Nintendo yesterday launched its 'Expansion Pack' service for Switch Online. It contains nine N64 titles and 14 Sega Genesis / Mega Drive games - so what's on the horizon beyond these initial offerings?
While Nintendo has teased a handful of games coming to the Nintendo 64 service in the near future like The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and F-Zero X, there is apparently a lot more on the way. According to dataminer MondoMega, there are "at least" 38 N64 games and 52 Sega Genesis / Mega Drive games planned for the paid subscription service.
The same dataminer also notes how more platforms beyond these two are likely to show up in the future. Some of the previous platforms rumoured for the service include Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles.
"and if you're still questioning additional NSO platforms beyond these two, look at the first number of the game IDs for each platform. N64 is 3, MD is 5; SNES was 2, you can figure out what that means."
What games from the Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis / Mega Drive generation would you like to see join the Switch Online service? Leave a comment down below.

I would like to see Killer Instinct Gold and Mortal Kombat Trilogy, but those seem unlikely at best.
Removed - unconstructive
I think platform number 4 is either Sega Master System or Turbo Grafx-16. Game Boy is probably number 6 whereas GBC and GBA could be number 7 and 8 respectively. It would make sense for SMS to be number 4 as it is a platform that came before the Genesis/Mega Drive.
@Rika_Yoshitake tbh it is a somewhat disapointing proposition.
In it's current form.
This said I'm really curious about "Megadrive" being identified as "5" whereas the N64 is "3" and SNES is "2"(and I assume NES is "1").
Because it makes me very much wonder what "4" will be, though if I'm to make a guess it's most likely going to be guaranteed to be a nintendo platform at the very least.
Now we can play Mario Party 2 boards with costumes again!
Conkers Bad Fur for N64 and Pulseman for the Genesis if possible.
@Specter_of-the_OLED I dunno.
Considering the first third party is a distant "5" and so far identified ones are "SNES=2" and "N64=3"(and I suspect NES=1), my guess is it'll be a first party platform.
I don't even care with N64 & Genesis games from NSO.
I'm content with just Normal NSO $20 for Online Play.
Maybe they will even bring some sega games they didn't already sell to all the Switch owners! 😛
I am not getting the expansion pack now, but if they bring new good games, I'll definitely consider it. Some GBA games eventually would be wonderful.
@Ludovsky It could go like this:
Home Consoles:
1 - NES/Famicom
2 - Super NES/Super Famicom
3 - Nintendo 64
4 - Sega Master System or Turbo Grafx-16/PC Engine
5 - Sega Genesis/Mega Drive
Handhelds:
6 - Game Boy
7 - Game Boy Color
8 - Game Boy Advance
9 - Game Gear
@LinktotheFuture Put KI'13 on the switch first. I need a physical release of that!!!
I’d be surprised if the Mario Party games come over considering Superstars is out this week. Still, I’d love to see them come since I’ve got my lovely new N64 controller to absolutely mangle.
Still not paying an extra $30 for these online emulators.
The basic $20 plan for online play suits me fine.
I was planning to try a family plan someday in the future, but I figured out if I didn't 3nter in a group now, it should be difficult in the future, so I already did
I'm just going to wait 6 months to a year and then see where were at,
Then we will know if more dlc gets added or not.
But I saw banjo on there at some point, so maybe tooie as well.
Jet force gemini
Goldeneye
Conkers
Diddy kong racing
Dk 64
If most of them get added, for me I would get the year subscription. Not played them since I was a kid, so will be good fun to play and then maximise my year out of the service. Then downgrade to the regular one. The ACNH I can wait 6 months or longer for the expansion and I know I wont last a year playing that, so I'm good with that.
I always get excited hearing stuff like this……..then remember It’s Nintendo and I can just emulate them for free whenever I want.
I hope Pokémon Stadium and Donkey Kong 64 are among the 38 games. If they ever add GBA then please release Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
@gamefan37 like any rareware game.
Reguardless of how you look at it, Nintendo did have a hand in KI. The newest one would be amazing to take on The go.
Would really like to see Body Harvest and Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Mischief Makers better make it to the service.
I'm already salty that I gave in and paid for the expansion pass and just as I feared, it's a vastly mediocre upgrade, both in emulation quality and online functionality and I can only assume that the executives at NoJ have either lost their minds or gone completely tyrannical at even thinking that the pricing was fair for this product at launch.
