Fortnite might be popular, but it's also drawn a lot of criticism as it's become more and more successful.
The recently appointed manager of Italian football club AS Roma, Jose Mourinho β famous for leading the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United to silverware glory β has now shared his own thoughts about Epic Game's free-to-play battle royale.
In a series of rapid-fire questions on social media for his new club, he's revealed how he thinks it's a bit of a "nightmare".
He elaborates on this stating how football players stay up all night playing that [redacted], even if they have a game the next day.
Here it is in full:
Fortnite's relation with football extends to adding real players to the game, such as Neymar Jr., who can turn into a robot cat in the game, because reasons.

Great stuff, now dunk on FIFA.
yup! lol I agree
In this context, I suspect he'd have this opinion on any game. From his perspective, it's a very literal case of NSFW.π
I mean come on, what is Fortnite anymore? UFO's? Music? or all of it? Its just random stuff now.
I donβt really get the urge to rage about how bad Fortnite is to be honest. Thereβs worse stuff out there for sure.
Michael Owen also doesnβt like fortnite. Is this news
@Snatcher
All of it. Epic wants to create an actual Metaverse. That's their long-term ambition. Yes, Metaverse, like in Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. And Fortnite's their ticket there. Apparently.
@nessisonett Because it's nature and popularity is leading creatively bankrupt companies from trying anything new and just pursuing the Fortnite model with crappier and crappier clones.
@Maulbert I dunno, if companies werenβt trying to make battle royale games then theyβd be making metroidvanias or survival multiplayer games or whatever. There will always be trends. Even then, this wave of battle royales is nowhere near as prominent as the wave of MMORPGs in the 2000s.
Pretty sure he just doesnβt like his players staying up late before games playing video games. Fortnite was used because of several of the players on his team playing it.
Fortnite is actually a good game (not my cup of tea but playing in short bursts with my kids is fun) but itβs the in thing right now to bleep on it from a great height.
Morinho is right though, some people are addicted to it and you shouldnβt be playing it until 5am when you have work (a football match) the next day. No wonder he hates it.
Ah yes, free publicity
I don't get the appeal of it at all, but I understand it's very popular and might be the biggest thing happening in pop culture right now.
I mean, for someone in his position, of course it's a nightmare. It can be very easy to sink a ton of time into Fortnite without realizing it, especially when playing with a good group of friends.
All he needs to do is endorse Splatoon and he will be a legend.
