Bandai Namco has announced a brand new game in the Ben 10 universe for Nintendo Switch. Called Ben 10: Power Trip, it'll launch on 9th October.
The game features an all-new adventure in which Ben must team up with longtime rival Kevin 11 to battle the evil magician Hex. It's being released in partnership with Cartoon Network, publisher Outright Games and development studio PHL Collective.
"Ben 10: Power Trip takes place in the animated universe of Ben Tennyson, where he uses his trusted Omnitrix to transform into different alien creatures and save the world. The game tells a unique story where Ben must uncover the truth behind four mysterious crystals that threaten to take over his world. Players will be able to transform into powerful aliens and work together to battle fearsome foes in this co-op adventure".
Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games, says "Ben 10 is a beloved kids’ franchise and we are beyond excited to again be creating a game with these characters. Our long running partnership with Cartoon Network has allowed us to take big steps forward with this title and create a game that will entertain Ben 10 fans and their families as they play together in this brand-new adventure".
The press release describes the game as a "herotastic co-op open world adventure". Does that sound like your kind of thing? Let us know with a comment below.

Why advertise a co-op adventure and show off only single player emotes? Ugh... At the very least it looks like an alright open world game for young children.
Is this still an active series? I remember when my little brother watched the pilot episode several years ago. Props to them for keeping it alive this long I guess.
I love the idea of this. An open world Ben 10 game would be amazing, and despite looking a bit cheap it looks like it could offer something decent for Ben 10 fans. But seeing Kevin on the promo image makes me think he's player 2, and idk how too feel about that. While I don't think the new Ben 10 series is terrible, one of its worst changes is with Kevin 11. Instead of being a mutated abomonation, or having elemental absorption powers, they instead just gave Kevin his own omnitrix. Which sucks since Kevins original powers were fairly unique and they worked perfectly with both iterations of Kevin 11.
@Broosh The original series canon ended a few years back with Ben an older teenager, and they rebooted it back to him being a kid again. It's... lost a lot of what made it good, like most reboots.
Cool to see networks taking a renewed interest in video games based on licensed cartoon characters again. And not just cheap flash-based games that look like they should be on mobile. Between this, Battle for Bikini Bottom, and the Samurai Jack game, I hope this trend continues.
Still, I'm not expecting much out of this particular game. These licensed games are great when they're quality, but obviously many of them are cash grabs. Do people even like this version of Ben 10? I know Cartoon Network has a knack for rebooting classic shows and making them terrible.
If the gameplay is good, the "cheap" graphics can easily be overlooked. A coop open world game is intriguing.
No one authorized this.
@Not_Soos This reboot is one of the least offensive ones. It doesn't try insulting the fans of the original like TTGO, and it doesn't pull a ton deaf modernization that Powerpuff Girls 2016 did. It tries to be a legitimate reboot of the series, just with a more comedic edge. I wouldn't say its great, but it's by no means offensive. As far as CN reboots go, it's definitely the best one they've attempted.
Also since Accelerate is in this game, that means we technically do have an open world DC's Flash game.
@Broosh Personally the series ended for me when Ben 10 Ultimate Alien ended. I know Ben 10 Omniverse was the true conclusion for the original series but it was an disappointed compared to AF and UA.
@patbacknitro18 That's good to hear. I never really cared for the original series, so I wasn't sure. I've thought about going back and watching it on Hulu, though. I will say I don't like the reboot's art direction, as it looks overly simplified like all the rest.
If this came out about ten years ago I’d be really happy. The reboot is just ok. I only watched a few episodes and realized it is definitely aimed at younger kids and stopped. I did buy four arms through the brawlhalla crossover though.
@Not_Soos Second that! There are definetely some licensed titles that could do with rereleases. From the top of my head there's Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters and Scott Pilgrim.
My son loves Ben 10 and recently started playing Lego games with me co-op so we'll be all over this!!
I always felt they missed a trick with this series. Ben 10, Kevin Levin. Fine. But what about Melvin Twelvin?
Oh my, the game models look bad, but I'll overlook that if the game is actually good. Then again it's the newer Ben 10 and if we learned anything about that reboot, it can sometimes be garbage and sometimes alright. The show is way better than the Powerpuff Girls Reboot and Thundercats Reboot, but not as ironically funny as Teen Titans Go.
@Mrnotultra
Teen Titans Go is brilliant. I took my son to see the film and was almost crying with laughter. I think my favourite bits were saving Krypton with dubstep and killing Aquaman as a baby by dropping the plastic bit from a 6-pack into the water. And Stan Lee's subtle cameos, of course.
@link3710 I was going to say, the art style looks like a large step back from what I remember. Too bad.
@DevlinMandrake oh no, I agree, Teen Titans Go is funny, not as great as some other shows on C.N. like Steven Universe (my opinion), but can still be a good time. I don't like the flash animation, and some episodes aren't good, but every cartoon has their garbage.
@DevlinMandrake I too love Teen Titans Go. This coming from someone who really loved the original series and has a standard for potty humor (which does sound like a bit of an oxymoron, I know). I think it's really smart in it's humor alot of the times (when it's not just trying to strictly be funny). So I appreciate the effort. The movie took it to a whole new level. That bit with erasing the Justice League was fantastic. And the commentary on the constant rebooting of Batman movies was spot on
My kid sometimes watches clips of the new Ben 10 series. It's fun, but it seems it has lost it's sense of madurity that came with the progression of the original series. Still, if this game is fun, I'll get it to play with my kid.
@Broosh its only alive for marketing toys
Is that Kevin with an Omnitrix too? You don't watch I series for over a decade and the world changes.
I'm a little confused because I just realized the trailer was uploaded by Bandai Namco, but they aren't mentioned anywhere in the article. The article does mention Outright Games, though, which is a very worrying sign. They're the same team that developed Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion, which I quit playing after about five hours because the game softlocked on me THREE TIMES! I literally couldn't get past the victory screen of the second boss. And load times last up to TWO MINUTES! Absolutely inexcusable. The game had a lot of promise, though, and if the developers aren't rushed for time, they're probably a talented bunch. But they also made that Scrat's Nutty Adventure game that I hear was pretty mediocre. Weird if they're working alongside Bandai Namco with this one.
My user name.
The only Ben 10 game I've played is Rise of Hex, in my eyes it's a good game, especially if you're into the show. It always bothered me that they removed it from the Wii Shop like a year later. Is the license so expensive, Konami? Try buying this game nowadays, it's impossible.
Curiously I like the Ben 10 series about the same as the Sonic game series.
Genesis games/Ben 10 = like it.
SA1-Sonic 06/Alien Force = love it.
Boost games/Omniverse = meh.
Boom/Current reboot = gross.
And after watching that gameplay video, it's so jarring hearing those new voice actors. XLR8 had such a cool fitting voice, here he sounds like a dork. Hey just like Sonic, I will never get used to Roger's voice.
If the game is sandboxy , and each form can be used in certain areas of the open world , i think it could turn out really well
What are those visuals? And what is that background music? How does this communicate Ben 10 to you, or even what vaguely might be special about the game?
@Not_Soos
I think Namco and Outright previously codeveloped that Paw Patrol game together.