Before you go off and daydream the likes of Goldeneye and so on, I would have to remind everyone that the NES and SNES app were pleaged with "SP" versions of games.
Chances are, some of those entries could be those, like a maxed out OOT entry or 70 Stars Mario 64, that sort of thing.
@Bailey5000 Forget GoldenEye 007 coming because the license for Bond will be VERY EXPENSIVE for Nintendo to get
Man can't wait for Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
Ok ok....maybe I WILL sub
Now if we get that many games maybe the 50$ Isn’t that bad of a price for the service.
@gamefan37
"...no, conker's bad fur day will never be added ever because Nintendo is not going to risk getting backlash from parents that get mad about Nintendo added it because it has swearing, alcohol use, sexual stuff and extremely gross stuff in the game..."
Explain Bayonetta, Metroid Prime, and Devil's Third.
And besides, if Nintendo really was afraid, they'd put a warning before you play the game. You know, like they did with Conker on N64.
Edit: I get it, I made invalid points, but please stop pinging me, this has been going on for a while.
@gamefan37 Unless Nintendo manages to pay a BIG sum of Money for the GoldenEye 007 License which Nintendo more than likely does not have at all (Even with the Switch's Success, Nintendo does not have the money for such thing considering the financial turmoil they had to suffer with the Wii U).
We are thankful we got the Rare Games on the NSO's N64 because Nintendo allowed Microsoft to publish games on the Switch under their name (specially Cuphead and the Ori games)
I just want GameCube. I won’t pay a dime until I get Rogue Leader, Melee, and Luigi’s Mansion.
The Nintendo Virtual Drip Feeder where you can pay 50 bucks a year to get a random selection of games at random times using Nintendo’s patented quasar based random number generator but don’t worry they’ve set it so you’ll never get games on a monthly basis that’s what lesser subscriptions do.
@gamefan37
Why not? They added GBA to Wii U VC and 10 GBA games to 3DS VC as ambassador program exclusive.
@HotGoomba I don't think the Street Fighter games will be added here at this point in time considering that the games are already out in the Switch with the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. a very successful title specially Digitally. and Not to mention Ultimate Street Fighter II the Final Fighters which came earlier than that
And so, Capcom does not need to add the Street Fighter games, unlike like Sega, which is desperate in some ways to get its Megadrive/Genesis Anniversary collection sold (because of some bad press they had at Launch)
Now that would be bang for your buck, most people would not complain about getting that many games in addition to the NES and SNES games we already have, that would be value I could get behind.
wait, the N64 had 38 games?
WaveRace is going to make me jump on board..at least for a bit
At that price point, you'd have to add GBA and GC games before I'd be willing to buy. Way too overpriced.
Shining Force CD/3 ?! A guy can hope right?
@gamefan37
You sound pretty confident, wanna share any of your sources? Otherwise you have no reason to say X is happening, Y isn't, Z is gonna be called this.
Idk why I would pay Money to play Emulated games, That I can Emulate, myself right at home.
Could be on the way? That does not mean that all 38 N64 games will be on the Switch and we won’t even talk about the 52 Sega games because that’s just laughable. Just because they found 38 N64 games doesn’t mean all of them are going to be on there.
I would LOVE if the game between Waverace and Yoshis Story was one of the WWF games (WM2000 or No Mercy)... But it's probably Wipeout.
@Bailey5000 We will never get goldeneye. Not only does that have to go through rare and Microsoft, but the Broccoli’s as well.
@LArachelDisciple the best Mario Party for sure.
@Snatcher I don’t think this is designed for people who own them
@Snakesglowcaps Pretty sure Disney would rather repackage Rogue Leader and sell it to you for 40 before they put it on a Nintendo streaming app.
I'm good
I have 244 N64 games all complete in their boxes.
So I'll be playing those, no waiting for Nintendo to drip feed them to me for a fee.
Just completed this.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gjUWKYNLAMfMBK0glExVGajMeBc0htbV/view?usp=drivesdk
How about the original Animal Crossing? Ok maybe only for Japan but Conker's Bad Fur Day could be a possibility if there is an agreement!
