Nintendo has revealed that a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct broadcast will take place this Wednesday at 7AM PT / 10AM ET / 4PM CEST / 3PM BST.
The livestream will be presented by none other than director Masahiro Sakurai, and will contain new information on the upcoming Nintendo Switch release.
As you might expect, we'll be live-blogging the whole thing, so be sure to check back on Wednesday to watch it. In the meantime, let us know what you think will be revealed by posting a comment below.

Bluh really more smash news how other games besides smash.....
Why do we need another direct dedicated to smash....at this moment in time surely they should switch focus to other upcoming titles.
Oh boy oh boy.
Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen.
Subspace Emissary and I'll lick your boots Mr. Sakurai sir
Over/under on the number of complaints about E3 followed by this?
jesus lord, gtfo out of here with smash news. we got enough of it at their dedicated smash e3. show us something else. like, i'm excited for smash but enough is enough - those who are going to buy it are going to buy it regardless of how many directs you show and new content you show.
give us something else already
I would like to see what kind of modes the game has to offer.
Waluigi first DLC!
My prediction: One new character. Maybe somebody from ARMS. And some other smaller nuggets, like a new stage or skins.
Probably the new arenas, new itens, a new mode and a new character (at least one), I hope.
I wonder if we'll get more echo characters.
Smash Brothers rules and more news is always welcome.
Apparently this is a dissenting voice.
Don't get angry because sakurai is blessing us with new information it's not a Nintendo direct it's has nothing to d9 with n direct it's his game don't like seeing m9re of it don't watch it
Hopefully this actually tells us stuff about the single player modes. Otherwise, I don't really care.
why are people upset about more smash news? it's nintendo's biggest game this year, if not their biggest game on the switch from now on, it makes sense that they'd want to hype it up
Just to say that this doesn't mean we won't get another direct about other games soon(ish), and more news about the biggest Switch game this year can't be a bad thing. I doubt they'll spend most of the time giving us patch notes like some of E3, it'll likely just be new announcements like new characters and modes, nothing to complain about really!
Awesome. Fingers crossed for some new characters and info on the single player.
Not everyone loves Smash, please have something else for me to look forward to besides Pokémon Nintendo!
Is there anything left to reveal? Wasn't most of E3 devoted to Smash?
#prayforsnakesbutt
This comment section is now a WISH LIST of characters you want in Smash but won't be announced! GO
@PanurgeJr If they announce at least 3 characters that are from Non-Nintendo franchises then lower. Or Waluigi of course.
Never expected to pull off a Smash Bros. direct, even though 25-minutes of E3-direct was about smash. Hope they reveal a proper single-player mode.
I’m kind of a new Nintendo fan, does this mean it will be the only game featured in the direct?
Smash Direct begins
Sakurai: "We announced everything already. Never ask me for anything again."
Smash Direct closes
Rather have a normal direct. Saw too much smash already at e3
@PanurgeJr - Needs to be a number enticing to both sides. With that being said, over/under 385 complaints with +120 on the under to entice some action because it’s definitely going over.
Fantastic! Been mostly wondering about the modes outside of standard and 8-player smash. Also, to anyone wondering "do we really need more smash information," yes, yes we do. We know very little about the game outside of the new mechanics and engine, a bunch of returning content, and few new characters and stages. There is a ton more that we should know before the game comes out. There's also nothing saying that if we didn't get thisdirect, we'd get info on another game. Being mad about this direct is just petty and nonsensical.
What could they possibly be introducing / showcasing that needs a spotlight? Game modes? Maybe they will announce a Mario Tennis beta Tournament (that seemed to serve them well.) to break in the online service. Excited! (But can't help noticing some folk think they will re-tread stuff. People thought they were showing too much Mario Odyssey, but still surprised everyone with Cappy etc.)
Honestly, they would have been best to have a direct aimed at other content coming out soon(ish) this year or early next - with all of the conversation that Nintendo didn't show much at E3 and it was too smash focused this makes little sense. Release this closer to the release date of the game or at least after a direct showing off some other stuff
I don't give a sh1t about Smash. Too much spotlight on this game. Too many poor Indie games. Come on Nintendo, 2018 needs some killer titles.
New stages and players!!!
@BranJ0 Your avatar made me wish for Phoenix Wright for a playable character. Never going to happen though.
Rayman please.
@Syrek24 THANK YOU. this is all correct. e3 touched on main idea of it being the "ultimate" smash but didn't really show any of the content that makes it a full game
@Syrek24 lmao you need a life if you are getting this serious/defensive about someone's comments.
Maybe nintendo should have had a more focused direct during E3 highlighting the things you mention instead of 20+ minutes on focusing on every character.
I'm not one to complain when we get ANY sort of direct news from the big N, but wouldn't it have been wiser to have a Smash-focused Direct closer to its December release date?
Eh, as long as there's a Direct within the next couple of months on the other games that are coming, I'm okay with this.
I'm really hoping for some kind of solid single player mode. This is one of the major reasons I love Brawl so much. Hell, I'd even take a remastered Subspace Emissary from Brawl, just throw in some new story stages based around the new characters (Mega Man, Splatoon, Bayonetta, etc.) and I'd be a happy camper. I dumped so much time into that mode and loved every minute of it. I was pretty upset when Sakurai decided to get away from it because he was miffed about people uploading the cinemas to YouTube. Honestly, this would be a launch day make or break for me as I didn't play the Wii U/3DS version that much due to the lack of any substantial single player mode. I know that's odd considering the series nature but Brawl (and even Melee) kept me coming back for the single player stuff.
@Tyranexx exactly. poor timing imo.
LOOK. I am as excited as the next guy about Ultimate. I'm hyped outta my own ass. But come on Nintendo.... more Smash? Eh, who cares man I'll watch it anyway and be super hyped, but I kinda want some more info to actually explain things like the online service, and maybe a roadmap for the future of Switch releases and WHERE the 3ds is ACTUALLY going at this point. Not mad, just a little confused as to why they wouldn't want to show a little more of what they are offering down the road.
Uh oh...
I foresee both Smasheads going nuts and general Nintendo fans going nuts, but for entirely different reasons.
Regardless, while I would rather a general direct, to help fill out the fall line-up, this Smash direct is not the cause for a lackthereof. If they weren't doing this Smash direct, that doesn't necessarily mean they would've done a regular direct. For all we know, they still might have one planned. If they don't, this doesn't change anything.
