Update: The fix has arrived. Here are the full patch notes for the DLC's new update.
Original Article: Animal Crossing: New Horizons' paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise, is now available to download from the Switch eShop. It offers a whole lot of new content to enjoy, but Nintendo has warned fans of some pesky bugs that can occur under certain conditions.
The problems occur when trying to remodel a resident's home while your airport's gates are open – as long as you avoid this for now, you shouldn't encounter any issues. Here's Nintendo's full statement, including a promise to release a patch to fix the issue later this month:
"Animal Crossing New Horizons players who own the Happy Home Paradise DLC may experience gameplay bugs if they visit Resident Services and ask to remodel a resident’s home while the gates at their airport are open.
We recommend players to not attempt to remodel an island resident’s home while the gates at their airport are open. As long as the airport gates are closed, you should not encounter these gameplay bugs when remodelling residents’ homes on your island.
If you encounter these gameplay bugs, please end your play session, close the game and re-launch it. Your save file will not be affected. We’ll share more details soon, and a patch to fix this issue will be released this month. We apologise for the inconvenience."

The Happy Home Paradise DLC is available now either as a standalone purchase from the eShop, or as part of the new Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.

Good advice as i got the dlc yesterday!
the fix will probably be that the gates will close don't you think? The 2.0 update didn't really open more thing for two players as well , as seen in alex/jon's video..
Well, let's hope they fix it soon
Here we go, update version 2.0.1 or 2.1.0
when I first read it (albeit at a glance), I thought there was new bugs to catch. Oh well, sh*t happens and my gates are closed anyway.
Why should I want to avoid bugs? I thought I gotta catch em all and gift them to my museum

When I invited a villager to my home yesterday, it provided the option to go to sleep if I laid in a bed, even though it prevents you from redecorating whilst you have a guest over.
I didn't try the option but I'd be curious what would happen if you did go to sleep when you have a visitor.
I ran into a silly bug when encountering Brewster. He walked and clipped into me, trapping us both in place. Thankfully the rescue service worked as a workaround.
So what happens when you trigger this glitch? It says your save file remains unaffected but doesn't say what it does.
The online experience is so bad in this game, even the Testers didn't want to use it.
running well here
@SmaggTheSmug "Hello, Rescue Service? Uh, yeah, I seem to be trapped in Brewster..."
Weird, but thank you for the heads up.
Glad to hear they're expanding the museum!
(What?! I meant the cafe! You thought I meant with more bugs? Oh...)
@RupeeClock doesn't work says it'd be rude to sleep with a guest over
I think I have encountered a bug on the happy home paradise. Lottie will not let me come out the restaurant part of the island, I have used all the items that has been asked of me in the kitchen area and yet she still says it’s not good enough, I am unable to leave the location and come out, I have to restart my game, as soon as I go back to the happy home paradise, it takes me right back to the restaurant again.
there is also a bug for some folks where they aren’t able to design the school because they never get to talk to lottie. a few of us are stuck with the school unlocked. i’ve built the café and unlocked roommates but i can’t resize my rooms. T-T i contacted support and i’m hoping they release a patch but i wanted to let other folks know, if they have this bug, they are not alone. ♡
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed that sounds horrible!! i hope you’re able to figure it out or have it fixed.
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed did you ever figure this issue out? i had the same problem before i realized there was a second room for the restaurant and that room required it's own furniture.
@mwxmwx I did, how embarrassing. I really thought there was a problem with the game, then I realised there was the kitchen area that had to be decorated. Though I still say there should of been an option to come out and finish later.
@cupcakefae thankfully the problem was me not realising that you had to decorate both the kitchen and reception area and that’s why I was so confused. Still strange though that there was no option to finish up and complete later to come out of that.
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed I had the exact same issue. I was getting really frustrating. I accidentally walked into the kitchen and that's how I realized what was going on.
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed i’m really glad to learn about your situation because this probably would have happened to me!!!
