Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a massive new update, and the new Pro Camera App is one of the latest additions.
The new camera app adds two important features: the Handheld Camera and the Tripod Camera (learn how to unlock and use them in our guide), so now you can take selfies and close-up first-person photos.
But you can also move around while using the first-person camera, which means... you can now explore the Museum with your face. Check it out:
This is just a small sample of all the possibilities with this new first-person camera. Take closeups of Brewster and hang them in your bedroom like a creep, or be weirdos like us and take keepsake photographs of the fossilised poo.
Just be aware that you can't look behind you when in first-person mode. Not to scare you or anything... the game just won't let you!
What's the coolest thing you've seen or done in first-person mode? Let us know in the comments!

This is something the game needed so badly. I wanted to better see my donations clearly and the camera angles always seemed off or too zoomed out. I'm very excited.

Well this scared me a lot for some reason.
I think this photo mode is my favourite thing in the new update

Darn. It would have been a great opportunity to hide some easter eggs that can only be viewed in first person mode. Still it's awesome any time a game gets some kind of First Person Camera that didn't have it previously.
I legit bought the game b/c of seeing the museum in the trailer but not being able to look around in it like we can in our homes always bothered me. This is reason enough for me to turn it back on. Now it just needs Labo VR or camera support. Thanks.
My main problem is any video game in first person mode makes my head hurt and I throw up. I could not play PS games due to the frame rate or something. When my kids played Mario Kart in split screen they'd quietly take bets as to how quickly I'd have to leave the room heaving. Fun days.
The screen shots make it look like one of those first-person puzzle solving games.
It has better graphics than I expected.
:: invokes Blathers surprised reaction :: WHAT!?! Wait I didn't;t know there was a pro camera. Honestly, I always wondered why they never gave the ability to get up close with all these objects and decorations, etc. There's so much detail in everything in the game and I felt it was wasted potential. Not anymore! I'm going to press my face up against all the villager's front door windows next year for halloween just to be extra creepy 😂
Sweet coprolite bro.
Wait what, does this mean we can just walk around the whole game in first person o.o?
@Astral-Grain Eh, the only reason you can't see behind you just has to do with how the game's rendered. They don't want to reveal how they never modeled the back side of everything in the world.
still waiting for someone to craft an E1M1 island, so Animal Crossing can run Doom.
@tekoii pretty much! Except you move quite slowly and can’t look left and right (except small degrees in the museum). Though it does let you tilt a bit up and down.
@RobotReptile Ahh I see.. so its not like a full first person deal.. :/ Thanks though !