I'm sure Game Boy games will come one day, and maybe DS games too if the Wii U VC is is to be referenced. If GCN games came to the expansion then that price would be worth it definitely.
Speaking about something related, I liked how you could buy Wii games via the eshop on the Wii U, though that was likely because of backwards compatibility...
I only own 43 N64 games and most are Nintendo made, Mario 64 for example. It might have more than my collection! Just maybe...
@NintendoByNature i would wait and not trust the leaks and datamines just yet
@Rika_Yoshitake the games don't run particularly well, the online is basically unplayable. You think everyone should be happy?
As for Genesis games I have 52 games including Sega CD and 32X. Be great to have Sonic CD and for 32X Knuckles Chaotics!
now for them to release a N64 Classic Mini...lol
Honestly, just give me Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, DK64 and Blast Corps (or Michief Makers) and I'll be happy with the N64 online
@gamefan37 maybe Perfect Dark
@nessisonett
I don't think the existence of Mario Party SuperStars prevents Mario Party 1-3 from being brought over to NSO.
20+ year old games being playable over to modern platforms via a subscription service won't hurt the sales of new games on said platform. (I can guarantee you Link's Awakening will be one of the playable titles when GB/GBC is added to NSO, even though Link's Awakening 2019 exists).
Can't wait for all the poorly emulated D-list 3rd party shovelware!
@Emmerichcoal I’m in for all three shining force 3 games. I don’t even care what they cost.
I guess we will find out in five years.
@faint As in, Emulated right at home.
Who's up for some Earthworm Jim 3D and Superman 64???
The release of N64 NSO has caused me to reflect a lot on that system. And I'm really hard pressed to even think of 10 N64 games I'd like to play. It has a handful of great games but it's a really weak system when you think about it. 38 games is really gonna scrape the bottom of the barrel.
Anyone who expects all them within 2 years.. at least..
Couldn’t spring for the N64 mini, eh, Nintendo?
Don’t worry, when you needed relevance most during your blundering Wii U days, you managed to knock its out of the park with the Switch, and we’re all very happy for you.
But your complacency is breeding that draconian hubris of the NES and Wii days, and before you know it: POW BLOCK! You no longer have a dedicated handheld market to fall back on when your next new gimmick fails to impress. Better hope the Switch has a shelf life similar to the PS2.
Do better, Nintendo. You’re so good when you’re struggling, and it sucks it gotta be that way.
@Clammy We know Nintendo drip feeds their own stuff, but we have no idea how sega is going to handle it.
Working within those confines coupled with the N64 VC releases we saw on the Wii U, and below is my best guess of what Nintendo intends to release for N64 online. Titles denoted with an * are those that I have less confidence in and believe that one of the substitutes at the end could instead stand in for those ones that I'm less sure of. Here we go:
1. 1080 Snowboarding
2. Banjo-Kazooie
3. Banjo-Tooie*
4. Bomberman 64*
5. Bomberman Hero*
6. Donkey Kong 64
7. Dr. Mario 64
8. Excitebike 64
9. F-Zero X
10. Harvest Moon 64*
11. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
12. Mario Golf
13. Mario Kart 64
14. Mario Party
15. Mario Party 2
16. Mario Party 3
17. Mario Tennis
18. Mega Man 64*
19. Mischief Makers*
20. Mystical Ninja Goemon*
21. Ogre Battle 64
22. Paper Mario
23. Perfect Dark
24. Pilotwings 64
25. Pokemon Puzzle League
26. Pokemon Snap
27. Pokemon Stadium 2
28. Resident Evil 2*
29. Sin & Punishment
30. Star Fox 64
31. Super Mario 64
32. Super Smash Bros
33. Wave Race 64
34. Win Back
35. Worms Armageddon*
36. Yoshi's Story
37. Zelda Majora's Mask
38. Zelda Ocarina of Time
If a title doesn't have an asterisk next to them, I think they're essentially a given at this point. Initially I wouldn't have thought that the first Mario Party would be considered, but there really is no other third game that reasonably could have appeared between Mario Kart and Mario Tennis alphabetically.