If anything, this means that if there IS a regular direct, it won't be bogged down in Smash content, like the E3 direct. If we're lucky, this might be why Samurai chose to do this. If we're unlucky, Nintendo doesn't have an amazing fall line-up to reveal anyway. Either way, don't blame Sakurai, at the very least.
Personally, I'm of the mind that it's good to have SOME Switch news to muse over. But then again, I still have a backlog to churn through and a wide range of games to get still. So I guess I'm not as thirsty as other fans right now.
@Mqblank Trust me, I've been waiting for a playable Phoenix Wright for an absolute lifetime, but I'd be very happy to compromise with Professor Layton or Shovel Knight. Unfortunately, I'm 99% sure we're never gonna get any of them 😭
@SimplyCinnamon53 Yes. That's how it's always been in the past, anyways.
All i want is King K in this game. Is that too much to ask?
I said earlier today to some friends that there’d be a Direct soon. I was right. Y’all are welcome.
i wonder what people would react if it was a regular direct and it was e3 2018 all over again.
If they reveal that they're bringing back the Subspace Mode, I'll call this the best Smash. ... But at this point, I'm expect a 20 minute Direct on the clo- 'echo fighters' like Daisy.
#ShantaeForSmash or I'm gonna eat the pizza flavour I hate the most.
...Anchovy pizza. And I will absolutely, 100% (maybe) record it. >~>
impa (especially the skyward sword one) would be an awesome Sheik echo fighter
@kevin74 Ok, thanks
Hopefully we get some decent modes. Especially single player. And hopefully new fighters?
Wow excited to learn more! 😃
Didn’t they already do a “Smash Bros Direct” at E3?
December can’t come soon enough
Looking forward to it actually. I wanna see what new characters and stages they might throw at us. And hopefully a better online experience where you don’t get trapped in Taught Party matches.
@boop22 Impa would be neat, but I imagine that the existence of 3 Links, Zelda, Sheik, and Ganandorf hurts her chances a bit.
Good to see I’m not the only one who thought we’d already had one of these.
I’ll pass thanks.
@Damo You had me at Live blogging. Will the chat be opened for this, as well?
I’m hoping that ‘new information’ translates to ‘game modes’.
Buy Ashley. Sell “Everyone + Inkling + Ridley + Daisy=Final Roster”.
Can we have Chrom now?
If you guys don't want more Smash then don't watch it. Also, Rex and Pyra for Smash!!
Didn't we get that at E3? I'm sorry but even though I like Smash this has little interest for me, yes I'd like to know what modes it has but they can just stick that on the website, not to mention I basically already own the game 3 times over.
How about a direct to show us what other games Nintendo are making
I'm going to start a new job tomorrow and fortunately,Wednesday isn't one of my scheduled days. Life is good.
It better be a short but intense direct,I don't want to hear about things like the slight changes of WFT's face.
Oh yes, please confirm storymode!
If you confirm that i shave my head bald! Hahah.
And... I still want Rayman for a playable character.
i predict more echo fighters
1.shadow very close to sonic move set then other sonic charhers and with knuckles as an asistan thophy and big fan base it is very likey
2.Alm and ceilca we know one or both of these are coming they be easy to match ceilca could go to robin and alm on to Ike or roy or they might do a dual on this one.
3.descedeye we got to have a gen 7 pokemon rep. and this would be a easy copy from pokken and z-move as the final smash.
4.Rayman i do not think this one is going to happen.
5.xenoblade x or 2 is likely rep is likely
6.chrom due to i think in the trailier for smash 4 it said next time maybe that was a hint.
7.gunvolt or shvoel knight maybe
i do think we will get some new stages in this game and a maybe a story mode
@hippoeater Just press the ignore button and get on with life. It is not worth the stress.
@Orin41
Totally agree with you I’m getting burnt out, having all the focus on smash.
@The-Chosen-one It would be more of a missed opportunity than the time Blockbuster was offered to buy Netflix in its early days if Sakurai doesn't make a story mode that has Cloud,Ryu,Pac-Man,Sonic,and of course Mario meeting each other to take down a threat as a team.
This is just a whole lot of meh for me.
Do we actually need more info about Smash Bros after the almost 30 minutes from E3? Specially a full Direct dedicated to it?
I want to see what Nintendo has planned for the rest of the year besides Smash Bros., but it appears they’ve got nothing beyond that as much as they keep saying that the full lineup for the rest of the year haven’t been revealed yet.
It’s be great if I were a Smash fan, but this is the Nintendo IP I care the least about, so the later half of 2018 is totally barren of new (Nintendo) games for me.
lame, even as a smash player this is kinda lame.
i just want dark souls remastered release date.
which reminds me, how come we got the beta info for fighterz before dark souls?
This will probably be the games modes, a new character, and prob another new echo. Heck for all we know the new character reveal could tie into a new game releasing soon. Super hyped to see the new and returning modes though!
My wants:
o Some story or adventure mode to keep my busy. It doesn't need to be as big as Subspace Emmisary but I'd like some single-player mode with progression and more depth.
o A ton of new event missions to play through.
o Confirmation of stable online battles.
o Isabelle introduced as a new character, leading into the surprise announcement of Animal Crossing for Switch to release Spring of next year... yeah, that's a bit of a stretch!
@hippoeater
I need more info on the wii fit trainer's face
Really insane !
How can we have any kind of surprises still ?
E3 revealed so much already that it was almost boring...
And now, you're gonna tell me that they want to reveal even more ?
Don't they think that MAYBE it could be a great idea to let the players discover some stuffs by themselves rather than spoil everything in advance ?
I think people are more interested to have some new game announcements in a "real" Nintendo Direct than a video full of spoilers about SmashBros...
The last time Nintendo went this big with promotion was BotW. I know Smash is big, but it doesn't seem like the same kind of reinventing of the series that Zelda was. Maybe they really are trying to get it pushed as a serious esport. Okay, then.
Still another Direct feels like an interesting strategy considering the criticism of not announcing other stuff that they still claim they have in the works.
Well, I'm not fussed about Smash, but I'll watch it anyway to see if there's anything else mentioned. Plus, I still see Smash as a game created with precision and passion, even if it's so not for me.
Well, guys, this time they are telling everyone in advance that it's a Smash Direct. Let's see what the good news is
Yeah, just what we want Nintendo:(. You could have revealed information about the Online service, but we get a Nintendo Direct all about Smash Bros.
Oh yeah, like we didn't have enough Smash Bros during the E3 ND...
