look your style without affecting stats, is fun
@Realness Agree, I only did it twice to get the full set, but since I have 2 characters it took me 4 tries total. Also is the rampage is not hard, there's no Apex monster there
@blindsquarel Too bad you didn't go for hub quests, those are also fun, plus the dragons, extra quests and high rank difficulty, if you decide to get sunbreak you're gonna have to do those first, if not, well at least you tried the game, hope you had some fun at least
I think i must be the only person on here who loves a good rampage…..problem is they are just not hard enough…..love to see rampage difficulty push right up.
@Shiro28
I loved the game just was ready to move on. But do you really need to do all the hub quests to play sun break. If so that is kinda trash considering how much it will cost.
@blindsquarel yeah, that's how MH has always handled the G rank expansions. Since it's a third tier of difficulty with new monsters, gear, maps, etc... you have to have cleared High Rank and it's marketed as such.
@Dualmask Good to know, but I guess it can't be as revealing as what you have in your profile, right? 😂
@Shiro28 I know this is a Monster Hunter game and that it's essentially all boss fights. But in Rise can you fight individual enemies or is it just giant singular boss battles?
@russell-marlow Mine has the default underwear and only leg amour because its hilarious.
Yes plz! Definitely going to put that on. While they're at it, bring back Lao-Shan Lung. Idc if it doesn't follow the lore. It will bring back good old memories!
@Uska sounds funny xD Your poor hunter must be freezing in the winter map
@russell-marlow I dunno, you tell me. https://twitter.com/Dualmask/status/1487286273232486402?t=ziBXJyxdrAyd7SMosoO0qA&s=19
@Dualmask I mean, your profile has 2B showing her in a g-string and that pic isn't exactly as risqué. So I don't think so.
Dragon's Dogma, another game on Switch, has what I was describing, shown directly from the wiki: https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Silk_Lingerie
@russell-marlow ah. Yeah, I’m a fan of that particular attire in DD too. Sadly, MH doesn’t go that far. But I think my hunter’s attire is still pretty appealing.
@Dualmask I guess if something like that were in a new game in 2021 coming from Capcom, then it would probably catch the unwelcome attention of western gaming journos.
And we all know what they are going too stir up.
@russell-marlow to be fair, MH is rated T and DD is rated M.
@Dualmask Oh. Well, I guess Capcom could always think about making a more darker and mature MH in the future if they want too. But that would probably hinder sales since it seems like they want too widen their audience seeing how they're also making kiddy spin-off MH games.
Love the armor.
@Lord
I love rampages too.
They're a massive improvement over the siege battles of previous games. Even single player rampages, which isn't the most ideal way to play them, are a great way to spice up the monotony of normal Quests. Multi-player rampages are excellent.
They're not something I'd want to play 100% of the time, but as 2% of the entire game, they're such a great way to add variety.
@russell-marlow Is all boss fights. The hunt comes with the challenge of defeating it with the weapon and provisions you have on hand. Collect it's parts and crate and/ or upgrade weapons and armor, rinse and repeat. It sounds boring but I assure it's not. Have you played the Demo? you can play that to get a feel of it. There are also even quests. It's a fun game to play with friends or random hunters, Rise is the best entry point for beginners of the series. Who know you might become a fan. I know I did in MH3 on the original Wii
@blindsquarel Yes. Sun break it's basically master rank AKA
G-Rank. The hub will get you from low rank then High rank and then Master Rank. If you only played the village quests, you pretty much only play part of the game and not the whole game. So you kinda only played 20$. If I were you I would at least play the whole game, considering how much you payed for it
EDIT: Also, no you don't need to play all the hub quest, just the key quests in the hub. Still you're missing on other quests if you only do that, but that's your call