*Alternates - These are strong contenders that easily could replace some that I have marked above with an asterisk:
Bomberman 64 The Second Attack
Cruis'n USA
Cruis'n World
Diddy Kong Racing
Pokemon Stadium
Rayman 2
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Quest 64
Wipeout 64
I Know Diddy Kong Racing seems like an obvious given, but I'm not so sure, whatever deal they've worked out with Rare might be kinda limiting, I imagine Conker's Bad Fur Day likely isn't joining the roster, nor is Goldeneye for obvious reasons, for this reason, I'm not even sure that Banjo-Tooie will arrive after the original does. Plus for DKR, with Mario Kart 64 already in there, they may not feel there is much need for another Kart Racer in the collection.
It seems redundant to me, to include both Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2, yet at the same time, I really would not be surprised to see both join the service. Still, I'm inclined to think we'll only see 2 in the service which is why I didn't include the first title in my main guess.
@CharlieGirl I love how creating a new service with extremely terrible value for money has made people think the original NSO service is now worth $20 a year. Nintendo are the masters of marketing.
@Angelic_Lapras_King
SP versions do not take up a unique game ID. For example, Super Mario Kart (the only SNES game with a SP version) is codenamed "S-2016_[region]" while regular Super Mario Kart SP version is codenamed "S-2016_[region]-sp1".
There are 38 unique N64 games and 52 unique Genesis games listed.
@HotGoomba The difference is that Bayonetta etc are separate products, while Conker would raise the age rating for the entire Online service. That's just bad business.
@Xiovanni the time for complaining about it has passed.
@duffmmann another possibility for the game beginning with W is one of the WWF ones
Can't wait for all those games to be available in 2045.
NSO = 20 bucks/year
NSO + EP = 50 bucks/year
NSO + EP + GB/GBA = 100 bucks/year???
I'm excited for Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, PC Engine/Turbografx 16, and hopefully Dreamcast and Gamecube coming to Switch.
As far as systems already on it I'd LOVE to be able to play Parodius on Switch! The best would be the Saturn or PlayStation Parodius games, but any Parodius game would be very welcome. Super Famicom Parodius games are very good. I'd also like to have Gun-Nac, Overhorizon, Super Famicom Wars, Gameboy Wars, Earthbound, Super Aleste, wipEout 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Blast Corps, Sonic 3, Super Bomberman 1 and 2, Pilotwings 64, Goldeneye (with better frame rate), San Fransisco Rush, Rush 2, Truxton 1 and 2, Guardian Legend, Chrono Trigger, and all the Final Fantasy games from NES SNES and SFC (translated into English). There are others, I just can't think of all the awesome games for all these systems off the top of my head!
Superman 64 just to say screw you to those complaining
@FishyS Musha Aleste hasn't been on Switch until this expansion pack. It is awesome! I've played MUSHA more than any other game that's part of this group of ROMs. I've also been enjoying Ocarina of Time, Yoshi's Story, Dr. Mario 64, and Strider.
@duffmmann It would be so great to have Worms Armageddon and wipEout 64 on Switch! I'd also like to have more Bomberman games. N64 ones would be cool, but all the SNES and Super Famicom Bomberman games would be way better.
@Snakesglowcaps Gamecube would be a dream. There's about 50 Gamecube games I'd love to play on my Switch.
@Arkantos2990 I wish the owners of the Goldeneye license wanted to get rich. They could release a stand-alone digital and physical Goldeneye on Switch that has both the Xbox version that ran at 60fps and the classic 14fps N64 version. I would buy it and talk about it to everyone. Would be awesome to have an online multiplayer Goldeneye on Switch!
Scratch that and make it gamecube please
Why are people still repeating their opinion about the price and declaring that they aren’t buying these? GOOD FOR YOU, NOW MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE!
that is a pathetic low amount of games for $50
They need to fix the current ones before we see new ones please
@Leksa The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing
Gonna guess #4 is gameboy ..and why not gba too.. what are they gonna do.. wait another year before they add a couple more systems?
@HotGoomba It would be annoying if Street Fighter 2 came to the Mega Drive and not the SNES! SNES versions have far better music and sound effects.
Part of me is still hopeful that Nintendo pushed up the subscription price because they had to pay a small fortune to get Goldeneye!!
(I mean, surely it hasn't all gone to SEGA? That seems like nonsense when you consider there are already so many individual SEGA games and the Mega Drive collection on Switch - of which sales have surely dried up?!)
Goldeneye is something we definetly need. I don’t care in what form, but we need it bad!
