Speedrunning is a popular pastime with truly dedicated gamers, and is a practice which often requires players to exploit glitches or shortcuts in clever ways. However, there's no such technique to be found in a game like Ring Fit Adventure – but that hasn't stopped a bunch of players from speedrunning it regardless.
Japanese player Sakinyan currently holds the world record for speedrunning the new Switch fitness title; during the record-setting playthrough (conducted on an "intensity" level of 1, the lowest setting), she beat the game's final boss after a staggering 18 hours, 59 seconds. When you consider that Ring Fit Adventure is arguably designed to be played in short, daily bursts, that's quite an achievement.
Sakinyan isn't alone in this endeavour, either; Adam “Ventifer” England lies in second place on the leaderboard with a time of 19 hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds. Meanwhile, Liam “LiamGiiV” Gallagher currently holds records for 10 of the game’s 23 worlds. While the speedrunning community surrounding Ring Fit Adventure is small right now, it's clearly on the up-and-up.
It goes without saying that the stamina and determination to play a game as demanding as this for almost an entire day is off the scale (Sakinyan apparently only visited the bathroom once during the record-breaking run). These players are pushing their bodies to the absolute limit – but even for Sakinyan, there is a definite ceiling.
While her record-breaking run was done on the game's easiest mode, the true gauntlet – and one that will be harder to crack – is finishing the game as fast as possible with the intensity level set to 30. With the setting this high, the physical demands are increased dramatically.
So how did Sakinyan do on level 30? 11 hours and 16 minutes. Nothing to be sniffed at, and certainly better than we could do.

Speedrun
Wow, credit to anyone willing to do this.
Am I reading this wrong? How is the time 11 hours on hard and 18 hours on easy?
Also I am surprised Liam Gallagher is so good at this game
@ralphdibny My guess is that they skipped a lot of fights, though I haven't watched any of these. There are drinks to eliminate monsters while running in a course and you can double-jump over them if you know when and where to expect them. That eliminates a lot of time as you can run right through a course in no time otherwise.
I try to run through all the levels I do but I slow down a ton during fights. I constantly agonize over which move to use for maximum damage.
@Iacobus fair enough, I am not that familiar with the game really, I'd like to get it some day though, if only for the ring con!
This game actually makes a lot of sense to speedrun when you think about it. I just hope people aren't hurting themselves with bad form when they speed through the exercises.
I can guarantee you that if I were to attempt this, I would pass out within 30 minutes
@ralphdibny She had to stop partway through on the hardest difficulty - the linked article said "The fight that eventually does her in is the same fight she’d made it to at seven hours and 18 minutes when the game was set to its easiest difficulty."
I have the fatestet speedrun ever. I turn on the Switch and start Ring Fit then promptly turn it off. Fastest time ever.
@CoastersPaul @ralphdibny I was going to guess that it was the time that she Lasted at the 30 run. But the article doesn’t word it especially well…
@ChessboardMan @CoastersPaul oicccc, makes sense, it did sound like both were complete speed runs and maybe I just assumed that a speed run was traditionally playing the game to the end (no matter how you get there, warp zones etc)
"Sakinyan apparently only visited the bathroom once during the record-breaking run"
Eww, she probably didn't wash her hands, either.
This is the first true e-sport.
Someone needs to hold a ring fit speed running contest, I would pay to see that.
Spoilers !!!!!!!!
For God's sake!!
@ralphdibny @ChessboardMan @CoastersPaul yeah the source says she had to give up at that point. On the easiest difficulty, there would’ve been another 10 hours of it, but at her current pace her time would’ve been over 24 hours and that was just too much. Heck, I’m impressed and feel nauseous just thinking of pushing my body THAT far!
Literally speedrunning a game for hours straight.
Props to them.
Woo man. Whoever tries to speedrun Ring Fit is gonna be sore as Hell.
@ralphdibny yep.. makes no sense. And there is no way you could speed run this at level 30. I’m in good shape and doing it at level 21 and no way could you do it for more than 2 hours without stopping... no way.
Meanwhile I'm about 18 hours in, and on world 6. Great game, it provides a great workout if you prioritize exercises that wear you out instead of going for pure damage.
My man Liam Gallagher back on the ring fit adventure grind.
Is this really surprising? People will speed run almost anything.
If they keep trying to speed run this game they may end up losing all their hair and become so powerful that no one would even come close anymore. Just ask Bald Cape which I believe is his official hero name.
I feel like some professional athlete could totally nail this speedrun
The next WarioWare needs to be something like this.
@Smashfan502 lol I wouldn't have the game to use it on then. Will get it at some point
@Smashfan502
Yes it was a reference to One Punch Man, his awesome power came at the result of some very basic yet consistent training, which also resulted in him losing all his hair.
If people are speed running this game the result could very much be the same. I was in the middle of watching season 2 when I made the comment and now my comment has been over explained. It's a good show /manga though.
@Smashfan502
Well I would suggest at least watching the first season and seeing how you like it. Personally I really enjoyed it, the show is a spoof on super heroes and animes but also is an exciting anime in it's own right. I really wouldn't want to give it away but I remember seeing it on Netflix, reading the description and thinking it sounded stupid, but after watching a few episodes I was hooked. Give it a shot!
