Reminder: Luigi's Original Spooky Adventure Arrives On 3DS This Month

I never played this on GCN. It may be the first 3ds game I buy since Samus Returns.

Many happy memories of busting ghosts on the GC, it's a shame the Switch can't get the first two games ported over before LM3 comes out.

I will consider the prequel due to Biff the Ghost Bodybuilder.
Not day one, but i will buy it on next year.

Got it pre-ordered and happy to add it to my collection of games on the 3DS. I'm sure it will only take a few hours to beat.

This is a nice treat before Luigi's Mansion 3 comes to Switch next year. I'm guessing that will launch as a fall game, too.

Meh. I'll take Gamecube games on the Switch though...

@justin233 I never owned a GC so it's nice to play the games in some form. I just don't think Nintendo has given any indication that GC games are coming to Switch.

Fun fact: the original gameCube version still retain code to make use of an unreleased 3D display attachment.
So this 3DS port restore an unused feature.

Mine been pre-order. Play the gc version but sadly never finish. What i play though was fun as heck. I am glad i got this on 3ds because i sure miss it.
It will definitely hold me until etrian odyssey nexus 3ds and yokai watch 3 come out in Feb. Then it Yoshi Crafted World.

I'm not sure 2p and a boss rush will push me over. The game is pretty short as it is, I'd rather just play the GameCube version I already have. Maybe there will be some more cool features we just don't know about.

I'd rather have Pikmin or Viewtiful Joe from GC. LM2 has 6 mansions, this one has only 1 mansion.

Since I still have the original GC version and my GameCube and Wii to play it and the game its way to short i won't get it unless i find it extremely cheap

@GKO900 1st party and "cheap" don't come together when it comes to nintendo.

I'd have preferred for the first two to be released as an HD bundle on the Switch, but either way this'll be the first 3DS title I pick up since Samus Returns as well, and if it's the last one I get (considering the M&L: BIS remake), it's a good one to wrap it up on.

Careful Nintendo, now it's on its third gAme fans will be wanting a bloody timeline and story.

I would have pre-ordered this already but Amazon stopped offering Prime discounts... so it's gonna have to wait indefinitely.

Buying a couple of copies, one for me and one for my nephew. MP should be fun to play through.

I've never played the original, but loved the sequel on 3DS. So I'll definitely get this. Maybe ask for it for Christmas.

I'm so excited to have this game on my favorite handheld! The original is still my favorite GameCube game next to Melee. Dark Moon is great, but this game nails its atmosphere much better. I've always loved the silence in lit up rooms as Luigi whistles the theme, or how he nervously hums it (along with the ghosts) in dark rooms!

I don't think I've been this excited since Samus Returns...and it's not even a new release!

Or I could just wait a year until Luigi's Mansion 3 because it will probably release in September or October 2019.

Maybe this is the plan all along: spend the next 4 years rereleasing every GameCube game as a 3DS title.

Imagine if they released Wind Waker and Metroid Prime 😳

@Retupmocnin But the difference is LM2 is mission based, which is why there are multiple mansions

LM1 is non linear and the single mansion is much larger than any of the more condensed mansions in Dark Moon, for the purpose of exploration

As someone who has never played any Luigi's Mansion game, I def want to try this out!

I remember playing this at my friend's house when he got a GameCube. I never bought a copy myself when I got the system though but I remember loving what I played of the game. And of course, Dark Moon on 3DS was a great game (both single and multiplayer)! I just wish this was getting re-released on Switch because the graphics in that trailer have definitely taken a hit being moved to 3DS. That and I don't really play my 3DS much anymore, not even for Pokémon. I'll still probably get this but I may hold off until it receives a 30% off deal on My Nintendo, I have too many games to play right now.

@Giygas_95 I agree, it's a short game but it nailed it. 2 is a very good game, but 1 has a better structure and atmosphere.

The thing that 3DS can do for this game is "restore" the 3D feature.

@BlueOcean I really have no issue with a short game if it's really fun. Sometimes I prefer that over a long game. Short games are often more replayable to me too.

@Giygas_95 Yes, you are right. You can easily follow the story, get immersed in the mansion and the game is very replayable. I would like a few more rooms/gardens in the 3DS version, like the expanded and remade version of Resident Evil on GameCube, but I'll take it as it is anyway. Visuals, sound and atmosphere are great.

I wonder if it will be playable on the regular 3DS...
I love my 3DS XL & the "New 3DS" just didn't bring enough to the table to warrant me selling mine for the newer model
