Cris Tales, the upcoming JRPG love letter from Modus Games, will now launch on Switch and other platforms this July, it's been confirmed.
Originally planned to launch back in November, the game was pushed back to ensure that the developers had "a chance to bring the best version" to fans who have been awaiting its release. The new July 2021 release window news is accompanied by a lovely new trailer that showcases just a few of the locales that you'll be exploring in the game.
You can check that out for yourself above; Cris Tales promises "stunning, time-bending" JRPG action when it arrives this summer.
Cris Tales is an era-bending JRPG where past, present and future are brought together on one screen. Players can use Crisbell’s amazing ability to slip between time periods to both aid citizens across Crystallis’ kingdoms and perform surprise attacks on enemies. If Crisbell wants to save her magical world from the evil that threatens it, she must make use of her power to shape the past, present and future while gathering allies that will help her in her quest.

I'm really curious to see the reviews of this game. If it reviews well i'll certainly pick it up.
Tried the demo on this, didn't care for it at all.
Seems very much like one of those all style no substance types of deals to me.
Looks absolutely incredible.
Got a bit confused at first since this game isn't from a Japanese studio. But I can understand that JRPG implies turn-based and not necessarily its literal definition.
@Expa0 I was also disappointed in the demo. There was far too much hand-holding for my taste. I really like the art style; I found it very charming. If a positive review reveals that this demo is actually an early-game tutorial and not representative of the game as a whole, I would consider geting it during a sale.
Played the demo a while back and enjoyed it a lot. Can't wait for it to come out! Looks very promising so far!
Good, and July release might up the odds of me getting this at launch.
I'm certainly excited about this one, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be unnecessarily long.
@Carlos1996 JRPG does not mean "made in Japan" or that it's turn based. Have a look at Extra Credit's videos take on what makes JRPGs JRPGs. Spoiler alert, the geographical position of the dev team has nothing to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_rvM6hubs8
I LOVED the demo! Day 1 for me!
Not sure if I like the art style, but the game looks really solid. I´m sure it will be a blast, one of the best indie games this year.
Oh thank goodness actually.... the beginning of this year is soooo stacked. I can appreciate it launching in July when I'll have more time to play it (I'm a teacher).
It has a wonderful art style and the music was amazing. I thought it was rather endearing. I probably won't be getting it but it seems like a winner of a game.
Awesome! Now I shall continue to wait for even longer for that physical release to get announced.