Well, I won't even watch this one. I know what Smash Bros is, especially for a best of edition, and I can wait december to just play it.
I expect to see at least one new character and one new echo fighter (i.e. Octoling as an Inkling echo)
I also expect to see some kind of "Smash Bros Ultimate Global Test Fight" to launch alongside the online service in September, similar to how Splatoon 2/Arms had Test Fires/Test Punches respectively before their actual releases.
I love the idea of a Smash Direct. True we've seen a lot, but they said there is much more. And that's why there is this direct. I hope for some awesome new characters and some single player game modes.
And for everyone "I want a normal Direct", just wait until next month. I think there will be a Direct at the launch of the Nintendo Online Service.
Smash is my favorite franchise and even I’m a little tired of hearing about it already.
Unless the news is Dixie Kong or King K. Rool, I’m not that excited.
@Rafke YES!!!
Unless Smash Bros is just a cover and Nintendo are going to announce some new stuff for the year, then Nintendo have lost the plot.
We are in August, only really diehard Smash fans care about an old port being released for Christmas when they have the rest of the year to live their lives and won't wish it away for something they could play on the Wii u now without the face lift.
The question Nintendo need to answer is, what games are you expecting Switch owners to buy if they are not going to buy Smash Bros at Christmas?
Hoping for a demo following the Direct, but it seems that won't likely happen. Still I can hope. But I'd also love to see some talk on any other games coming this Fall. Smash with a few GC controllers and the new amiibo will be a day one purchase for me.
Is there anything left unsaid?
@zool That is easy: Pokémon.
Nintendo never releases more than one major title per month. With Smash being the december spot and Pokémon being the November spot. Maybe we'll get some DLC for a different game. Maybe a remake / port of a lesser game.
But don't expect a big AAA-Nintendo title at the end of the year besides Smash and Pokémon.
It's insane to see people apparently hate Smash now (I'm not even referring about this site, the hate is all over the place).
@Big_Ounce People all want "more games" and they want Nintendo to release one big AAA game each week or they think the system is DOOOOMED. (I disagree here for 100%)
I actually LOVE Smash Ultimate, it looks like the best Smash game ever and I can't wait to get more info on it and I'm already counting the days until it's release.
How can people complain about a direct?
It is better than giving us no direct or letting us wait until september!
@Big_Ounce lol i have no idea where you've been looking pal, the announcement seems to be overall pretty well recieved
Give me the Brawl Assist Trophies! I really want Drill Dozer and Custom Robo back in the game. Also boss battles and the Coin Launcher. I'd love those.
Among player characters, I'll cast a wide net: Shantae, K. Rool, Tora & Poppi, Dr. Coyle, Banjo & Kazooie, Ashley, Tetra, Gandrayda, Viridi, Lip, and Sharena. Maybe one of those will pop up.
I'm not interested at all with Smash Bros.
I do really hope Nintendo has prepared the Direct that focused on other Switch games & Paid Online Service.
Still so many games that still unfolded.
(AOV, Hyper Sports R, Fit Boxing, Neko Tomo, Sumikko Gurashi, My Time at Portia, LABO Toy Con 03, Yokai Watch 4, PAW Patrol, Nickelodeon Kart, 99 Vidas, Re:Legend, Carnival Games, Sports Party, etc)
@boop22 Look here, YouTube, IGN, Smashboards even, or wherever else. People are complaining about the same thing: "WE WANT EVERY OTHER GAME EXCEPT SMASH!". Obviously there are a lot of people excited for the game.
Come on guys, Sakurai puts his health on the line to ensure each entry is packed with features that'll last way over 250 hours for competitionists or those playing for years. Even if you hate the series, you have to respect the dedication he puts into the games much like how Nintendo sees it and thus promote his games heavily.
And yeah, it might be true Nintendo pretty much has this and Pokemon as their big hitters for year's end but its not like the 3rd parties and indies arnt pulling their weight with the Switch lately. And if that's still not enough, then maybe YOU the gamer needs to explore more gaming interests or interests outside of Nintendo or even gaming.
I’ll never give up on wishing for you, Professor Layton. My heart will go on. Speaking of which, this upcoming Direct reminds me of puzzle! It’s about E3 and time management.
Not surprised to see this pop up at all. Based on those estimated system sales Nintendo really need this to hit big. Hyping it up as much as they can makes sense. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some kind of pre Pokemon thing as well at some point. Personally I don’t really care for either game but I have more than enough to get on with plus spider man will be out around then as well.
@hippoeater They don't have anything else to show, that's why we're getting another Smash direct. Let's face it, Switch is quickly becoming a one year wonder.
Yea. I need to find out more about marios eye brows.
Im not sure if I'll tune in. I already know what Smash is and what this game will sorta turn out like, so I know I'll buy it regardless. If it genuinely is something new, I dont mind catching the news of it afterwards.
They already dedicated 3/4 of their E3 Direct to Smash, why do we need another 🙄
People are seriously whining about this? This is virtually the only Real News we've gotten about anything since E3, which was very lackluster (and I say this as a big fan of Super Smash Bros). They revealed hardly any new content, instead focusing on small tweaks like Olimar's helmet cracking, and they were unable to persuade me that the game (or the console, by extension) is worth buying. Many people even labelled the game as a port, with no supporting evidence and against official statements from Nintendo. The true cynics will probably never change their minds no matter how much new content the game has. But I'm now more optimistic than ever that they'll make me hit that preorder button this week, hopefully confirming my guy as playable (this would be the perfect time to do it) and revealing some interesting single-player modes.
And of course Smash is going to get way more attention than other games. It's their only E ticket game announced for 2018, and likely the only one that comes out in 2018. It sells systems and serves as advertising for all of Nintendo's franchises, even those that usually don't get their time in the spotlight (Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem being prime examples). We all should want it to do well, and the best way to do that is to keep it in the news with regular content reveals.
tl;dr - Don't like, don't watch!
YES everyone else here is saying no smash if you hate smash just don’t tune in and forget about it
@bimmy-lee I'm definitely taking the over.
I'm excited for this Direct, but I'm also a huge Smash fan. My excitement doesn't excuse Nintendo's poor decision to run another Direct exclusively focused on Smash, though.
A Smash direct? Really? We saw enough of that game at E3, no need for more footage or info until release itself.
If they feel the need to have this 5 months before launch, they usually have them a month before, then they must have something big they want to announce before it leaks.
