Hamster's recently surpassed more than "200 consecutive weeks of delivery" so what's next? The latest game to join its Arcade Archives series is the action game Cosmo Police Galivan.
"Cosmo Police Galivan" is an action game released by Nichibutsu in 1985. Players are transformed into "Galivan" with putting in hand the power crystal, to destroy the universe criminal organization "Aku"."
This game will set you back $7.99 or your regional equivalent. We've also got some screenshots:
Will you be adding this one to your Switch Home Menu? Let us know in the comments.

I just now learned of the existence of this game, and it looks like it could be a fun one. The pixel art is on point... Movement looks a little stiff but it could see myself putting time in. Interesting
Seems like a fun game, may definitely get it soon.
I always forget about Hamster's weekly arcade archive releases. This one looks quite cool, will get it when it releases.
Got waku waku instead. Waits impatiently for Raiden.
This game was a bit naff on the C64. Never played the arcade, but to be honest, I don't have much desire to after that lol.
I’m not paying full price for any of these. It’s not worth it imo. But I am glad we are getting regular arcade games like this.
@Bass_X0 I've had 8 quids worth of gaming out of many of these games lol.
I played this so much on my C64. Not because it was such a great game, but because I paid for it with my own money. I actually wanted to buy Delta, but ZZAP! 64 gave it a mixed review. Regretted the decision after playing Galivan for a few hours.
It's Cosmo Police!!!....Never heard of it
@chickje The best thing about it was the cover art!
Another one that releases without previous announcement (and there is a long list of announced games in queue) but available on PS4 for years.
C'mon, Bubble Bobble and Wonder Boy! I will shut up when they finally come to the Switch too. Almost all the other previously PS4 exclusives have come by now.
Oh wow yet another obscure old 80's game I have never heard of!
@GrailUK Yeah, Bob Wakelin's (RIP) cover suckered me into buying that crappy game.
Went from a run-and-gun in the arcade, to a Metroidvania on the Famicom, to a beat-em-up on the Super Famicom.
@Moroboshi876 Been downloading ACA games lately. Volfied is probably one of the games I want to see most (at least while we're thinking of realistic possibility games). Realizing we could use more late '80s and '90s Taito in general (but I guess Taito would rather sell us expensive collections).
Well, there is that upcoming Capcom compilation to look forward to, I guess. (that I assume is basically a rerelease of Arcade Cabinet for the PS3: one game free as a demo, and then they sell you unlock bundle DLCs for the rest)
@KingMike Taito ninja kidz please
Isn't that Space Sheriff Gavan?
@Slowdive
You're right, the NES version is much better. It's a Metroid clone that has much better gameplay than this mediocre arcade game. The games are in no way alike.
@rushiosan I think it might be a way to make it seem similar to an existing property, without having it actually be licensed. It looks to be a combination of Gavan and Sharivan.
@KingMike Right, I get this is a welcome addition to the Switch library, but I already have Capcom Arcade Cabinet on 360. It's been on sale several times and it's a good value.
It definitely will have its audience on Switch, but I won't be double dipping, although I know it's not exactly the same and some games weren't on that collection. I would reconsider it if it had a physical edition, though.
@rushiosan I was thinking the same....
one of them is a blatantly faking fake.
But which one ?
In France , space sheriff gavan was called X-OR, and was a huge hit...
This looks like a long-lost Atari Lynx game (I mean that as a compliment).
@GrailUK That's good, but I'd find it difficult to find enough content in many 80s arcade games that would make it worth the money to me. I check the offers section every week to see if any are on sale though. 50% off is what the standard price should be for many of them.
@Bass_X0 Different strokes for different folks (I keep an eye on their sales too haha!)