1080 and Waverace are essential!
After that Goldeneye
Maybe the long lost Earthbound 64 they have hidden deep in their archives?
@Specter_of-the_OLED I want Sega CD games so I can play Snatcher on my Switch. I've been wanting it to be ported to newer consoles for decades now.
@Xiovanni,
Played some games last night, and they played and looked fine to me, of course if you are a retro obsessive you will find fault with anything.
Canceled my subscription renewal!!!!
Am upgrading two weeks later, just after my Christmas bonus. A little easier on the wallet.
I am definitely getting the upgrade. But I do hope that Nintendo will be a bit quicker with releasing new titles. I also hope they are not forgetting the NES and SNES library,. We still need plenty of classics to appear there.
@Leksa "Why are people still repeating their opinion about the price and declaring that they aren’t buying these? GOOD FOR YOU, NOW MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE!"
I know, right, I'm tempted to put them all on Ignore so those of us who actually like playing games instead of nitpicking over trivial nonsense can discuss them.
The switch online expansion is a bit of a rip off , asking for an extra £17 just to play n64 and mega drive games , I can play on an emulator on my pic for free. I’ll stick to standard switch online , if it was extra £ 5 maybe. If they added messaging , party chat , perks , folders , themes then most probably 😉
@Gwynbleidd fine by me
Yes we all know you can steal them for free and play them on emulator. Are you posting that in every movie review also? My local liqour shop is also a big rip off since I can steal the booze for free!
I'd be happy with a Majora's Mask release for N64 and Streets of Rage 1 and 3 + Sonic 1 and 3 + Knuckles for the Megadrive.
I'd love to see Killer Instinct Gold, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for the N64 but we all know Microsoft is likely to hoard them for their own platform.
@Clyde_Radcliffe It's been funny, people absolutely foaming at the mouth, veins popping out over a service they're not even signed up to. It'd be like me losing the plot over Animal Crossing or Pokemon, even though I would never touch either.
I think some people just like to get caught up in outrage.
Yeah let’s just wait and see. Will they go all in on a totally botched flop of a product? Maybe!
@Rika_Yoshitake not upset just uninterested. Personally, id pay more for a better overall online experience over old games.
@WiltonRoots,
Scary thing is I have bought the expansion, and will probably not even touch the retro games all that much, will use the Animal crossing expansion though.
Three personal wishes:
1. Additional games not being 100% the ones we already have available in collections and mini consoles. Musha is a good start here, but sadly the only exception.
2. Regular additions in all platforms, NES and SNES too, not 5 games now, 2 more in several months and then 3 more, and months of silence.
3. More platforms, of course. Game Boy (classic) is predictable. I wish PC Engine was another one.
@LinktotheFuture True. Personally would love MK Mythologies myself.
@SmaggTheSmug Touché.
If all this shows up, it will increase the likelyhood I get it. Meanwhile, I will let other people pay for the development. I have subsidised NSO for long enough.
@BlackenedHalo Please tell me that 'evil' quote was ironic.
Oh, that sounds nice!
Removed - unconstructive
This… is what you call damage control.
Good on them for leaking this 😂
@Anti-Matter Well, you better not get too comfortable with $20 a year for too long. Once more Platforms come and more games come, Nintendo is going to drop the $20 plan all together. It will be $50 a Year, just like Xbox Gold and PSN. Like it or not, I seriously think that will be the Near Future!
@SnesSwitch I hope it happens that way, it will only make Nintendo Switch Online Better!
@Xiovanni The N64 games look fantastic! Don't buy into all the nitpicking. The removal of the fog and the higher resolution makes 99.99% of the entire game look better. Input lag is a complete non-issue, it's not noticeable and doesn't effect game play AT ALL. And that's the important part of testing for input lag.
Also the cost isn't $50 if you already have the Online Subscription. It's pro-rated so I only paid $35 for the year. (It shows you at checkout what you will actually pay.)
The real question is for the second year. Will we be getting a few games like Tetris 99 or more DLC? That's where the service will get me to pay $50 or not...next year!
you gotta love gamers. look at all the whining about a service that has been active for 2 days lol
@Mattock1987 I have doubts that any game with real people in the roster will make the cut as that carries extra licensing fees. For that reason I also didn't include any Blitz game despite the fact that I think they'd be a great fit. Granted, Tecmo Bowl on NES Online has removed all real world player names, but that's probably way easier to accomplish in an old NES rom, especially one that doesn't audibly call out names at that.