Possibilities -
amiibo cards for every character, maybe in blind 5 packs
Story mode, preferably with multiplayer couch co-op
Online beta test soon, maybe 1 a month for 4 months
Also I'm concerned that while they said the game will have every character every made they never specifically said at release, so the game could release with 16 or 24 characters then 2 a week for months, drawn out like Splatoon and ARMS.
So they could still have some big announcements they want to get out before they leak.
@Sakura Super Smash Bros. has outsold Zelda every time they've had both games on the same system, with the exception of Ocarina of Time on the N64 (which, according to general consensus, was an above average Zelda game). Of course it's going to get the same level of promotion.
@Anti-Matter Couldn't agree more...
I need info on single player.
That's all I care about. And it will make or break whether this direct is exciting for me
More Smash? UGH. Where's that regular Direct for the rest of 2018?
Yuck, Overkill. God Nintendo wake the blank up.
Nintendo is doubling down on Smash Bros in a hard way! E3 was basically a SSB Direct and now there is another one two months later? This is undesirable for most fans. There needs to be more information on other games and new announcements. I really hope we get an Autumn Direct.
@aromain150 I don't think it's the timing, I think it's the content. People, myself included, are looking for news about other games instead of a second Direct focused on SSB. E3 was a Smash love fest and now another one comes. If you aren't a big Smash fan, Nintendo hasn't given you much in months.
Looks like I’ll be taking the day off.
@Big_Ounce I don’t think it has anything to do with hate. I don’t care about Smash in the least but I don’t hate it and I don’t hate Nintendo giving more info about the game.
But people are disappointed because, as of late, there is nothing but Smash, Smash and more Smash.
We want to know if there is actually something for the rest of the year besides Smash and Pokémon.
So, instead of yet another dedicated Direct for Smash, they could have make a general Direct showing what they’ve got for the rest of year and give Smash some minutes in that Direct.
Obviously, that this Direct is focused on Smash doesn’t mean that we won’t get another Direct down the line, but knowing nothing besides Smash is disappointing.
So, it’s not hate, just disappointment.
I'm sure the Direct will be very good but given how Smash focused E3 was, I wish this was a general Direct instead. There's not much going on with the Switch front between August and Smash. While I have more than enough between backlog and the Torna DLC, having more announcements would've been nice.
I don't know if it was just me but at E3, Sakurai was like we hope you appreciate the effort we put in (although there's nothing new). And now another Direct. It's like they are not even confident about it and keep begging
Story mode! Did someone said that already, lots of comments to keep track.
@ShadowWarrior eggsactly... So much of it was shown at E3 and I'll be honest I got bored, I'm not all that hyped for this game and if it doesn't have a story I defo won't be hyped ... I'm only interested for Ridley ... Show some other games aswell not just smash
I am set for the year on Nintendo games, but geez, come on. What about online play? What about the $20 dollar service? Throw us a bone at least on Metroid. Smash again. What the........764476tijiyjh2@.
@Big_Ounce oh god the IGN comment section is a total crapshoot, you were right about that. people are ruthless there.
Well, here's hoping they have something GENUINELY new to show for the game rather than just the Wii U title with a few minor adjustments and a couple of extra characters. . . .
So glad I am not 1 console 1 brand kind of person. Not into Smash, not going to be bother, but when it is done ( like after it release ) hopefully there will not be another direct or e3 70% + whole hour of Treehouse dedication for their DLC and what not.
Chi-Chi Robo or no buy.
Gal-Gun 2 or no buy.
They pulled the same crap with Zelda prior to release; they beat that horse to death.
How about you guys do a Direct showing the online service a bit more, along with any new feature? These people sure know how to make something overstay its welcome.
I hope they dont spend the whole livestream reading a changelog again. "This character looks a bit different now! And look, this character makes two different grunts when you hit him!" That was embarrassing.
@Mew Smash is really not Nintendo's biggest game on the Switch. Maybe the biggest game this year but in terms of importance, I'd give that to Octopath or DB FightersZ (third party game that will very likely win a goty for best fighting game) this year.
@Euler lol dude Smash doesn't sell systems, it sells well to people who own said system but you just need to look in the comments section/Nintendo section in every gaming forum on the internet to know it doesn't sell systems just from the sheer volume of mixed response this has and thats mainly from Nintendo fans. Everyone else just doesn't seem to care enough.
Smash is fun but it's nothing new. Nintendo fans will love it but it won't attract anyone outside of that, the reason for the hate is just this though.
People want to see more diverse games, different ips and better 3rd party support.
I mean if this direct announced a GTA V & Red Dead Redemption remake for, then people would be more hyped.
If they announced a whole new exclusive IP by a 3rd party that would be even better.
Instead its just more of the same... People seem to be looking for more... But then again you cant please everyone
More Smash...
Why not give us something else.
Didnt they say they have unanounced games for fall? Just a lie to cover up the bad E3 and make us forget about it?...
To be totally honest i actually expect DB FightersZ to be better, the game is up for all sorts of GOTY awards this year,if the port is good then I'm probably going to invest in that first.
Especially as its 3rd party.
It's Super Smash Bros... It's gonna sell. I wish Nintendo would give some love to some other titles. I'd love a direct highlighting some of the "lesser" 3rd party titles coming to Switch this year. Games like Valkaria Chronicles (and VC4) Disgaea 1 Complete, Wargroove, Steins; Gate Elite, and The World Ends with You. Just to name a few.
Pretty excited! I bet they will announce single player modes, and new characters (I bet more echo fighters which is GREAT!) EXCITED
I hope they do a Direct for Mario Party as well!
@zool "only really diehard Smash fans care about an old port being released for Christmas"
That's crazy, I had no idea. Which port are they putting on the Switch, there's the new game coming out in December, but, that's the first anyone has ever mentioned of there being a port also. I know the Melee players would go nuts if they put Melee on there, but, it kind of sucks if they don't update it to add online.
@WaveBoy I've been saying this for years, Smash kind of reached its peak with melee, there's just nothing else you could do with it.
I could see ARMS replacing Smash as Nintendo's main fighting ip in the future if they work on it.
Announcing more Ultimate info...probably a good distraction from the drama in the last 24 hours at Evo... >.>
Once Smash Ultimate comes out, I probably won't play any other game unless a new Animal Crossing game comes out. Even then i'd still split my time equally with the two. I <3 Smash.
@Obitokamui64 why not go the extra mile and put WFT’s face as a new character? 😂
@hippoeater well if they show something like subspace emissary then it will be completely acceptable as a direct, besides they might show a surprise.
