Bandai Namco and Outright Games have revealed that Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure will be haphazardly scrambling onto a Switch near you on 18th October.
The game sees movie franchise favourite Scrat, the painfully clumsy squirrel, embarking on a quest through classic Ice Age locations to recover his cherished acorn. You'll need to help him collect the legendary Crystal Nuts (ahem) to do just that, all while facing off against prehistoric creatures and exploring "adventure-packed" locations.
Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games, has shared the following:
“This is an exciting time for us as we look to expand on one of the biggest properties in kids’ entertainment in a way only video games can. Revealing to the world how fun Scrat’s first solo adventure game is, as well as announcing when you’ll be able to play the game itself, is something we hope will delight Ice Age fans of all ages.”
As noted above, the game will release in most territories on 18th October, although Australia and New Zealand will have to wait until 6th December.
Are you an Ice Age fan? What do you think of the gameplay shown off in the new video? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Looks like a fun game to buy, play for a week, and resell on eBay. Can’t wait.
It doesn't look bad, I suppose...
@justin233 Yes, Worth a quick playthrough...
A lot better than what I expected.
Certainly has some charm to it.
I actually really like the fact we’re getting a brand new licensed 3D platformer in 2019! I don’t think it will sell as well as they might hope, but this looks like it could be a fun little game for kids and adults who love Ice Age
This doesn't look too bad. Getting vibes from the Ice Age 2 game I played on PC years ago from how the gameplay looks. Going to keep an eye on this one.
Looks like something I would've loved as a kid.
I'm confident that this will be good. Just short.
And hell, it's nice to have games that don't demand dozens or hundreds of hours of one's time every now and then.
Looks good, and certainly a heck of a lot better, graphics-wise, than that HD-ified Super Monkey Ball game that everyone is so lyrical about...
Looking pretty good, and it's not some bad movie tie-in. I'm hopeful this will be a good time.
Looks like a game from the 2000’s era of licensed games. Man... I miss that era.
Anyways, this game actually looks pretty decent. Might be a fun game to play.
A 3d licensed platformer..and it's looking legit! Between this and A Hat In Time and Spyro. October is looking plenty good for 3d platformer fans.
It’s nice seeing locations that call back to all the movies.
Wait, this wasn't a late April fools joke?
Ooooo I’m gonna have to have this. I have all the movies.
Looks like it could be a fun borrow from the library but I am concerned about the complete total utter lack of combat in the trailer. I know thats not Scrats style but I'd at least like to see him jump on a big baddies head or snap a small 1 with his tail. Now I'm trying to recall if there was any violence in the Daxter PSP game.
Oh well, could still be good.
@rjejr the screenshots show him going kung-fu against some crabs
The animations are pretty bad, especially for a game based on an animated movie, but the gameplay looks solid.
@StableInvadeel Thanks. I didn't zoom in on it so to me it just looked like he was pulling his feet away trying not to get pinched. They should have put some of that action into the vid.
@justin233 Sweet! I’ll buy your used copy.
Ice Age hasn't died yet? Seriously?
Hard pass - but have fun if you like it.
