Just bought a PS4 physical copy of the first game as I read it was a mix of Bayonetta and Persona on a smaller budget.
Removed - offensive remarks
@Bl4ckb100d Not sure the Taiwanese would appreciate that
Really enjoyed the first game, art was fab, story was nice enough but it looked rough in portable mode at times, hope they can improve that.
Always nice to see more games from the country of Taiwan.
@xiao7 oh my bad, I can't differentiate mainland Chinese from Taiwanese Mandarin
Played and enjoyed thanks to Jordan from SwitchWatch who recommended. Pretty good game for people into hack & slash games with Anime vibes.
It was a nice, short little hack-n-slash. Definitely had some rough spots, mainly in handheld. Nothing to write home about, and glad I had gotten the first one on a steep sale. I may look at 2 once it’s on a steep sale itself depending on reviews.
Literally just finished this game. It’s good. Can’t wait for the sequel
I gave up on the original shortly in because it was pretty much the definition of bland.
What really put me off was the requirement to unlock new levels........you had to back track older levels to find collectables you missed in order to open new levels (ala mobile games getting 3 stars)
Maybe it was just me not exploring properly the first time through the level........but it could have been worse ala the RWBY games level of blandness.
As for the sequel, Im not having high expectations but Im not writing it off completly......yet
I really liked the first game and am super excited for the sequel!!
As an adult, I love these mid-budget games that I can enjoy fully without devoting dozens of hours or learning some super complex system.
dug the first game, but MAN, some awful editing of dialogue. some pretty gruesome typos, and some unfinished code popped up on multiple occasions. hope they have a bit more money to spend on the sequel.
@Bl4ckb100d Since when games country origin has become an argument ?
I think mine is sealed away in a box somewhere that I have to dig up????? But will still buy the sequel.
Still have the 1st one for Switch. 👍🏼
@Friscobay since said country became known for blatant plagiarism.
What. I never even knew there was a dusk diver 1. Looks cool tho.
@Bl4ckb100d yeah. This country is also known for being the most populated and producing the most manufactured goods for the entire planet. How does that translates into your values ? Let’s collect all the cliches about different countries and judge all the people in it accordingly. Does it ring a bell ?
Good to know, the first one has been quite fun so far.
@Friscobay no need to argue with someone about not wanting a game from a certain country, their values are not your business.
@BeautyandtheBeer John Cena would like to have a word with you
@Friscobay Maybe that person is against child slave labor? Or maybe they are against communism? Or maybe they are against concentration camps that the CCP have? Or they're against any of the dozens of other human rights abuses that China partake in.
@Uska calling out said flawed values is fair game. Bet everyone here in this comment section owns something that can be traced back to China
I played the first and it was pretty tedious. Hopefully this one will be better.
@Arawn93 I never said that people don't own anything from China, im just saying that its not anyone's business to make assumptions of some values, someone avoiding stuff from China becuase of plagiarism is not a flawed value, its a opinion that hold bunch of examples. There are a ton of different types of media that do it there, heck I look of Chinese plagiarism and I find a whole bunch of articles and websites about it.
@Uska do as you say. Mind your own. I wonder what values you got from « ugh Chinese games, no thank you » comment.
@durrdevil so being born and live in a certain country does make you complice with the actions it’s oppressing gouvernement undertakes for its own sake ? Funny, tell another one. Dont remember anyone cancelling American sodas for trumps migration policies. Otherwise let’s dive into the history and see what we can blame you for…
God I hate Musou type games.
If you don't want to wait, you can import an English version of Dusk Diver 2 from Play Asia. Came out back in February.
@Bl4ckb100d you did realise there are quite a number of fantastic indie games recently were developed in mainland China and published by other oversea publishers right? Many cutscenes/animation in western / Japanese big studios were also done by Chinese studios.
Maybe you should grow up and realise that every country's citizen is just trying to live their ordinary life, regardless of their political situation.
Hating a game /any form of art based on which country produced is simply childish and extremely disrespectful.
This wasn’t already localized?
…I have an Asia/English copy in route from Play Asia
I never knew about this game series but now that I do, I like what I see! I will most likely be picking both entries up soon! 😉
I didn't get the first one due to so-so reviews. Like the 6/10 from this site. Hopefully second one is better, I guess
@hd94 hating a game for its source country is childish? on the contrary my boy, it's an old way of thinking that will hopefully die someday, I just happen to be from that generation and not planning to change my opinions because of some rando on the internet.
@Chocobo_Shepherd @CactusMan Encouraged to get this now. I have been looking for a game that's kinda similar to Persona 5 Strikers since I enjoyed that one a lot. Been looking at Persona 4 Ultimax but I'm not interested in fighting games anymore so this seems like a better option.
@CactusMan Yeah I think so too. Can't really get into fighting games anymore despite being a huge SF (especially the Zero/Alpha games) fan as a kid. Ultimax I am tempted to get since I love Persona's writing, characters and setting. Not sure if that is enough to get me through the gameplay though. I will surely check this one out. I heard about Dusk Diver a while back but forgot it existed since there isn't a lot of marketing for the game.
I heard the first game was a hidden gem of sorts. It's too bad it's impossible to find it physically anywhere anymore...will keep my eyes on the sequel
@CactusMan Definitely wise to wait. The game is in need of some serious patches. I imported the game, and it is a bit rough. Had to stop playing it because I keep getting a gamebreaking bug where I complete a mission and the camera remains on the cutscene stand-ins of the characters, despite the cutscene being over. Even if I leave the area and load a new one, the camera always remains on the cutscene characters.