As someone who only likes a bit of Smash Bros. casually and who thinks the Pokemon Let's Go games look like the worst thing to ever exist in this world, I'm a little bummed that I have no exciting first party games to look forward to this year (as opposed to last year which was full of them). But at least the indies have still kept me happy.
@clvr
It would need to be a very original move set....lol
@BenAV
I wonder if next year will be better. I hope the Yoshi game isn't the major release.
@Obitokamui64 Well as far as we know, next year we have at least Fire Emblem, Yoshi, Bayonetta 3, Pokémon and Metroid. I'm not interested in Pokémon personally but that's a pretty decent line up I'd say.
I’ll taaaaake...Waluigi for 400 please.
@Nintendo_Thumb Consider yourself lucky. In these forums you’ll find no shortage of people insisting that it’s a port, with no real evidence (other than “they did it with Mario Kart” and “not enough development time”, which is wrong). It seems they made their minds up a long time ago (before the game was even announced).
Woohoo! Hopefully should be at least one new character or echo. Glad they are doing this as it means they can dedicate their time to smash with this and people won't complain so much about the next direct having too much smash.
@Razer Anecdotally speaking, my decision to buy a Switch this year (and overall) is heavily contingent on what this game has to offer me. But seriously, you’re going by comments sections on neckbeard sites to judge whether a game will sell systems? It’s common knowledge that negative people tend to be the loudest. There’s a reason why on Twitter, you generally don’t want the replies:likes ratio on a tweet to be high. If they made E3 and the first post-E3 direct all about any other E ticket game (be it Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, or Pokémon) people would still whine about it. That doesn’t mean those games aren’t system sellers.
Simple thought experiment: suppose Sakurai announces on Wednesday that the game is cancelled and they’re never making another one ever again. Do you expect this to have only a negligible effect on Switch sales in 2018 and over its lifespan? I don’t.
Yawn. Could not care less about Smash. Dont worry, i wont be watching. Was there really a need for a Smash Direct right now? The game isnt out for nearly 4 more months. A Smash Direct would have been better a bit closer to release, no? Mid September, maybe?
I would much rather have a regular Direct focused on other games and the new Switch Online. Dark Souls Remastered release date?
I guess the E3 direct wasn't enough. This better had the stuffs I want like a true Adventure Mode and more unique characters from other franchise like K. Rool, Isaac, Takamaru, Krystal, and such.
@retro_player_22 Takamaru and Fox McCloud’s ex have already been deconfirmed. I highly doubt that they’ll have another direct filled completely with boring stuff (though you can never be too sure).
@Syrek24 A legend of truth.
This community is getting as toxic as IGN.
@OorWullie
Yeah but I'm not convinced that metroid or Pokémon is a definite for next. I would expect a main line Pokémon game to look better than the ones coming this year.
@SharkAttackU they done it before

All I want is Crash and Spyro in Smash.
@maruse Good to see people like you exist. "Not hating, but disappointed"....unlike people I've seen on other sites and even real life who now completely hate Smash.
Shovel Knight!
Hollow Knight!
Rayman!
K. Rool!
Viewtiful Joe!
I hope there are no ARMS characters announced ever because ARMS is borIng.
I still want Waluigi even if he will most likely not coming
I want a confirmation for Dark Samus as an echo fighter tho
I'm hoping for a return of solid single player options like adventure mode and a more traditional classic as the single player for Wii u was really bad and all star mode is way too tedious to play through now given the large roster.
I'm hoping for a major surprise or two given they spent so much time during e3 talking about it I'm hoping they have more to show instead of "Roy's hair now has more texture than ever before."
The big sticking point to me is online as not being able to play stock matches with randoms and no voice chat options bugs me. The netcode on smash has always been rather mediocre if I'm being kind so I'm hoping for a big upgrade on that front.
I’m depressed by all the complaints about this. If you don’t want it then don’t watch it.
Cool! I bet we see at least one new fighter.
The quicker SSB gets released the better because frankly the coverage this game has received is madness. When buying the switch I thought by now there would have a bigger selection of first party games. I'm still optimistic about the future though with hopefully a Pikmin or even a new Chibi robo game but we all can dream. As for SSB give it a rest please.
A rumour said a smaller Direct would take place at the beginning of August and that a heavier one comes in about 2 weeks.
Let’s see... I want Chrom, Dark Samus, and I wish Alph was an Echo Fighter and not just a costume for Olimar.
Surely all the meaty single player goodness? A straight copy of the Melee dungeon mode would be most welcome.
STORY MODE STORY MODE STORY MODE
I think the mere fact that some people still consider this game a port is evidence that they have not shown enough of this game yet. I definitely think they need to push it more and show more unique features.
I'm hoping we'll get a look at the modes and that we get a new off-the-wall character that no one asked for in the vein of Wii-Fit Trainer, Pichu, Duck Hunt etc.
And if I get to dream they'll announce a new story mode.
As someone who is not really a fan of Smash, and who came out of E3 feeling rather disappointed with how the presentation ended up being 70% Smash, another dedicated Direct seems more than pointless. They already wet into extremely minute detail in the E3 event - what more is there to talk about?
The former president confirmed that they have not revealed the full lineup for Q4 2018 yet - so why not do a Direct focused on that, or even upcoming Nindies? I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m pretty sure that would appease a much wider audience compared to a Smash-only broadcast.
@NIN10DOXD I'd bet a lot of people wont be. But trust me, that never stops the complaints. What confuses me more are the people who don't like it, but will watch it anyway... like, why?
@iluvwaynesworld But we can't get Spyro unless they announce the Reignited Trilogy for Switch in a full Direct!
@NIN10DOXD People are complaining because about two months ago we had E3 - the biggest gaming event of the year and Nintendo almost entirely focused on Smash. Two months later, people are hoping for a Direct aith some new, exciting games and what do we get? Another 30 minutes of Smash information!
@Matthew010 I'm hoping they'll announce that too
For the wining babies. Please don't watch the direct. Grab a tissue and wipe away those tears.
Don’t we have enough details about this game?
Whine whine whine...
@Euler you got your Nintendo Switch for Smash but i sure as hell didn't. I know many that didn't as well.
If you want my honest opinion. Nintendo made a mistake with the Smash franchise, they made one of the best fighting games ever, they released that in 2001 on the GameCube. Since then they have not been able to really do anything with the games, their mistake was making it as good as that so early on.