@LinktotheFuture Still more likely to appear on N64 NSO than WWF No Mercy…..thanks to a certain Mr Benoit… 😒
Small shame that based on the game names they've confirmed that there is no room for Space Station Silicon Valley to appear. That's a great little forgotten gem of the N64.
I still find it odd for Nintendo to release more genesis titles than n64 ones. I guess this proves the Nintendo Switch is the best Sega console ever released.
@duffmmann this is a great list! I would make a few tweaks
First, I feel these Rare games are near-certainties, as I suspect there was a package deal for most of their catalogue:
1) Diddy Kong Racing
2) Jet Force Gemini
3) Blast Corps
4) Banjo Tooie
This one is iffy as it's on X-box, but I still think it has a good shot:
1) Killer Instinct Gold
Probably not going to happen due to licensing issues:
1) Goldeneye
2) Mickey's Speedway USA
Probably not for...other reasons:
1) Conker's Bad Fur Day
I would LOVE to see Resident Evil 2...but is this just wishful thinking?
Curious why you put the Cruis'n games and Quest 64 on there as they were universally panned
@Rhaoulos is not all that odd when you recognize that outside of the great 1st and 2nd party games released on the N64, there weren't that many great 3rd party titles worth adapting to the service. While the Genesis was loaded with great games from many developers. Furthermore, the total N64 library is rather small compared to the total number of games that the Genesis saw. I'm not surprised at all to see that the Genesis will end up with more games than the N64.
Fingers crossed they will include the following that are ACTUALLY feasible!:
1) DK 64
2) Banjo Tooie
3) Jet Force Gemini
4) Diddy Kong Racing
5) Blast Corps
6) Space Station Silicon Valley
7) Hybrid Heaven
8) Mischief Makers
9) Resident Evil 2
10) Turok 2
11) Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
12) Rayman 2
Any of this wishful thinking? I know we probably will never get Goldeneye, Conker's Bad Fur Day, or WWF No Mercy
Yeah whatever. It's a hard sell right now, especially with all the bad emulation problems they have. Would so much prefera VC over this garbage. Buying individual titles or unlock each system for 10,-/year flatrate and customize your subscription that way.
Ugh. Nintendo.
@Arkantos2990 Nintendo is sitting on a lot of money and capital. The company is over 132 years old (founded in 1885), it would take multiple heavy failures to destroy them.
As for Goldeneye, I don’t see it happening regardless of money. Eon, specifically Barbara Broccoli, didn’t like the game after Albert passed away. It doesn’t fit their current language on Bond representation. Other game developers commented on the stingy language in Eon’s contracts when developing a Bond game. If Nintendo were able to do it, they probably would, but Eon wants changes on a re-release; regardless if it’s emulated or not.
@Leksa Emulation isn't stealing anything.
@cmbaum unless they later expand the 38 item list, there is no room for Space Station Silicon Valley with how they've alphabetically filled in the list. Which is a shame as it's a great hidden gem of the system.
I have doubts on how many Rare games we'll get. I think for sure DK64, Banjo Kazooie, and Perfect Dark will join. More like Diddy Kong Racing, Tooie, or Jet Force Gemini are certainly possible, but I think they'll want to diversify the 3rd party offerings a bit, so a sequel from Rare and another kart racer on top of the already included MK64 feel a little less likely to me.
And considering the N64 Turok games are already available on the Switch, I really doubt they'd join the service as well (likewise for Doom 64 and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer).
Finally, to your earlier question, I think any Cruis'n game for the system could easily happen is because Nintendo themselves published the N64 versions of those games to the N64, with Cruis'n USA being one of the few 3rd party N64 games that was also released on the original Wii's virtual console.
@Moistnado It’s piracy if you don’t own a copy of the game you are emulating
@gamefan37
If that turns out to be true then by the time they get to GBA the Switch lifecycle will be near the end. The question then will be are they going to have all the games released up to that point on the next console or will they start with NES again.
@Don For what it's worth, it's probably a safe bet that Nintendo's next system will essentially be a 'Switch 2', and if they're smart, all games and services from the first Switch will continue to work on the successor. So a GBA app released near the end of the OG Switch's life, could still stick around for another 5 or 6 years for the follow-up system.