So yeah in all honesty... I do think the effect would be negligible, i don't expect it would effect the sales because quite frankly i dont think it's a good game anymore, or rather it's not a stand out fighting game anymore. That is my opinion but im not alone in that and if Nintendo fans are saying that, what can we expect from those who don't follow Nintendo as closely?
Smash Bro's Melee would sell systems, but that came and went 3 systems ago, the game since then just hasn't had nearly as much success or change for it to be considered a system selling game.
Maybe Ultimate will actually deliver though, maybe it will turn into a system seller, i hope it does, but it isn't going to be right out of the gate, i for one wont even think about getting it till i know enough about it.
However much I DO love smash,
The previous E3 Direct was more or less Smash Direct, so to be fair not really interested
Why are they having a Smash Direct (again ) 4 months before release?? Could it be that they are gonna give us something early? Like a demo releasing together with the online subscribtion! For me, like so many others who mostly wants single player games, the Smash focus was a bummer for the E3 Direct, but I can get a little bit abord the hype train if this game includes a good single player campaign. I'll buy the game anyway as well!
@Razer
Smash Bros didn't become a "true system seller" until Brawl; that's when the franchises transitioned from "that cool fighting game with all the Nintendo characters" to "the most popular fighting game in the word."
Say what you want about Brawl as a competitive fighting game, but it sold like crazy and helped push Wiis into millions of homes. It was Nintendo of America's fastest-selling game when it launched in spring 2008, a record that it held for over 8 years until the launch of Pokemon Sun/Moon in late 2016.
Ultimate will be the first fully-fledged Smash Bros game on a successful platform since Brawl. It will do serious business during the holidays, and it's going to push a ton of hardware sales.
When smash came out on the Wii u did it have a large impact on system sales? Does anyone know?
Kinda woulda liked a regular Direct instead. I think I've understood this Smash game already
“Welcome the this Super Smash Bros. Ultimate direct. The game is delayed summer until 2019. Goodbye”.
Aren't they releasing a new paid for online service in a month we only have bare bones info on? Smash could probably have waited until October for more. This certainly feels like the Nintendo of old where they hate money.
Nintendo just managed to deliver me a mix of “oh boy” with “again”, it’s nice to know a bit more bout smash, but just smash on a direct after “that” E3 meh
@NewAdvent sadly ur right this nintendo’s Only original big game for this year (I know there’s the Pokémon thingie ) xd
I confess I was surprised that they're doing another Smash Direct given that the last direct was pretty much mostly Smash. But I'm not sure how much they could have planned for the rest of this year.
We just had Mario + Rabbids DLC, Octopath and Tennis Aces, so June and July were pretty packed. (I haven't finished the Donkey Kong Adventure because I've been focused on Octopath). There was also the Crash Collection, Fortnite etc that launched recently.
August seems like it's going to be mostly indie games and smaller titles, though it does have Overcooked 2, Okami HD, and Monster Hunter which are all titles people were saying they wanted.
September is going to be Xenoblade 2's DLC that's big enough to be a retail release apparently. (Still not sure if I really even liked XBC2 enough to buy the DLC, I got through it ... not sure I really need more open worlds filled with impractically sized breasts)
Dragon Ball Fighter Z is also coming out, not that I'm interested in that but I think it's a big title.
In October Mega Man 11, Starlink, and Super Mario Party are coming.
In November it'll be Pokemon.
December will be Smash.
Pokemon company is going to take care of all the media for Pokemon. So at this point it really only makes sense to hype up Super Mario Party and Smash Bros.
Has 2018 been lighter on epic tent poles? Well we have Mario and Zelda last year which was insane. We also had Splatoon and a rerelease of Mario Kart. So yeah there were a lot of big reasons to buy a Switch last year. But this year we've had some really nice games too, especially from companies who aren't Nintendo, which is really nice to see after having lived with the Wii U.
I think Nintendo probably knew that had to go heavy in the first year to get the sales up, then in year two they could let some of their partners fill in the gaps while they worked on new titles. I think next year with Yoshi, Fire Emblem, and and a few other games we'll probably have a great year. (I kinda expect them to port a few more Wii U games, no reason Pikmin 3 and Mario 3D world can't happily live on the Switch.)
I'm really hoping for the next 2D Mario they showcase it and then a month after it's been on the market they announce that the whole thing was made in the new version of Mario Maker.
Either way, Nintendo always has things in the oven and just because we're not seeing them this year doesn't mean they're not making them, and doesn't mean that Smash is in any way taking away from them. They just know Smash is going to sell like crazy and drive up the install base.
While I'm interested in the new Smash Bros, I'm not sure I need to see another Direct about it. Will probably watch anyway but would have much rather had a regular Direct.
a smash direct? is it E3 already?
@westman98 we've done this dance before, nothing changed then and nothings changed now, i have yet to see a compelling enough reason that indicates to me that Smash Bro's does any more for the console sales than Mario Party. At least not yet, as i said, Ultimate could actually deliver where the ones after Melee didn't.
Also just to add, Melee has earned better reviews, from both critics and gamers than Brawl, Melee is still the preferred game during smash tournaments and in all honesty Melee was better for its time.
I liked Brawl, but i prefer a normal controle for fighting games, many seasoned fighting gamers wouldn't touch Brawl for this reason. The gaming controller for the Wii was a horrendous mess.
@zool well they have one (or you could say two) game in the holidays season that will outsell smash...
@Euler Mario Kart outsells Smash too, but Mario Kart hasn't been showcased like Smash (at E3 for half the presentation and again in a focused Direct not that long afterwards). Neither was Smash on Wii U given quite the same level of exposure in an E3 presentation. They have Pokemon as a system-seller too that launches around the same time. I know it's a spin-off, but it's still a way more successful franchise than Smash. I was wondering whether so much attention was because of a change of direction (like BotW) or, perhaps more likely, a hike in importance of the series in Nintendo's eyes. Reggie said something about showcasing it as a deeper fighting game and not just a button-masher.
As you said yourself, E3 was lackluster, giving few other games and lots of seemingly inconsequential detail on Smash. If you want more info on Smash, then others should have the right to hope for more info on other games, no? Perhaps, you could say, "Of course they'll announce things later!" I don't think they get a pass just because they're Nintendo. I'll believe it when I see it and I'd be pleased with something big, but still left shaking my head at why on earth they didn't announce at E3.
Anyway, I'm wondering if perhaps something about Switch Online might be mentioned. That alone will make the presentation worth watching.
Well as someone who couldn't care less about fighting games I am obviously disappointed and hopefull for a true direct shortly after
That guy who shorted Nintendo stock I wonder if he knew Nintendo would do something this stupid? Especially as investors demand new big retail titles that haven't been announced.
Just sit back and enjoy.
complaining toddlers 🤣🤣🤣😂
After the direct they will forget what they wrote and make a reaction video with lots of tears of joy lol. I'll just make a prnt screen just to be sure people wont delete their comment lol.
@The-Chosen-one Tell me about it. There's an ocean of snot bubbles in here.
I really hope that this is Nintendo trying to make it so they don't make the same E3 mistake again. Maybe they are trying to get all the Smash information in one Direct so that when the official Direct comes out, we can find out about everything else. That way, if you aren't that into Smash (like me) you can just not watch it and wait for the normal Direct and not have to sit through all the minor detail changes.
@WiltonRoots
Hahah your comment deserves a reward! Bubbles of snot 🤣
Really??!! So the overly long winded E3 presentation still wasn't enough? How about any info regarding the months between end of August to December? How about highlighting the upcoming Online Service?I'd like to know what I'm potentially going to be paying for. MORE SMASH IS NOT NEEDED!
@Euler Very nicely put and I agree with everything you typed. One thing I will add is that everyone who put a negative comment on here should be banned from watching it or at the very least should not make any comments on the Direct page as if I have to read any more comments about how they don't like Smash games or why we are getting another Direct about Smash they are all being reported ... for being annoying.
@maruse Yes, we need. No info of game modes or online was delivered during that presentation. There is still a lot to cover, and that's a good thing.
Gotta love the amount of people equating "I don't like Smash" to "will Smash really sell that many consoles?". Smash has been in the top 10 best selling games on each respective system that it's been on (normaly top 5). The only series that consistently have more selling power are Mario, Mario Kart, and Pokemon. So yes, Smash will sell and it will sell gangbusters. With that it will also sell consoles. So no, from a business aspect, Nintendo doesn't need to announce any more games this year. I can understand how some of you are disappointed about the amount of games for you personally, but don't equate your own personal disappointments with a failed business model. Nintendo will be very well off this year with Smash and Pokemon alone.
Gonna guess King K. Rool
@Mqblank if i hear another one praising every stupid thing Nintendo does, I'll report it as being sickening.
I guess you'd be a Trump supporter, seeing as you dont really like freedom of opinion and all... How does that work for ya?
So that means that Nintendo doesn't have any games except Smash for this year. What a joke. Nintendo can't do anything right.
@Razer This is a bizarre comment. According to Metacritic the last three home console games have virtually identical scores (both from critics and from users). Fox-only/items off/Final Destination players may think the series peaked at Melee, but they represent a very small percentage of the Smash playerbase and are not the director’s target audience. And even then, the Smash 4 tournament scene is big enough to get a place at Evo.
http://www.metacritic.com/search/game/Super%20smash%20bros/results
There’s nothing wrong with the control scheme for Brawl, seeing as you have the option of using the same controller that you can use for all of the other games.
I don't even want this game anymore lol I'm so annoyed by the coverage
Playable Waluigi being revealed in Story Mode as Wario Partner.
@Razer
" i have yet to see a compelling enough reason that indicates to me that Smash Bro's does any more for the console sales than Mario Party. "
Um...Smash Bros sells a lot and hardware sales shoot up when it releases. Of course, Smash Bros doesn't shift enough hardware to rescue poorly-selling hardware from failure i.e. the Wii U, but then again, no game can.
Melee is really popular among the hardcore fighting game community, but it is Brawl that expanded the series beyond the hardcore fans to the mainstream.
@Ricochet72 @hippoeater @Sidon_ZoraPrince @ShadowWarrior
would you rather have a general direct focus on mostly for smash again? or a single one to blow it all out info they can with a theme direct?
and besides we still have september and october. Nintendo will likely have a general direct by then.
Can people stop complaining. They are just trying to promote one of their big games. Am the only one excited for this direct.
People who are complaining about getting "too much smash" are just entitled children who are expecting too much. We will get an info dump on Smash this week, but that doesn't mean we can't get another direct in the coming months. I am expecting one in mid to late September to round out their 2018 lineup, and then a December/January one to give us a sneak peek into what 2019 holds for the console. But until then, calm down and enjoy the Smash news.
P.S. If Rex and Pyra get in the game I might actually cry.
Also, people are acting like we know every last single detail about Smash, we don't. So people need to stop whining.
Hmm...more information on a game that already has a ton of information out? I'll bite, what you got for us Sakurai?
@Sakura Nintendo directs focused on only one game are extremely common, even games much less popular than Smash. Check out the list here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Direct_presentations
Pokémon directs are among the most common, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got one this year. We’ll almost certainly get several in the lead up to Pokémon Male and Female (working title) in 2019. A general direct would be nice, but I don’t think they have much left to announce for 2018. We’ll somehow get more information about the launch of the subscription fee, which might come with a few surprises (DLC for multiplayer games, and maybe even a surprise E ticket reveal).
@Aozz101x The general ones will still have a significant amount of time spent on Smash even with this Smash only Direct existing. There'll probably be another Smash only Direct around November too.
@Grumblevolcano i'd figure they do another in November.
@Syrek24 Thanks. Big fan of your picture by the way!
@Razer You are on a dedicated Nintendo site so the majority of people will like the products that they make so if you don't like these comments, don't read message boards on a Nintendo site.
I don't like everything Nintendo releases but I don't go on the message boards of the products I don't like to complain about them which is my main problem with people who complain MULTIPLE times. If you don't like something, post something to that effect and then leave. Why do people have to keep on posting, in detail, of how they hate this decision? Will their comment be read by the company the product is about? 99% chance it won't be.
"@Euler you got your Nintendo Switch for Smash but i sure as hell didn't. I know many that didn't as well."
As for the above comment, I hope you enjoy the Direct and will look forward to your comments after the show.
As for your Trump comment, if that bloated wind bag wasn't President (hate calling him that), he would be on Twitter complaining about there being another Smash Direct and if @Euler picked apart some of his comments, he would declare it fake news
@SimplyCinnamon53 ya it will be the only one unless they show a teaser at the end but that's doubtful.
@Cobalt they didn't really show anything at e3 other then returning characters and some new ones and the small tweaks. There is a ton more to show off.