Can we just get a remastered Waverace?
Snowboard Kids and Diddy Kong racing please.
@duffmmann ah! Great deductive reasoning there! I stand mostly corrected, though I'm 100% positive Banjo Tooie and DK Racing will be added due to demand
If any Nintendo Exes are reading this, let this be a PSA to PLEASE get Space Station Silicon Valley added to this list!
@gamefan37 cite your source or stop being an ass about someone wanting a video game on their system.
This is literally the second time I was tagged by you without replying
Just to counteract all the negative comments about the pricing of this, I just upgraded my membership and actually saved myself £7 a year compared with what I was previously playing!! I'd foolishly kept to a monthly payment instead of yearly until now, meaning this was a better deal for me - it's nice when things work out...
(Looking at that list, though, I'm a bit sad we won't be getting Snowboard Kids - I remember quite enjoying that on my N64. I can't wait for F-Zero and Banjo-Kazooie, though... hoping we get a couple of new games a month for the next little while)
Gee, can't wait to see those poorly emulated also! /s
It will be whatever was on Wii VC.
@gamefan37 Maybe in the (heavily decayed) Japanese Gaming Industry but Nintendo is not the richest company of Japan overall
@SamirMalik
I suggest quitting while you’re ahead. The one you’re replying to (gamefan37 also known as dinofan37, dannyphantomfan36, desireefan36) is Terry Syvertson someone well known on Twitter and YouTube for bullying, harassing, and sending death threats to anyone that doesn’t share the same opinions as he does or anyone that makes jokes.
Here's what won't be on the way: Conker's, any 007 game, any Star Wars game, and pretty much any other 3rd party title. I also doubt Pokemon Stadium will be there, since Nintendo has never made an effort to add in before. Half of those slots will probably go to 3-4 tennis and golf games, judging how Nintendo handled SNES/NES.
Fingers crossed for Body Harvest
@Leksa it's piracy if you steal a ship on the open seas. Emulation may enter grey areas with copyright infringement but it certainly isn't theft.
@Moistnado If you haven't previously purchased a copy of the game then yes, theft is exactly what it is.
While I can see the value of emulation for those who have vast libraries of physical games they can't play any more due to issues like incompatibility between old and modern hardware, I suspect there are a very large number of people who use it to play stuff they haven't paid for, including for games/platforms that are pretty new and still able to be purchased easily. They are making a choice to steal that content instead of paying the creator/owner.
I know it won't happen but I want Gauntlet Legends. It is still one of my favorite co-op games because it's the only action/adventure RPG I know of that is also multiplayer. It was a decent length game too and I'm sad the series hasn't done anything similar since Dark Legacy
@psyraven76 but if the games are stolen, how come the NSO service hasn't shut down? Nintendo still has the games, nothing has been stolen!
@HotGoomba It's more that the app itself is rated T. Compilations are rated by the the highest rating included.
@Moistnado Now you're just being deliberately obtuse. If someone stole a crate of Switch consoles off the back of a lorry, would you say they weren't stolen just because there were other shops still selling Switch consoles?
Lol its really poor quality this whole "service"
Nintendo should hire those creators of those emulators, they did a better job than Nintendo.
@psyraven76 well, in your example, consoles were stolen. Emulation does not involve stealing consoles from lorries or anywhere else. Are you being obtuse?
Is Interesting how a lot of people think emulation is right just because is easy and a lot of people do lt (including me), yeah yeah sometimes is hard to find some games at a good price, but people who always use emulation as an excuse, are the ones who wouldn't buy an old game at a good price.
Thanks to those who emulate or test games, then try to buy the game for a reasonable price if is good.
@HotGoomba When was the last time you played Metroid Prime dude? It’s just barely violent enough to get a T rating, but it’s not even COMPARABLE to Devils Third, Bayonetta, or Conker.
@Goat_FromBOTW I was referring to the Game Over screens. I should've been more specific.
@HotGoomba yeah that makes more sense lol
Well hopefully we see some more games on there, if so I will upgrade to this tier. Also hoping to see some more NES/SNES before Christmas as that service has been a bit dry...
After over two years, barely any games since this unreliable leak.