@edgedino
It reminds me when MarioKart 8 was announced back then, Nintendo had shown EVERY circuit, EVERY characters, EVERY items...
This have to stop ! Why they don't let people discovering by themselves... ? Why they have to spoil everything... ?
This is litterally stupid !
Don't see how that would be necessary. I'm sure every Switch owner, current or prospective, has already decided whether they'll buy this game or not.
It feels a little early for this direct. Thought they would have more on smash around October. Maybe they are bringing the release forward?
@Euler I think the pairing of the E3 Direct with this Direct is what is more unusual, but it makes more sense in light of Reggie's comments. It's the E3 Direct which is slightly odd. Very focused on Smash, but didn't give the important details. Part of me wonders why they bothered; much of it seemed like filler. Apart from Zelda, they've given more breadth to the presentation in other years. They have other games they could have shown, but took the deliberate decision not to do so. That's odd for a presentation that is still the biggest gig of the year for the industry.
I'm not sure that hoping that they make up for it now with more Directs is really a great message for Nintendo to be giving. But, Nintendo will do whatever they will do, and mostly, that works out. I really think they are going to try to do something special with Smash Ultimate that they haven't done before with the franchise. That's a good thing. Not giving info on anything else is still less of a good thing, though.
Yay, I got something to watch while at work Wednesday! Myself and the other people that like SSB will all probably have a "meeting" about it afterword lol.
@Cobalt the difference here though is that there is more content compared to Mario kart 8 and there will be things not revealed regardless but as it stands people really do need to know some things like whether or not there will be a story mode cause if there is there is no way he would willingly show it off, considering how he acted to people putting the cut scenes on YouTube, and they won't show off the challenges. Regardless though what modes they show will be a turning point for many people on whether or not it will be a worthwhile purchase to play without online.
@Sakura I’m with you on the E3 part being bizarre. The first “everyone is here (along with Inkling)” video plus the Ridley reveal would have gotten the job done, with the 15 minutes or so in between released as blog entries and/or just left for Treehouse players to discover. The big focus on minor details seemed to be of interest to competitive players, but Sakurai later told the Washington Post that they’re not his target audience and that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is not designed to be an eSport.
Fingers crossed for Ridley. I'm sick of seeing all those admittedly well-done hoaxes on YouTube that everyone fell for. They clearly didn't learn from Rayman before.
But seriously, fingers crossed for the king or the doll. If they end up going with K. Rool, I hope they use his gold-plated appearance from DKC rather than his blander DK Barrel Blast redesign. That'd be like bringing in Simon Belmont and using his Judgment design.
As for Geno, they have every reason and freedom to add him now that Square-Enix is on-board with Smash.
He has the craftiest inventions. He has the most devious plans to turn tools into weapons and rule the world (again). He has the haircut to end all style battles.
Dr. Wily joins the fight!
Gosh I would love Dr. Wily to be a new fighter. Hyped for the presentation (although Dr. W. won't ever make it into the roster).
My guess for new fighters are (with some being a lot less likely than others):
Rex (+ xc2 related assist trophies)
Spring Man (with Ribbon Girl as Echo)
LABO robot
Gengar (Clefable as Echo)
Octopath Travelers (all 8 as 1 fighter)
Funky Kong
Octoling (Echo for Inkling)
My guess for game modes:
Adventure/story mode for single player and co-op akin to subspace emissary.
All-star
Arena (100-man melee etc.)
Online tournament spectator mode
And maybe something entirely new.
Also I'll be enjoying this direct and the next one, that will inevitably come at some point within the next 2 months. Bunch of very weird people / trolls here.
@Euler I don't think Sakurai can work in any way except making the best game he can, irrespective of audience. It's interesting that the question was asked, though. Reggie hinted that he has a wider vision and being a great game wouldn't preclude anything.
Heh, the sooner a smash direct is out in the open the better. They'll always be time for a general direct. I can only take daily character intros from the website for so long.
@DannyBoi Why's that related to the Smash Bros direct? You can't pester Nintendo about the Switch's Online Service which is unrelated to this news post.
@Alantor28 My point is, haven't we seen enough news on smash bros Ultimate? Plus the game is still 4 months away. And most of us were expecting a normal Direct.
@DannyBoi And what exactly is wrong with more news on Smash Bros Ultimate? Some may enjoy while others like you are complaining about it. You seemed obsessed with the Nintendo Switch's Online Service and trying to get a petition to Nintendo to change what you don't like, it's not good for you.
Complaining about the Online Service and obsessing about it is not healthy. Trust me, you need to stop obsessing about the Nintendo Switch's Online Service.
Predicting:
1) A story mode <-- Really hoping for this
2) New mode(s)
3) New stage(s)
4) One new character either eco fighter or completely new
Look, it is real simple. If you don't like smash, don't watch it. If you do, you will get to see new information. There are rumors of a Nintendo direct coming probably next week.
@Mqblank there you go, an entire direct dedicated to announcing a few new playable characters and waaaay too many stages... by this logic, we will need a direct when they announce simple patches. Gotta hype up the patch, no matter how many patches that maybe....
You know i waited before replying to your comment, i waited for this ridiculously anti climactic direct.
You said: "As for the above comment, I hope you enjoy the Direct and will look forward to your comments after the show."
Well the show has ended exactly as i said it would... What now?
@Razer Ha ha I am glad you watched it and I hope you will enjoy the next one when they announce what is behind that blur as we both know that there will be one.
C'mon though, the general feeling I got from the Live Feed Comments were postive. You may not be interested in the game, but there are thousands that are and these are the people that the Direct is aimed at. It is not designed to bring more people into the game as the general public do not watch Nintendo Directs, they will have to win these people over will regular advertising on TV etc. That is much more of a challenge.
@Alantor28 My main problem is that Nintendo will not allow local backup. Yes, I dowant Youtube/Netflix and an internet browser, but like Isaid no local backup ismy main problem. And also,I hope we get another Direct that has some game announcements.
@Mqblank actually i do enjoy the game, i really can't wait to play it, but there is such thing as "overkill", it obviously stands to reason we would get new characters, when in the history of fighting game sequels has there not been new characters?
i would have proffered it much more if they kept the unlock-able ones a secret until people had a chance to actually play the game but that's just my personal preference.
They really overloaded people with Smash info this year, so much. couple that with the lack of info on EVERYTHING else, including the online service that's actually meant to drop before Smash...
In all honesty though, i am hyped for Smash, i just wish they would talk about something else.
